On July 1st, 2019, suspicious activities concerning two BaseFEX accounts were detected and had consequently triggered security alerts. Automatic ban was initiated as a temporary measure to prevent such suspicious activities from harming the greater BaseFEX trading community. Right after that, there had been some unusual surge of new accounts joining our Telegram group. Untrue claims were made by them. As they refuse to provide their BaseFEX IDs, we were not able to verify if they belong to real BaseFEX traders. To keep this group useful for real BaseFEX traders, we had to remove these accounts from the Telegram group. These Telegram accounts also have made threats and personal offenses towards our employees and our employees had to block these accounts in private chat. We also have received complaints from our Twitter followers concerning similar harassments. After a two day investigation, our engineering team has concluded on the nature of this incident. It is detected that these two accounts had been engaging in long-time and extremely high-volume server attacks that had have a substantial impact on BaseFEX servers’ network conditions. As a result, the rest of BaseFEX traders’ ability to place order was severely undermined. This has generated considerable amount of unfair, if not illegal, earnings for these two accounts, at the expense of other BaseFEX traders. Among which, 11.7 BTC has already been withdrawn. Malicious activities that benefit themselves at the expense of other traders, such as server attacks, are not only against the very spirit of our community, but also in direct violation of our Terms of Service item 1.2 (a) (b) (d) (e) : 1.2: When accessing and using the Service, You must: a) not attempt to undermine the security or integrity of BaseFEX’s computing systems or networks or, where the Services are hosted by a third party, that third party’s computing systems and networks; b) not use, or misuse, the Services in any way which may impair the functionality of the Services or Website, or other systems used to deliver the Services or impair the ability of any other user to use the Services or Website; d) not transmit or input into the Website any files that may damage any other person’s computing devices or software; content that may be offensive; or material or Data in violation of any law (including Data or other material protected by copyright or trade secrets which you do not have the right to use); e) not attempt to modify, copy, adapt, reproduce, disassemble, decompile or reverse engineer any computer programs used to deliver the Services or to operate the Website except as is strictly necessary to use either of them for normal operation. Thus, we have zero tolerance for such activities. After careful consideration, it is decided that we will permanently discontinue our service with these two accounts and the person(s) who possess them. BaseFEX reserves the right to press criminal charges against the person(s) responsible for the aforementioned malicious activities and slanders. We also reserve the right to pursue other legal actions including civil litigations, in order to recover BTC losses for our entire trader community. BaseFEX will always strive to fight against all forms of malicious, prohibited activities to ensure fast order placement for legitimate traders. Link to our official announcement: https://blog.basefex.com/uncategorized/a-statement-on-malicious-activities/At this moment, we happen to have a promotional event ongoing on twitter right now that allows you to experience BaseFEX without depositing. The link has already been labeled with 'Warning: One or more bitcointalk.org users have reported that they strongly believe that the creator of this topic is a scammer.' It won't be necessary to further dispute it.
I mean, if you are so interested in spotting 'scams', you are more than welcome to have a risk-free try with BaseFEX yourself and tell people what you actually see there. Just signup an account and let us know the email via twitter DM or email me randolf at basefex dot com I will set things up. This way you would have more legitimate proof with whatever you want to say.
Thanks and look forward to hearing back from you.

It won't be necessary to further dispute it. I'm not seeing anything, can you print screen this? You also haven't posted the proofs I asked you to show. and I saw it on your thread: What is the country of origin?
Please show us some information about team, and are some countries forbidden for registration, as well as KYC info.
As promised, a photo of us working (again, we have to blur the faces otherwise we would need personal permission): this is some kind of joke right? How do they work in a company and don't want to show their faces? do they not take pictures to post on their social networks? Are they ashamed to work in your exchange? What explanation did they give for not showing their faces?

As I stated in another thread, promoting with their real faces without their personal permission is against my work ethics and against some principles that we live up to here at BaseFEX. So with all due respect, I cannot do that.
It seems that you are not interested in saying from real experiences even when I already offer you that risk-free?

