Pakistan had a really good start today. Umar Zaib provided an essential start to the team by taking the first four wickets and then the captain Farhan Yousaf tried many different bowlers to get wickets and it is good that often they got wickets otherwise the maiden overs put pressure on the Zimbabwe's batsmen and made them feel hopeless, that was exactly according to the plans of the Pakistan Under 19s team. When they come to bat Sameer Minhas with extraordinary power hitting and back to back fours and sixes made Pakistan had an easy win in the finals.

At first I was a bit surprised to see this series happening. Why Pakistan should play against a weak team such as Zimbabwe? But then I realized that the U-19 World Cup is just one week away, and Pakistan is using this series to warmup before the tournament. For some reason, this time the ICC placed Pakistan and India in different groups. Pakistan is in Group C, along with England, Zimbabwe and Scotland. India is in Group B, along with Bangladesh, New Zealand and United States. Anyway, result of this match was as expected. A heavy win for Pakistan, with Umar Zaib shining with the ball. It should boost their morale ahead of the world cup.

Afghanistan proved to be the weakest team in this Tri series.Zimbabwe is also weak but thanks to the runs they got due to rain they reached the final.Pakistan Under 19 once again made history and won this Tri series.Pakistan Under 19 has made continuous success since they entered cricket.Talking about this final Zimbabwe Under 19 performed very poorly and Pakistan Under 19 got a very small aim according to their performance which Pakistan Under 19 won in the first after 202 balls and ended the match.Pakistan Under 19 has been in a lot of headlines after this wining.Pakistan Under 19 achieved this aim by losing only one wicket.Sameer Minhas scored 114 runs with a strike rate of 223 and he hit an incredible 17 fours and 5 sixes and played a special role in this wining.

Today is a big final. Pakistan have been unbeaten so far in this series and I think today's match will be super easy for them to win it. Afghanistan Under 19s was so poor team that they can't even win to the Zimbabwe team they played three games (played four but one was disturbed by rain).

Last time on 4th Jan, we have seen when Zimbabwe facing to Pakistan that was good game by Zimbabwe that they restricted Pakistan less than 220, but then the rain comes and the match was finsihed without result.

Pakistan youngsters were delivering quite brilliant performance in recent time and especially after being Asian champions they really caught fire and were unbeaten throughout the tri series against Afghanistan and Zimbabwe u19's. Sameer the heroic perform of green shirts were truly responsible of such results, and more shocking at final he broke the fastest ODI century of Indian youngster vaibhav suryavanshi and set a new record of scoring century on 42 balls at ODI. Hope so he will bring some memorable achievement for his national team after being Polish by quality coaches.

Sameer Minhas has back-to-back boundaries; he is such a significant power hitter that we saw yesterday. He made around 114 off 51 balls. Back to back sixes and fours while his partner Mohammad Shayan was playing relatively slowly, keeping it nicely and peacefully and at the same time, I think this is good partnership when a player is doing power hitting so second should maintain the running between the wickets and avoid to play long shots and lessen the chances of losing wickets and it avoid pressure on the other player.

Both openers batsmen performed brilliantly in opening of line and Aeron and Vaibhav batsmen halped a lot team to win this 3 rd game and both were completed century. Aaron made 118 runs in 106 balls and hitted sixteen 4s. Vaibhav scored 127 runs in 74 balls and hitted nine 4s and ten 6s. South Africa U19s team already lost 2 games and their team failed one more time and lost this 3 rd game by big margin 233 runs. Kishan bowling effort was great and he took down 3 wickets in 4 overs and gave 15 runs.

Back to back wins for team India, today's match was so easy for them. The player of the match was one and only Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Today, the Indian team was overwhelmed by what a brilliant batting performance. Aaron George and Sooryavanshi played an outstanding innings. Playing at a strike rate of 171 in an ODI match is remarkable. Aaron George and Sooryavanshi had very good partnership. They put on partnership of 227 runs in total of 155 balls. After that, partnership was made, later on, there was no big partnership, but in the end, a partnership of 53 runs was made again.

If we look at the bowling side Kishan Singh took 3 wickets for 15 runs in 3 overs and was outstanding on the bowling side. Indian team bowled as well as they batted well. If we look at performance of South African team, they could not perform well either on bowling side or on batting side. Paul James and JJ Basson proved to be most expensive, conceding 109 runs in combined 10 overs. The batting line up did not form any big partnerships, which led to their defeat.

Vijay Hazare Trophy

I watched very intense game in Vijay Hazare Trophy that was played between Group C teams in which Punjab and Mumbai were competing. Punjab vs Mumbai game, Mumbai team won toss and they elected field first and gave batting lineup to Punjab team. Punjab batsmen set average runs 216 in 50 overs by losing all wickets. Anmolpreet batsmen batted well and made half century 57 runs in 76 balls and hitted six 4s and one 6s. Some of their opener batsmen played very poor and made pressure on team. Ramandeep also performed great with Anmolpreet and he scored 72 runs in 74 balls and hitted five 4s and three 6s. Unfortunately Mumbai team lost game by small margin 1 runs only and they chased 215 runs. Gurnoor and Mayank bowler helped a lot team to win game and Gurboor bowled out 4 wickets and Mayank also took down 4 wickets in 5.2 overs.

I would not say that Pakistan Under-19 team was at the peak of their performance because they were also in the same group as Indian Under-19 team in Asia Cup and they lost to Indian Under-19 team in the first round and because of that I thought that even if they went to the final they would not be able to compete with Indian Under-19 team not only me but most of the people had such an idea that Pakistan Under-19 team will definitely lose that match. But it was the opposite even though Pakistan Under-19 team was not at their peak performance of the entire tournament but they showed extraordinary skills in their batting performance and bowling performance in that match due to which they were able to defeat a strong team like Indian Under-19 team.

ICC Men's Under-19 World Cup Warm-up Matches

2026 ICC Men Under-19 World Cup practice matches are currently happening in both Zimbabwe and Namibia. Today is busy day of India vs. Scotland and Pakistan vs. Bangladesh important games with fans viewing such stars as 14 years old Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Asia Cup hero, Sameer Minhas. Although England has already opened with a win yesterday, it is other leading teams which are under pressure to show that they are quite prepared with bouncy morning balls in Harare and Bulawayo. Personally, I think these matches to be more of case of getting rid of the rust and building mental strength and those who are able to deal with fast African conditions nowadays will probably be ones that make it to semi finals in next month.

This is pretty good in the middle overs, but also up the gear of run rate and avoid playing those shots that cause risk. Bangladesh Under-19s has lost half their team below 100 runs.

After having big wins against South Africa U19, in today game against Scotland U19, Indian U19 bating at their best, scored another mighty 374 runs for the loss of 8 wickets, Indian U19 star batsman Vaibhav Sooryavanshi again shines with bat and scores 96 runs on just 50 balls, good support from Vihaan Malhotra 77 and Aaron George 61.

By the way this game-play by Scotland Under-19s proves that this is such a poor team with non-sense strategies. When they were struggling to have a wicket of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and other players, they used their every bowler to ball even at a time even if the wicket keeper were allowed to bowl in cricket, so they would have sent him too to bowl.  

They have tried 10 different bowlers out of 11 players to have something like wickets and the bad thing is that they still found trouble to get wickets but somehow Ollie Jones got 4 wickets but gave away too many runs.
