What is this 'altcoin season' that everyone keeps writing about as if it were an established thing? 

Altcoins are going to start booming once bitcoin does.  I would think that this shouldn't take longer than a few months, once bitcoin starts to rebound and begins to creep upward toward its all time high again.  Probably in 2020 we'll see a resurgence of alts.  I know most of them aren't dead or dying, just hibernating.

I also think that bitcoin should the first one to pump first before altcoin does because as we analyzed what happened in the past few years if the bitcoin is rising up in terms of price, the market itself is becoming healthy in terms of the value of every altcoin. Just look at what happened last 2017, bitcoin really reaches twenty thousand dollars at that time, as far as I remember it was in December. It is also the highest peak of values bitcoin has reached. I believe that bitcoin is the head of all crypto, if it pumps, all crypto will pump too. But as of now, we should have wait for the right time that the market recovers as it is actually recovering right now.

It's really painful to wait for the next run. It could take more than months to stand the situation like 2017. This bear market will rise and shine again but we should be patient and hold our valuable tokens for the perfect moment or we will regret for selling those tokens then.

There is no such market cycle, it depends on the external variables which we can not predict. The crypto markets don't have seasonal-periodic timeframe cycles and trying to make a correct timing guess is near to the impossible. Altcoin season is the name of bull-run follows the high BTC prices, first, the BTC price should climb over the $15000.

In my opinion, altseason cannot be predicted based on the velocity of time. Altseason is an increase in the price of altcoin and the dominance of bitcoin on the market decreases. At the moment the dominance of bitcoin is still very strong and this causes the price of altcoin to be depressed, but in my opinion the altseason will still occur because the crypto market cannot be dominated by only one coin namely bitcoin

I never expected anything to be easy maybe thats why i dont get worried about present market price

The first time i decided to invest in crypto was after the last bullrun of 2017 and i knew that 2017 was a big chance and i missed it since i never entered this space very earlier before the bullrun so after bear market takes over what comes straight to my mind was 'its never going to be easy to see a big change in market movement  like 2017'and since then i just keep my head up and find other means of living yet i cant do without investing in coins and tokens,the next altcoin season might not come anytime sooner but only those who are in hurry will be in pain,its never going to be that easy.

You hit it correctly, the bear market will surely takes a little bit longer especially that the market right now is not moving at all. 2017 is the chance for everyone and hitting that cycle again will take some time and if you have no patience then it's better that you should stay low in order to lessen the risk.

Right now, buying and stocking currencies is the best choice and let it rest until we hit the peak of the market again as the cycle is like up and down but the problem is we don't know when it will up or goes down. So patience is very important.

Well you're right but its hard to make profit in times of bearish trend wherein majority of coins are declining.

What we can do during this season is to take advantage the situation and buy additional alts that has potential.

Altcoin return price the same as 2017 I think need time and we have wait for two years but altcoin price still down, nothing can do it how to raise up altcoin price at the other time bitcoin keep lower, how ever looking altcoin on the higher price we need moment to see bitcoin on the top price, without like this less chance to get profit with altcoin have higher price.

I think if the price of bitcoin is above, then investors will invest in altcoin which is relatively cheap. that way I think the altcoin session is coming. during these 2 years many people are disappointed with their predictions, because what is expected is not appropriate

This was one of the reasons why a lot of users invested in altcoins during 2017. They regarded altcoins as the cheaper substitute for Bitcoin. And in most cases, they were right. Many of the altcoins gave even better returns when compared to Bitcoin. For example, Bitcoin went up by 22x in 2017, while Ether went up by more than 100x. For some of the other coins such as ADA and TRX, the returns were even higher. But in 2018 when the bears gained dominance in the market, these altcoins went down by anywhere from 10x to 50x. its come to the end of the year, and the movement still same. its hard to make profit, investing in altcoin. many of them stop in the middle or they can hit exchange but the price is too low. many people wait for altcoin time, and im sure if it happen, ico will be more crowd.

altcoin season now is indeed quite difficult to find opportunities. another case with bitcoin. if you bought bitcoin early in 2019 maybe now you have multiplied profits compared to altcoin. I think the altcoin season takes 2-3 years to get back up.

according to the experts there so many good altcoins that are in dip up to 90% from there all-time high. and it's a good time to buy that altcoin in cheap price but may need proper knowledge about which altcoin is good to hold at least 6months. and al we know is crypto hold is gold.

Because trading requires proper analysis to get a large profit, and has become a risk if you get a loss. long-term investment or daily trading has its own risks and we must be prepared to accept that if one day it happens

Altcoin season will happen again in 2020 but it is still difficult to predict because now the crypto market is still in a downtrend. I think Bitcoin dominance is the only reason why altcoins cannot recover well this year. In addition, Bitcoin dominance has purified this entire market with over 80% of shitcoin being removed from the market. This is in fact a very good opportunity for new investors as they will have the opportunity to buy some cheap coins during this period.

This choice is not recommended because the risk will be very high but if the altcoin season returns, any investment will help you earn high profits. If you are lucky, you will become rich from this market.
