Why Ripple's CEO asked Congress to avoid looking at XRP like Facebook's Libra?

Ripple's CEO, Brad Garlinghouse and executive chairman, Chris Larsen, posted an open letter to parliament on Sunday, asking authorities not to describe their company "in general".

Ripple's message to Parliament: Don't scare us
Operators continue to learn electronic money because they are useful beyond the borders. While some in the government considered it a threat, Garlinghouse and Larsen made another statement:

"In our opinion, digital currencies have an additional opportunity for existing currencies like the US dollar, not replacing them."

So do you think Ripple has the same fate as Facebook's Libra?
