Hi all,

Up for auction: nr's. 1 - 5 of our hand-made BTC silver bars, they are funded.
This is the first time we are setting up an auction, so hope we do this correctly.
Please provide feedback if we can improve. We hope the images will suffice, please click to view a larger depiction.

Some background:

Twitter: https://twitter.com/ClayCastCrypto
Auction for nr's. 1, 2 and 3 of our LTC serie: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5157382.0

Moving forward:

- It's still a hobby thing, though Mr. Tax-man might disagree when we have finished our fourth series or so.
- We will do a few more series of 10 bars in the same shape and weight, then we should level up somehow.
- BIP38: We have been thinking about this, we want to create a (bigger) model with an extra enclosure, secret chamber or something to store the generated passphrase / key.
- If you want BIP38, please contact us or leave a comment.

The bars:

- These .999 silver bars are poured in Delft, using the Delft clay method.
- Nr's. 1 - 5 up for auction. Stamped with serial number, logo and weight in OZT. Is shipped enclosed in an air-tite case within a velvet pouch.
- We will put one or two bars of this serie up for raffle using the median price of this auction.
- A couple of bars will be sold to befriended collectors for the median price of this auction.
- They are funded with BTC, corresponding to their weight (3.4 OZT - 0.034 BTC).
- Simple design, Qr code of public address on the back of the bar, private key beneath a self destructive holographic sticker on the front.
- Address and key etched with a laser on titanium plating with the use of Laserbond.
- Placed a piece of paper between the titanium and holographic sticker, same size as the titanium, to keep the etched key free from stickyness (if bar is ever redeemed).
- Instead of sandblasting these bars, like we did with the LTC bars, we decided to polish the front to a certain degree...
- Rough (un)finish(ed) look. The front of the bar is shiny, but has dents, pits and scratches. The back and sides have visble sanding marks and some polishing. Gritty.
- Ungradable, nowhere near perfection, but handmade and handled with care.
- Ready to ship.

From left to right: bars 1 - 5, front-side of the bar shown in the top-row, back-side in second row. Click image for a larger depiction.

Thanks!
We are still working on a site for the complete backstory and more images of the process (and fails...).

Also, seems BTC keeps bumping up, so see what we can do about that. These bars should come at a fair (fiat) price.

Is it possible to ad a last-minute raffle within this auction for the lots people are bidding for? Extra prize...
Ideas are welcome.

Guerilla-embedded-raffle-prize-background:

When we started, we had no experience with 3D software, 3D printing options or access to a quality 3D printer, so we used a 3D printing service.
Our first printed mold was a small Ethereum bar, followed by two LTC designs, similar in width, height and thickness (or lack of it).
The 3D printing company we contacted also offered a service to print models in wax and cast it in silver, brass, bronze or gold using the 'lost wax' method.
To see the casting quality of a professional company, we ordered one model in sterling silver, three in brass with rhodium plating and one bigger model in bronze with a PU coating.
We had plans to order 10 small rhodium plated LTC bars, but did not, because we felt uncomfortable with selling products we did not make ourselves.
We will however, revisit rhodium plating our objects in the near future.
Rhodium is often used as a protective layer on top of jewelry, harder and more resistant to scratching.

The raffle prize is a botched LTC bar with regard to funding. It also has some scratches, despite the rhodium.
After an 'aw f#ck it' moment, I went ahead and assembled the rhodium plated prototypes.
I had no LTC, so decided to buy the LTC with iDeal and fund directly from an exchange.
Never do funding from an exchange when having a bad day and a drink or two,
Two bars were correctly funded with 1 LTC, this one was funded with 0.999829 LTC.
Yes yes...
We are no Denarium...
We pokered with it... So yeah, casino bar. Scratches. Did clean it.

LTC prototype #2 -  Rhodium plated brass, sterling silver back - lasered with QR code, titanium plating with lasered key - funded with 0.999829 LTC

(Number three has been sent to Charlie Lee with help from a certain miner, don't know if he received it).

Rules:

If you win a lot from the BTC bar auction, you automatically enter a raffle for a LTC prototype.
The number of the lot you are bidding on, will receive the following raffle spots:

0 - Lot 1
1 - Lot 2
2 - Lot 3
3 - Lot 4
4 - Lot 5
5 - Lot 1
6 - Lot 2
7 - Lot 3
8 - Lot 4
9 - Lot 5
0 - Lot 1
a - Lot 2
b - Lot 3
c - Lot 4
d - Lot 5
e - Next block
f - Next block

The winner will be determined by block 588,579‬ - The last character.
If e or f wins, the next block will count, if an open slot wins (no bid on a BTC bar lot), the next block will count, etc.

Hope we state this raffle and block height prediction correctly, this should be a couple of hours after auction ends.
Please correct us if we are wrong on block height.

Hi Mr. Coblee,

Yes, we will redo the rhodium plated bars.
Think we will replace the sterling plate on the back with a sticker, metallic or hologram.
Probably next year though, we want to do the plating ourselves, or at least try.
We have also acquired some gems to play around with (bridge of sapphires for example).

Will do some small tablets (about 0.5 OZT), one striped bar (about 3.5 OZT) and something bigger (above 250 grams - kilo).
Think will end the bar series with the biggest and then move on to something else, more free of the constraints of standard air-tite cases.

Thank you and hope the bar fits in your collection.

Clay

Clay

This is super awesome Clay, thanks for your generosity..

Maybe, but we need to sell the BTC bars to continue wherever this is going.  Grin

Since the raffle ended a couple of hours before the ending of the auction...  Roll Eyes
We decided to add another (last minute) raffle.

Winning Lot for first raffle:

588,579‬ - 8 - Lot 4
588,580 - c - Lot 4
588,581 - c - Lot 4
588,582 - 7 - Lot 3
588,583 - 4 - Lot 5

Please correct me if I am wrong, seems Lot 5 has won the LTC proto. Sorry for the mess up.

Same rules, different block for the new prize: 588,620

Prize: 0.5 OZT Clay Cast LTC tenth. Will be loaded with 0.10 LTC

I think the raffle winning blocks should be adjusted to start after the auction is over. Not saying but just incase if a lot 3 or 4 gets a bid, that person would be def disappointed...
