A reddit user introduced me to the exodus wallet a couple months ago. Subsequently I did researched about the exodus wallet and found a bunch of articles that promoted, supported the coins online. The various reviews I’d read about on a couple website were actually impelling to a newbie. (Not new to crypto, just to exodus wallet).

However, I downloaded the app on my phone, but figured the wallet seemed like an external one with a couple cons;
-No Wallet I’d
-No 2FA
Then I remembered posting a question about the exodus wallet and how much a wallet without the 2FA or Wallet I’D could be secure, the feedback from past users of the exodus wallet was frightening. Much of the response was I shouldn’t store my coins on the exodus wallet because it isn’t safe. I didn’t take them serious because the websites and platform I visited gave positive reviews about hodlers storing large amounts of coins in there portfolio in the wallet.

Now forward to just this morning I tried sending my BCH ($1300)  to bitcoin.com Wallet and found out it’s missing, I’ve contacted there support but they don’t seem to take me serious!! My litcoins about 7 I bought at $110(770), both coins amounted to $2100 now I can’t find shit in my my wallet.

Plus I live alone and no one has been with my phone in a very long time. Btw my coins were intact about 3-4days back.
Please what’s the solution for my coins?
Can I get them back?

I'm pretty sure Exodus is a non-custodial wallet hence why there's no 2FA. Can you look up your addresses on block explorers and check if there's a problem with the wallet or if the funds were actually sent out by someone?

Also, did you download the correct app? Hopefully you didn't install a fraudulent .apk. https://www.exodus.io/mobile/

Exodus is not open-source/fully transparent, but they claim that sensitive data such as passwords, 12 words seed are never sent to their servers. Also, there have been no reports of people losing their funds mysteriously either.

You're saying that your funds have been lost... If the coins have been sent somewhere else, you should be able to see that in your transaction history/blockexplorer. If not, it could be just a display issue and in that case, I suggest you rescan your wallet (If the phone wallet support that) otherwise, try and restore your funds in the desktop version.

As for 2FA, you can read here why Exodus doesn't support it: https://medium.com/exodus-movement/why-local-apps-and-2fa-arent-friends-yet-9c220013dc11

It's also worth mentioning that phone and desktop wallets are never recommended for storing large amounts and that's what their response to you meant probably. A hardware wallet is something you should consider in the future.

Did you check your address on a block explorer?
Simply visit one, enter your address and check whether there is an outgoing transaction.

Did your funds move ? Or are they still associated to your address ?

If hey have moved, make sure that they went to the correct address. If they did, the issue is on bitcoin.com.
If your coins have moved to a wrong address, you either copy / pasted the wrong address or there is some malware on your mobile.
And if they didn't move at all, it is just a network / display issue.

As long as you have 7 Litecoin in your wallet the possibility of hack is excluded as the hacker will tend to send all the coins.
Did you connect through VPN? It has happened to me several times, when you connect to VPN, some cryptocurrencies do not sync and thus give a wrong result.
Generally, extract the private key from that wallet and send your money to a wallet you trust.

You can verify if the transaction goes well by checking your address in a block explorer (as also mentioned above). If the destination address is correct and you have the control of it, no worries as your coins still there. Try to relog on bitcoin.com wallet as sometimes it needs a refresh. If the amount is still not reflecting on bitcoin.com wallet and you saw that it really end up on your address there then you have no choice but to wait for their customer support's response.

I believed the issue is not with Exodus. But anyway, to make it short, check the address first.

About the missing litecoins, try to re-install Exodus on your phone and give it a refresh. Or try exporting it on the desktop wallet version.

When you say "missing"... were they actually sent from your wallet or can you just no longer see the correct balance?

If you see outgoing transaction(s) sending the coins to a different wallet, then they've likely been stolen and your chances of recover are zero.
If you just don't see the correct balance, but there are no outgoing transactions, then it might just be a syncing/display issue.

As others have suggested, check your known addresses on a block explorer first. If the coins are still on your known addresses, then it's like just a syncing issue. If the coins have been moved, then it's more likely that your wallet was compromised and your coins have been stolen.