I had been trading on BaseFEX long before the aforementioned FUD and I am still trading there today. Just my personal experience: I never had any problem with withdrawals. I actually withdrew some big amounts during the peak of the FUD. And it smoothly went through. I later started trading there again. The liquidity was a bit damaged, but it’s getting better these days, which I can clearly see. If you ask me why I still trade there given for whatever reason worse liquidity than say Deribit, that’s because I am cheap, meaning I love BaseFEX’s low fees. Probably because of their low fees, customer service still has a lot to improve. The response speed could have been better.

It's funny that you talk about real experience and that team members don't want to show their faces and that's why you respect their privacy, but you're missing something very important here: eventually all exchange will have to do KYC and do you think it is fair for other people to hand over their documents to people unknown to the internet? I saw this on your site: But your team is anonymous, they don't have social networks? they don't post photos on their social networks? this is very strange and unprofessional I had been trading on BaseFEX long before the aforementioned FUD and I am still trading there today. Just my personal experience: I never had any problem with withdrawals. I actually withdrew some big amounts during the peak of the FUD. And it smoothly went through. And when you have a problem, how do you expect to resolve if the exchange owner is anonymous? You should not forget that many exchanges ignore support tickets.
PS: I'm not accusing your exchange and I'm not saying that people shouldn't use your exchange.

You are making some very opinionated false accusation here without doing any research.I don't know if we somehow had anything personal with you somewhere before, and if so, I feel sorry. But that doesn't justify your very false accusation. Your accusation isn't consistent with the reality. 1. You neglected our about page here: https://www.basefex.com/docs/about-basefex2. And I bet you never did any research about BaseFEX on google because if you did, you will soon find this interview with our CEO Jesse Wu:https://www.techbullion.com/cryptocurrency-derivatives-exchange-interview-with-the-ceo-of-basefex-jesse-wu/ 3. Ever heard of a "thing" called LinkedIn? 4. Ever heard of a "thing" called Crunchbase? And by the way, no KYC/AML info needed with BaseFEX and you can start trading with just an email. We neither see the need for KYC/AML requirement in the near future. Privacy is a big deal in the crypto world and if there is something or someone or some organization that wants to enforce KYC/AML on our dear users, we will FIGHT it.

Hi, sorry to jump in on this but I have to try and take this opportunity when I see someone from baseFEX interacting with people after ignoring me since 22/07.
After seeing baseFEX automatically blocking people on twitter and telegram as soon as the word scam is mentioned I decided to try the more civil way of communicating with them and sent them direct messages on Twitter. Their responses were polite and prompt and when I explained I had been locked out of my account they advised they would look into it. Messages back and forth were ok and I explained I had a significant amount of bitcoin in this account.
Someone from BaseFEX very honestly admitted the fault lay with them as they did two upgrades the previous week and that they would work on finding the account. This message from them was sent on 13/07 and I replied for an update on 22/07 and have heard nothing back despite 4 messages to them. All this time they have regularly tweeted and even held a free bitcoin giveaway competition.
Of course I would naturally assume this company was a scam however I had been trading with them for quite some time without issue until now. The fact that they continue to trade, take people’s money and are clearly trying to grow as a company is sickening knowing that they have stolen or are withholding my money. I have several screenshot that I can provide.
Will you at least have the decency to respond to this?

Thank you for signing up a new account just to write the above reply. Feel free to provide me the materials that indicate you do/did have a BaseFEX account. Any other records such as BTC address or nickname, if any, will also help. There was indeed a support request, which I recall was from an East European surname, a while back that requests us to find an account of his friend whose account is assumedly blocked. 1. I looked into this myself, and no records found. I got back to the inquirer and he insists that's the email address. 2. I requested our data analyst to give a dive. Nothing associated with that email address found. 3. Then I requested a more deeper search with the engineering team looked into the database where all records are stored. Frontend upgrade errors won't impact there. Still nothing. No signup record, no transaction record, no block record. Nothing. So overall I find 0 records associated with that email address whatsoever - I can provide screenshots of our backstage searching such email returning no results if anyone is interested. I told the inquirer and he insists there was an account and says we must have lost it and asked for compensation. I don't know what to do then. Technically, and I am NOT saying the inquirer and his friend are doing this, anyone in the world can make this kind of accusation against any financial institution, insisting there was an account that may or may not ever exist.
So, again, kindly provide me something associated with your said BaseFEX account and we will look into it asap.Hi, sorry to jump in on this but I have to try and take this opportunity when I see someone from baseFEX interacting with people after ignoring me since 22/07.

