New Zealand batted very slowly in the beginning against England. I did not think that they would give a huge target of 338 runs. They lost two wickets in just 5 runs. But the Mitchell-Philips pair changed the whole scenario. Both of them scored centuries. Daryl Mitchell's collection was 137 runs in 131 balls and Phillips scored 106 runs in 88 balls. Apart from that, no other batsman could have played so well.

Among the Indian batsmen, Kohli, Nitish Reddy and Harshit Rana batted a little better. If Rahul and Iyer could have batted a little better, then India had a chance to win. It's important do or die match for both team as series were already tie and that were the series deciding one which unfortunately Indian lose and thus after a very long time lose an ODI series back at home while point to be mentioned that kiwi even whitewash them back at home but at test series last year, Mitchell were truly on fire like it's his second consecutive century against top Indian bowling lineup and were making things difficult for his opponent, honestly Indian can easily catch kiwi's after some early down but inconsistent good line and length allow opponent to settle down and secure, although Kohli try his best and scored brilliant century but still lose by few runs margin.
