Yes, there might be a while before we see the phenomenon called the alt-season again. I don't know when it happens, but the full altcoin season might be more than a year away.

But until then, there might be a bit of price action and a few half alt seasons every now and then!

The first time i decided to invest in crypto was after the last bullrun of 2017 and i knew that 2017 was a big chance and i missed it since i never entered this space very earlier before the bullrun so after bear market takes over what comes straight to my mind was 'its never going to be easy to see a big change in market movement  like 2017'and since then i just keep my head up and find other means of living yet i cant do without investing in coins and tokens,the next altcoin season might not come anytime sooner but only those who are in hurry will be in pain,its never going to be that easy.

2017 is indeed a very exciting and profitable year for many people who invest in cryptocurrency and many people who experience the same thing as you and also many who start investing after the bullrun. It might take quite a long time for the bullrun to re-occur and of course the bullrun must occur there must be a factor affecting a very large price change, so for now I think it's better to continue to observe market developments and movements as well as the news about cryptocurrency.

If you are waiting for an altcoin season like that of the last quarter of 2017, then that could be far fetched. But in short time frame, if BTC keeps hovering between $8000-$8300, then altcoins might see some gains. The reason behind this is that the panic sentiment has increased when it comes to BTC. So, there might be a shift towards altcoins which has suffered a lot lately and thus, give better opportunities in terms of gains. But if bitcoin falls bello 8k, then there will be more in altcoins too.

When we were in 2018, we thought 2019 would be really nice with increasing alts. Now we want 2020 to be profitable. Would this be the same in 2020? Probably. Maybe we will not see a bull season in the next 3-4 years, no one can predict that in my opinion.

Not only does it require time, but there must also be factors that can increase the price of all coins so that for the moment I personally pay more attention to the development and movement of the coins I have and certainly hope that the altcoin season will come soon. I personally have the same experience as you, too late to invest before 2017 because I do not think that there will be a bullrun and for now it is an experience and learning for me.

Not only for altcoin season, i think it is same for bitcoin too.
Seems like cryptocurrency market need some time to reach the bull run like on the last time (2017).

investing in crypto does require patience. especially when we enter the crypto market after 2017. because since 2018 bitcoin has continued to decline and this has an impact on the altcoin movement which has also declined. plus now most of the ICO scams are making investors not want to invest in new ICO and altcoin. they prefer to invest in bitcoin. but I believe when bitcoin experiences a bullrun again then altcoin will also follow. even though it requires quite a long time. so we really have to be patient. no success is achieved easily we must work hard, be patient and never give up.

That's the type of scenario that could be possible. I don't see a 2017 type of alt season returning, where everything went completely bonkers. But if whales get bored playing in btc waters, I can see them moving to alts for a while. Not because they believe in alt fundamentals, or real world use, or whatever phrases that get thrown around as reasons for crypto rising in price. But it's simply because it's an opportunity to make money, at least short term -- when btc sleeps, alts might wake up ... then alts sleep again and btc could do it's crazy parabolic rise thing. And after that, winter sets in once again...
