What happened - Plagiarized Whitepaper

Whitepaper link: https://vfarm.global/whitepaper.pdf

Page 15 of the article is a full copy paste from the article http://www.aidforum.org/topics/food-security/extreme-weather-is-adversely-impacting-poor-farmers-says-fao/

Origin: https://verticalfarminginsoccat.weebly.com/how-vertical-farming-works.html

Article author and co-author are not the part of the VFarm team, as well as no reference to original article is pointed in whitepaper.

The pictures from whitepaper are also stock pictures/can be found in google/yandex pictures. Of course they have an author and I doubt that he knows that they are used in a project that is currently having a token sale aka "earning money with someone else intellectual property"

Mind creating a flag? I'll support it hope some DT's will do as well, nice catch by the way. A project with plagiarized contents shouldn't be supported, that means fraud in the first place, I hope many investors will be aware of this and not to support this project. You can click the link above to create the flag against VFarm.

I would do that "creating a flag", but a bit later. I must read what is creating a flag before Cheesy Never had an interest before about flagging. I'm familiar so far (a bit, not like guru) about trust system.

P.S. I always thought that only DT can influence on reputation by flagging/adding points of trust.

Mind creating a flag? I'll support it hope some DT's will do as well.

Minor cases like this don't demand flags, negative feedback might just be enough indication of scam like attempt from the user (project) although if you feel the need to highlight that anybody dealing with this user is likely to get scammed then a Type 1 flag would be appropriate although visible to only guess & newbies. Generally, flag should be used for only serious cases and most especially when you're affected directly.

Anyone can create a flag although you would need supports especially from DT members to make the flag active on the users account. The average users support just reflect as a support to the flag but that of DT members influence the outcome of the flag.

Left a Negative feedback on account, you should do the same.

To be more precisely, flags are valid if a given number of user in your trustlist support it.
For a type1-flag, that's 1 more supporting than opposing and for a type2/3-flag that's 3 more supporting than opposing.

Since probably the majority of user didn't touch their trust list, DT 1/2 is what counts for them. This also applies to guests.

Generally, it is advised to adjust your trustlist to be less dependent on DT votes.

I don't think they're a scam though...more like they didn't include proper citations. Appears to be legit business.

Whitepaper nowadays may be a product of a team assigned to translate ideas into written form. ICO factories abound.

Their failing maybe that they were not thorough in their checking of sources or approved the paper verbatim for publication.

Some one could just alert them and see how they respond?

Its not a little think that means they don't care about the people or there business they even not bother to check or at-least read one time there whitepaper so future expectation from team is non worthy.

Booooooooo!!!

Looks like you're just making it obvious that this project is a fraud, are you one from the team? Well, they should know in the first place that a proper citation is to be added on every content they did. My assumption is they'll just say "it's just an error with the whitepaper creator and sorry we will delete or change this right away".

You have to admit that this raises some concerns when a newbie account with 0 posts in the last 1.5 years, starts to defend a project plagiarizing stuff with his first post on this forum..

Appears to be legit business.

Well nowadays the market seems a bit more interesting, as compared to the real world economy. Registered here sometime ago and forgot about it.

Just trying to start with some views in fringe areas of this forum. Anyways , was just shooting my mouth. Like I said , maybe was too charitable.

Anyways no harm , no foul.. will keep reading and try to keep my nose clean with less 'controversial' statements.
