Yeah I just ranked up! Back when I joined I was actually looking forward to ranking up and participating in signature campaigns here. Funny how that never worked out and then I was behind the merit gate. I remember legendster helping me a lot back then. Then there was that other guy that talked funny. Subal damudar, he's a long time member too but I never see him online..

+1 merit for you just for being honest. I liked the way you confessed how the sole intention of yours (and most people who visit and join the forum) is to get involved in a signature campaign and how beautifully you dealt with your mentality, changed it and came out being a better person than before. Now I believe that Merit is good as it teaches users the cost of hard work and knowledge here and glad to see someone actually changed due to it.
The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

I have updated the topic to give the new people joining Indian sub to introduce themselves and have a chance to gather around the fire and listen to some old men's tales related to Indian forum and bitcoin in general. This post is meant to bump this topic to relevance.
There is a pinned thread by dishwara but the people who came there did not find much response. So, I am proposing anyone new to introduce here so they can be seen and heard. Welcome again..

There is a pinned thread by dishwara but the people who came there did not find much response.
Most of the posts in dishwara's welcome topic is by scammers and newbies hunting for money, sharing off-topic posts with referral code spams, Thank You posts and something similar to that. Neither of these posts served the purpose of topic nor were helpful/informative. Well, newbies who are joining here should understand that a forum is different from a chat room. Perhaps forum users shouldn't post a single word like "Thank You", "Good Community", "Happy to part of this" but rather they should indulge in a discussion by sharing their thoughts.

Similar to bitcoin being advertised as a hyip scheme to our Indians, this forum was advertised and used as a earning ground for bounty shitposters to post their shit. Most of the Indian bounty hunters never really understand the meaning behind the creation of a discussion forum and a chatroom. This is the basis for themselves becoming a shitposter with very less knowledge gained from the forum and bitcoin as a whole.

I like your idea of reconstructing the "Welcome to Indians" topic, but can you start a new topic and write a short, catchy and helpful intro (similar to the one you have mentioned above), redirect them to some of the helpful Beginner topics (like taxes topic by webtricks, Bitcoin Status in India topic by teosanru and bitcoin resources topic by myself) along with the Raffle/lottery stuffs and other interesting discussions in the global forum?

If you reconstruct the whole thread, by creating a new topic along with listing some useful beginners links most of us can report them constantly and get it pinned as we did the earlier topics.

See this :

Welcome to Indians – The topic similar to 'Easy way to understand Bitcoin' wasn’t really helpful and has been used as a frog pond to spam with redundant posts like “Thank You”, “Pleased to be here” etc. Instead, I have thought of creating a topic (under construction) which doesn’t ruin the essence of “Welcome to Indians” topic but would be more of a decent explanatory. I would like to hear community opinions on what can we include on this topic as it could become one of the most important topics if our country got to know about bitcointalk on a larger scale.

It is really nice to see you guys supporting Indian members to rank up. I won't be posting this to gain any merits but I would like to share my experience about how I personally joined this forum. I was working as a freelancer first before I joined with bitcointalk. I am always eager to work for bitcoins/or any other coin and hence it drew me on this forum. I have tried to launch some services here but got none response yet which is because I lack with my portfolio I guess.
I'll work for some projects for free to add some projects in my portfolio and perhaps it will help me get few jobs here.

Seriously speaking, I had no intentions to join the signature campaigns to make a part-time income as I was not even aware about it before I could join this forum. (But, I have intentions to earn money by offering my services though Grin )

This forum has taught me a lot of new things which includes trading. I am finding much interest in trading only because of the "trading discussion" section which helps me a lot in my analysis.

Aspiring entrepreneur.

Indian board have very few active members compared to other local boards and we doesn't have a merit source yet and no moderator since Benson stepped down from moderating so the available members have to support each others and make this board more active and less spam.

Good to see you Rohan. checked both of your threads and you are offering a service that has a lot of competition. Yet, from what i have seen other managers do on forum, perseverance is the name of the game. Someone was asking for a free vouch on your whitepaper design page. Not sure why they think its free though.

This forum has taught me a lot of new things which includes trading. I am finding much interest in trading only because of the "trading discussion" section which helps me a lot in my analysis.

That is awesome if you are taking trading seriously. The good thing is that it can be applied as a skill outside too. I have never gotten into the nitty-gritty of candles and what not but it is always good to have members like you who are trying to be productive here at the forum. Hope to see you around often.

Hello akram. We do have a few merit sources now waiting to give merit to newbies who would like to engage. Granted its not much, but it is non-zero for sure.

^AFAIK,there is no official merit source who is active on India local board but we have few members who is hoarding lot of sMerits to spend,I guess which is enough for our community members by now but if more people comes we need merits sources who generates merits every month not from our personal earned merits.

It's good to see Indians are talking about merit and helping to others, but a year back there is no way to get merit and never seen such threads here. I left the forum long back and just started to see this lovely activity. I am hoping to reach member level soon by spending most time here.

Not a newbie, but still consider this as an intro about myself.

I clearly don't remember how I stumbled upon this forum. Most probably it would be a Google search. But back then I was focussed mainly on doing social media bounties which I later understood to be a mere waste of time to gain few useless tokens. Lately, I understood that I shouldn't be focussing on earning useless tokens rather than improving my understanding of cryptocurrencies in general. I do like the opportunity available in the forum for earning Bitcoin through signature bounties. Nowadays, browsing through the forum and reading stuff amongst my daily work schedule has become more of a habit. Happy to be part of the friendly community.

AFAIK, there is no official merit source who is active on India local board
There are 2 merit sources who are very much active in our local board. It's too bad that you still can't identify them.

Really? I am not aware of merit sources been awarded to our local baord.

I saw Heisenberg_Hunter applied to be a merit source but I thought he is awarding merits recently from personal sMerits. Lips sealed

I see that you joined around the time when merit was introduced. You said in a post that you post from mobile which tells me that you really are interested in crypto. Like everyone else, you were looking for altcoin bounties. If they still work, do what you want but I'd like to see the useful posts and contributory discussions.
Your first post says you wanted to "invest" in bitcoin. So, How about an intro then? Of course not your actual information. I have mentioned a few talking points in the OP. We can start from there..and Welcome..

Akram, Did you read the OP?

Below you can find the content the topic was originally about. Suffice to say, it'll serve the merit function too and we have quite a few merit sources available now to make your time and effort in the India-sub worth your while.
I think this merit-source excuse should no longer be the reason for people to not be active in their own sub. We are doing this just to be helpful and bump interest. My expectation is that it makes people want to be involved in the space and contribute, rather than waste time only looking for pennies in the altcoin bounties.

● Say something about how you stumbled upon bitcoin and the forum.

I have been involved in Online Marketplace Forums since 2018 to provide my services in various fields. Most of them accept crypto as transaction medium. That's when, I was introduced to crypto, mainly BTC.

I had no interest in crypto earlier but soon read a lot about Blockchain Technology and it really amaze me how it operates with transparency.

I stumbled across this forum 3 to 4 times before finally registering to it now.

● What are your expectations and what are you here for.

I have no expectation honestly. Just came here to learn mkre about crypto and connect with similar minded people.

No worries bro, I don't spat with people but on principles... As you can see I still continue to be what I was... Hahaha... But yeah I always try to be Frnds and helpful to everyone around, even those whom I'm sparring with...

Pardon regarding the UID thing, I didn't catch the phrase... 🤗🤗
