- Put Electrum seed mnemonic into Electrum SV -> Get Bitcoin SV (do whatever you want with it, You could try using it with Nano S, but I'm fairly sure that Ledger don't support it natively within Ledger Live, you need to use Electrum SV+Nano S)

- Put Electrum seed mnemonic into ElectrumG -> Get Bitcoin Gold (again, do whatever you want with it, BTG is supported natively in Ledger Live, so you can just use that if you want to store your BTG with the Nano S)

I wouldn't hold them where they are, as you're possibly compromising the security of the coins by putting the seed mnemonic into various wallet applications... ElectrumSV and ElectrumG have not been reported as "scams" or malicious as far as I'm aware, but if you have a significant amount of value stored in them, you're better off moving the coins relatively quickly.

Again, you can't use BSV natively in Ledger Live, so you'd need to create a new wallet in ElectrumSV, "Use a hardware device" etc as per here: https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360012270054-Bitcoin-SV-BSV-

Hey.. on both sites electrum sv and the electrumg site... you need to make sure when you download it... verify the signature right before you open the program?  I mentioned a while back how when i download electrum and update it... i never did it because i wasnt sure how to do it... but made sure i downloaded straight from the electrum site or electroncash site.

Has there been any cases where someone downloaded electrum SV or electrumG from the official site... but downloaded a fake electrum?  You said you dont ever recall one instance of it happening with electrum ever...so i assume it never has happened with electrum sv or electrumG as long as you make sure you download it from correct site?  What confusing is why is it on the bitcoingold.org/electrumG site.. the download is from a github link like when i highlight it?  I thought that is strange compared to say electrum SV, when you put house on the download spot... well it would download directly.  I heard github was like unverified links etc and not safe in general?

Yea i recall nano ledger s doesn't support bitcoin SV.  So what did you do with it?  I assume you sold it a while back?  So if you didn't sell it... what wallet do you keep bitcoin SV in then?  Like I don't plan to sell
bitcoin SV right now... so where do i keep it then?  Just leave it in the electrum SV wallet?

Yea with bitcoingold... i know you could move them to nano ledger s as it supports it.

But for bitcoin sv, i like to know where i should keep it.  Also you recommend removing both programs electrum SV and electrumG after i download it and send the coins to somewhere else?  I know where to send bitcoingold... not sure bitcoin sv yet.  The only place i thought is possibly an exchange?

Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I'm not going to get into the same conversations we've already had for all the other wallets and coins... I'm not going to tell you that 100% this wallet is safe, or 100% you should do X...

Your options are:

1. Do nothing
2. Leave coins on ElectrumSV/ElectrumG
3. Using NanoS+ElectrumSV/Ledger Live+ElectrumG
4. Move coins to exchange.
5. Some combination of the above.

Do whatever you want, personally I'd pick #3, unless you're just going to dump in which case send them to an exchange and sell them.

Also, you'd be an idiot not to verify the downloads if they provide the ability to do so with PGP signatures/checksums etc... it takes a couple of minutes and could be the difference between downloading the correct software or downloading malware and losing $$$.

Okay so im finally going to do this soon as i put this off for a long time.

Now, i do have access to a desktop computer so i dont have to use my main laptop to download these two programs.  Its an old windows desktop that i wiped clean a while back but not one hundred percent sure if i wiped it clean fully the right way.

Would you say better to try downloading both electrumg and electrumsv on this old desktop to claim bitcoin gold and bitcoin sv as oppose to my main laptop windows computer?  I know when i downloaded electroncash to claim my bch on my main windows laptop, there was no issue.  I immediately moved the bch to nano ledger s and never used electroncash ever since though i still have program on laptop.

Would you suggest starting with bitcoin gold first... thus electrumg?  Since the value of bitcoin gold is lower than electrumsv... then start with it in case?  Thus since bitcoin sv is worth more, don't try with it?

And i mentioned i already moved my coins from electrum already... so the electrum seed i enter... would be fine.

The other thing is this.  Where do i send the bitcoin SV when i claim it?  With bitcoin gold, i can send it to nano ledger.  The thing is on coinbase... i do see i have some tiny bit of bitcoin sv there from a fork because a while back, i had tiny bit of btc there and they gave me tiny bit of bitcoin cash and sv as fork.  But bitcoin sv isn't supported on coinbase so i can't send bitcoin sv there.  Though i see i could send my bitcoin sv from coinbase to another site.  And speaking of that... how come i don't have any bitcoin gold in my coinbase wallet?  If i had a tiny bit of btc a while back where it gave me bitcoin cash and bitcoin sv... shouldn't a tiny amount of bitcoin gold still should be there like how bitcoin sv is there?

Should move the more valuable coins first... and work down in value... not the other way around.

Check the coinmarketcap page for Bitcoin SV... click the "market" button and you'll find the exchanges that support Bitcoin SV:
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-sv/markets/

Seems like they just didn't support BTG.

Yea i know what you mean with claiming the higher value first... which would be bitcoin sv as oppose to bitcoin gold.  But i thought because nano ledger supports btg, its easier for that.

I took a look at bitcoin sv markets... i see the exchanges that support it are huobi global, gate.io, kucoin.  Are all these reputable?  The thing is i dont even want to sell the bitcoin sv now.. just want to hold it.  And i dont want to keep it in the bitcoin sv wallet... and well many people say dont store it in exchange.  Do you have recommendation for me here HCP?  If coinbase or binance had a bitcoin sv wallet... i would do that.  But these exchanges, i dont know much about them.  I believe bithumb is korean exchange so dont believe i can create account there.

Okay so coinbase doesn't support BTG... which is why i didn't get any from the fork.

Create a new wallet in one of the Bitcoin SV wallets... or hold in on an exchange that supports Bitcoin SV.

Those are your only options.

Note that ledger apparently supports SV if you use the "Bitcoin Cash" app on the device and ElectrumSV: https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360012270054-Bitcoin-SV-BSV-

You just can't use Ledger Live.

Also, there are probably "replay protection" issues with BSV and BCH etc... you're on your own with that... I don't use either of these shitcoins. Try Google, there are plenty of "how to" guides.

Okay so i guess i might not try to claim the bitcoin sv now then.

But which of the bitcoin forks did you claim already hcp?  I know you said you claimed the BCH, but did you claim the bitcoin sv and bitcoin gold?

Thing is my situation was bit different because I didn't claim bch until much later on etc.  Such as when bitcoin cash, gold and sv fork all happened... i still didn't claim the bitcoin cash yet etc.  But you and others do say electrum SV should be where you claim it... since i claimed my bch with electroncash with the electrum seed etc.

Why do you care? Huh What does what I have or haven't done have to do with your situation? Huh Roll Eyes

I honestly have no idea what you're even talking about here? Huh

BCH -> Use Electron Cash
BSV -> Use ElectrumSV
BTG -> USe ElectrumG

What exactly are you confused about? Huh "When" you claim them really makes zero difference to the processes required... it doesn't matter if you did it the hour after the fork happened... or tomorrow.

The only difference will likely be in the value of the coins.

I have to claim my bitcoin sv and btg soon.  I do have a wallet where I could send the bitcoin sv to.  Also seem like i could see the btg to the nano ledger.

Now has anyone done this recently?

Also has anyone here claimed bitcoin private and diamond?

HCP, you say you don't deal with these crapcoins.  But if you just want to claim it and immediately sell it, what is wrong with that?  Such as sell it for usd or btc and delete the wallets after that.  Is there a reason you don't do that?

Thing is i want to claim all the bitcoin forks as the only way I claimed was the bitcoin cash.