Social media means nothing so why do you insist in us believing you are legit by supplying a bunch of social media accounts and a written interview. There's no smoke without a fire and clearly this fire is raging somewhere, multiple scam claims don't just pop up out of thin air.

Nothing associated with that email address found. 3. Then I requested a more deeper search with the engineering team looked into the database. Again, kindly provide me anything associated with your said BaseFEX account and we will look into it asap.
Technically you couldn't provide legitimate screenshot evidence of your backstage searching as its not verifiable by a third party. If you've lost accounts due to system upgrades, members need to be compensated. Its not too late to accept this mistake from your company and move on towards a more open and transparent business model. The longer you leave it the more shady you become and its printed here on the interrnet for all to see. Issues arise and problems can be fixed in time if dealt with properly and honestly. Its not going to go away by denying anything ever happened/saying it was someone else's fault or declaring malicious activity. The worst thing is thinking I or others will believe its OUR mistake that we've lost BTC because you've provided fake screenshots as evidence and posted shady photos with blurry faces in a random office picture.

My account email address is devxzero@protonmail.com. The only thing you've been able to provide me with so far is a single sentence reply to an email simply saying that this account didn't exist. I'd say thats hardly an adequate reply to a customer who is trying to recover their account with bitcoin still held on it. And not just a small amount, a significant amount. Which you are denying knowledge of ever existing. This is totally unacceptable and I am if you are not currently aware carrying out legal proceedings to resolve this. Tell me, why is your response in a public forum more detailed than your response in a DM to a customer? I believe you've got something to hide clearly.

This is totally unacceptable and I am if you are not currently aware carrying out legal proceedings to resolve this. create a thread here: Scam Accusationsyou should post proof (can be print screen), it is necessary to alert people about scam cases Tell me, why is your response in a public forum more detailed than your response in a DM to a customer? he wants to have a good image and consequently get a lot of clients I believe you've got something to hide clearly. maybe, since his team doesn't want to show their faces, everything gets really weird You are making some very opinionated false accusation here without doing any research.I don't know if we somehow had anything personal with you somewhere before, and if so, I feel sorry. Really? ok i will keep following this thread, if you are honest then we will not see any problem with your exchange.

After a two day investigation, our engineering team has concluded on the nature of this incident. It is detected that these two accounts had been engaging in long-time and extremely high-volume server attacks that had have a substantial impact on BaseFEX servers’ network conditions.
lie lie lie, i did nothing you have written about. 1. one day i have seen a lot of market buys and sells on trx pair. it moves kinda slow, so i was able to place buy limit @ 250, sell limit 251 and all these orders were filled. So i placed orders on every price level near current price, acting like a market maker. I repeated this and collected spread and someone was dumb enough to place a lot of market orders. 2. then i tried to withdraw and after ur scam i understood. it was u, i mean your bots' market buys and sells. You were dumb enough to fake market activity in this way: in order to make it looks like the real one, you bought from urself and sell to urself with simple market orders.Everything was fine for ur little fake show coz nobody traded on ur exchange. but then i started to trade with big leverage. and ur bots bought from me and after that sold to me. 3. after u found out it, you scammed me and turned off ur bots. Everyone can see this moment on their charts and the real volume one ur exchange without fake volume:https://prnt.sc/oulgt14. so this story with ddos attack is the best u came up with in order not to pay me 5. and i'm asking someone with reputation to leave a note on their profile so that everybody will see they are scammers There was a period of time that our server's capacity wasn't perfectly satisfactory. With that kind of capacity, extremely frequent requests, that can be no way generated by real trades, can easily overwhelm and slow down the server's ability to process other traders' order placements and deals. This is a situation that you can take full advantage of with some 'specialized' trading strategies and trading automation.
another lie. SHOW my orders and trades so everyone can see, that there were no 'specialized' trading strategies and trading automation. all i used was this simple script, https://pastebin.com/hFSHMxcX that every FIVE seconds showed my positions, coz ur website didnt showed them on chart and i have to orientate in a this grid of orders. You could say that this huge load(one request in 5 seconds lol) destroyed ur servers, but i wrote the script only after i saw i could make money buy market making here
