Second ODI between India and South Africa, which was won by the latter by four wickets in Raipur yesterday, gave series draw of 1-1. And match was very exciting. India had first made enormous total of 358/5 with amazing centuries by Virat Kohli with 102 runs and Ruturaj Gaikwad with 105 runs but South Africa managed to chase huge target with 362/6 with superb century by Aiden Markram who made 110 runs and good support by Breetzke who made 68 runs and Brevis with 54 runs. India bowlers found it hard to keep score due to heavy dew and Markram was Player of the Match and it was time to play exciting final game.

I watched the match yesterday on JioHotstar. Performance from India during the second innings was pathetic. How many times you see a team losing, even after posting a 350 plus total? Indian bowling simply imploded without the presence of Jasprit Bumrah. Neither the pacers, nor the spinners managed to tame the South African batsmen. Arshdeep Singh and Ravindra Jadeja were the only Indian bowlers with an economy rate of less than 6. Prasidh Krishna went for more than 10 runs per over, while Kuldeep Yadav proved to be the weakest link in Indian bowling.

Bowling again looked bad but that's not the only reason.

It was almost a similar match to the last one, where dew was a big factor and they had to change ball 2-3 times, it's a tough one for bowlers and fielders didn't help them much with their sloppy fielding and leaked atleast 30 runs.

India were under par as well and didn't kick much in the last 10 overs and failed to finish good with the bat, they should have get those extra 20-25 runs

Despite that, sa deserve credit, they failed in the first match but chased down similar target in same condition last night.

once again Washi proved to me he doesn't deserve a place in team , still can't undestand why Axar was dropped for the series ..he is way better player in White ball cricket & unlike red ball ..Axar & Jadeja actually compliment each other in white ball , we have the example of T20 WC and Champions Trophy.

In white ball Washi inclusion is tricky and think his role is not defined.

Is he coming in as bowler ( which didn't look alright) or as finisher, if that's the case then there are much better options for finisher slot. Like you said earlier, they will finish him as Irfan Pathan.

I was surprised when I didn't see babu's name in the squad, he did satisfactory job in the Australia but not sure how jaddu got in. For some unknown reasons or call it monkey balancing in top 7, he even got drop from test playing XI.

The biggest rivalry at the moment is probably the ODI match between India and South Africa. In the first ODI match, India defeated South Africa by 17 runs and today was the series-defining match for South Africa where they defeated India by 4 wickets. In the first innings, India batted against South Africa and managed to score 358 runs in the allotted 50 overs. Virat Kohli maintained his century streak in the second ODI match like in the first ODI match. Chasing a target of 369 runs, South Africa batted in control from the start and in the 50th over, they finally secured victory. Yeah, their match aggregate is 720 runs, and it was the highest aggregate in the history of South Africa and India ODI's.  To be honest I was thinking that like as the first match the south african team will going to be loss once again becuase the run score is higher than the previous one but the real scenario was fully differnt we saw Aiden Markram bat is on fire and as well  Dewald Brevis, Matthew Breetzke, Temba Bavuma and as well who played in the last they also really did real good performance. Actually, these kinds of competitive matches are the actual beauty of cricket.

I think the patience and responsible batting of the South African batsmen helped them win this match. The South African team we used to see earlier is completely different from the South African team we are seeing now. Earlier, South Africa used to lose against medium and small teams but now they are beating teams like Australia, England, India regularly. It was really great for South Africa to win despite chasing a huge total. The performance they put up in the second match will undoubtedly boost their confidence and they will try to continue this great performance in the last ODI match.

When India scored a huge score of 358 runs, I thought South Africa would lose this match too but the South African batsmen surprised everyone and managed to win by 4 wickets. Maybe if the South African top order batsmen could have performed well in the first match, then South Africa could have won. Aiden Markram batted very well and was dismissed for 110 runs off 98 balls.On the 6th, the strong India and South Africa will face each other in the third ODI. Both the teams will want to win the third match with their best performance and win the series.

Washi can be a very handy in both the department but he is under utilized by the team and also give him a defining role instead of trying in different positions that is going to affect the confidence and he will be playing with pressure like he should perform or he is not going to be picked for the next match and this applies for most of the players too. Rutu's knock was a positive but bowling needs to step up because even if they can't defend 350 then it's on the bowling department.

Apart from this, Raturaj Gaikwad has also played a wonderful innings of 105 runs today. Kl Rahul was unbeaten on 66 runs off 43 balls. The target is very big. Even then, South Africa will try to win. South Africa had collected 300+ after a very bad start in the first match. Today, South Africa has collected 197 runs in 30 overs, losing only 2 wickets. South Africa will have to collect 162 runs in 20 overs to win. This is difficult but not impossible. South Africa has the ability to collect 160+ in 20 overs. So South Africa will try to win till the end.

This is a batting friendly pitch. So even though the target was big, South Africa had a chance to win. And South Africa is also trying to win. Of course, collecting 359 runs is a very difficult task. But South Africa has the ability to win this match.

South Africa's collection is 237/3 after 37 overs. Both Breetzke and Brevis at the crease are very talented. These two batsmen are unbeaten with 45 and 29 runs respectively. Also, de Zorzi, and Marco Jansen have the ability to bat well. South Africa need to collect 106 runs in 78 balls. The last 10 overs seem to be very enjoyable.

I have seen this match This entire match was achieved due to the great performance of South Africa. India has given a big target in the ODI series because the batting of both the teams was worth watching, so South Africa also achieved this target easily, which their batsmen fought brilliantly in it. Both Indian batsmen Raturaj and Virat Kohli were able to complete centuries. India scored these runs at the loss of very few wickets. Anyway, the third match is going to be held at the Visakhapatnam Stadium. Apparently, both the stadiums where the first two ODI matches were held were batting friendly. I don't know whether the pitch condition or ground of the Visakhapatnam Stadium is batting friendly or bowling friendly, so the third ODI match seems more interesting to me at the moment.

I saw the interest and strength in this match too with South Africa victory and they have a golden opportunity to win this series which India may not let them get. This was felt until South Africa had not completed half their batting due to which India's such a big target seemed strong. Apart from that, it was also difficult to expect this from South Africa but they tried and worked hard which led them to victory this match. Their hard work and efforts were good in this match too but India's tough bowling weakened them. If the batsmen who played well in this match play well in the last match, then I hope they will make this series successful too. Apart from that, both of them played hard which is evident in their target and tough bowling.

I agree that Bavuma has contributed a lot to their victories recently, but that is not the full story. The real reason for their recent success is that CSA (Cricket South Africa) abandoned their radical transformation quota targets for the national team selection. A few years back, CSA had a target of 7 non-white players in the XI by 2025. But as you can see, there were 7 white players in the XI that defeated India at Raipur. If they had went ahead with their race-based selection policies, then in all probability South Africa would have performed much worse during the recent tours.
