Ethereum is different from Bitcoin, because it is more of a smart contract platform. But for usage as a currency, Ethereum doesn't have too many advantages over Bitcoin. The transaction fee used to be low, but it has increased lately. And a few months back, Ethereum was able to briefly overtake BTC in 24-hour transaction fees. And there are a lot of cheaper alternatives available for payment, such as BCH and BSV. The ICO sector is still down (with no recovery in the horizon), and this has further dimmed the fortunes of Ethereum.

I personally prefer Ethereum and BNB to other altcoins just because they are performing well in the market. Nothing more than that I know about cryptocurrency. But I do not buy your views about ethereum and bitcoin. I think no coin will replace bitcoin as bitcoin is a founding coin of digital currency and people largely believe in it and they support it.

Eth and Btc are the two most potential alts in the marketplace. Both of these alts are surely fine, but I don't think that Eth will replace Btc in the near future. But in addition there still a lot of good alts that traders could try like the Aci coin.

This two coins have both potentials and i think its really good to hold those two coins. But replace bitcoin of ether i think its hard to happen because all those altcoins are relying on bitcoin so never one can replace it. The good thing we do now is hold bitcoin and ether for we get a good profit.

If bitcoin decreases its potentiality, it will be a good time for the Eth to take over. But for now, I don't think ETH will crossover the BTC in the cmc. But for all the alts that wants to be so potential like the BTC they have to high their standard so that traders will get in. But in addition, for all the new alts like the aci coin, time will come people here in cmc will get attached into and grows more.

It is a big advantage ig ethereum will replace btc on top because many of holders of eth will gain a lot of money by disadvantage on btc holders as well, and i have a coin that is good for investment and this coin is the ACI COINS.

If and only if the bitcoin has been replaced by ethereum, many of investors will not gonna trust ethereum so easily because they are loyal supporters of the bitcoin. But we all know that this is impossible since all of the investors really trust and supports it that is why it is impossible to be replaced. The support and the trust of the investors is the main reason why bitcoin is still on the top.
To be frank how many users you can identify as loyal supports and how long they will support if there are no incentives, not much and i am sure about it as the loyalty and love will sustain as long as they are having the benefit and when that disappears there will be small group with real passion irrespective of the profit who wants to see the project succeed. If people understand the real difference between bitcoin and ETH then we will not have these comparisons Tongue.

Actually without bitcoin the ethereum will not born they are likely the same as a business with lots of competitors but they have differences to attract customer to buy or take their service. So there is no difference of both of this crypto but since bitcoin is already been tested for many years and it was alive for a long time until now bitcoin should be still place as the top crypto.

Decided to end it with zer0 profit.

That was impossible even it is possible, it takes too long because bitcoin was better in any altcoin. They need to get or overtake bitcoin from everything especially on the demand and also in all wallet that Bitcoin that are belong or some wallet that are only altcoin do have in all wallet.

Personally, I think it's going to be something very interesting and super-large event if Ethereum replaces Bitcoin. But this won't happen as Bitcoin Ethereum is now in its place and is promisingly developing for the benefit of society. And I hope we will soon be shocked by the most important coins with their new discoveries.

I don't know what will happen in the future, can ethereum be a substitute for bitcoin in the future? Ethereum does have a lot of diversity as you mentioned above and bitcoin is the parent of crypto. So in my opinion bitcoin will remain number 1 and ethereum will occupy an important position in the crypto world with all the features and facilities that are very beneficial for the crypto world.

there will definitely be changes in the future, because as we know every new product has at least a better idea and the old product in this case is bitcoin at least there will definitely be a time to be replaced. so i guess it doesn't matter because as long as they can continue to make it better or continue to develop i don't think it's a problem, but to be able to replace bitcoin won't happen quickly and i'm just sure it will take a long time
Anything can happen later and it is true what you say that if there is a new project that brings a good idea and the team behind it tries as much as possible to develop the project I think there will be a change in cryptocurrency later. But for ETH itself, I don't think ETH will replace BTC and I think BTC will be in the top position for quite a long time.

There is no direct competition among cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin and ethereum works on entirely different model. Bitcoin competitive advantage is its capped supply and first mover whereas ethereum has smart contracts.
They are not at all competing with each other.

It will never be possible. Because Bitcoin's technology is not possible to take over. Ethereum requires the use of many updated technologies. But I don't know if Ethereum has any technology of its own.

Considering the differences between the two currencies, it will be wrong to compare them, or to debate about one of them replacing the other. Ethereum belongs to a different category of cryptocurrency, and it will never be able to replace Bitcoin. Remember these facts while comparing the two:

1. Ethereum is more of a smart contract platform, rather than a pure cryptocurrency which can be used for payment purposes
2. ETH had a premine of close to 60% of its total supply, while BTC never had any premine
3. The identity of ETH inventor is known and he had made a lot of wealth from his invention. On the other hand, Satoshi Nakamoto remains anonymous and he has never tried to make cash from his invention
4. The BTC developers have acted quick and removed obstacles faced by the users (SegWit, Lightning.etc), while the ETH developers have been very slow to fix their bugs.
5. ETH will be moving to PoS mining algorithm, while BTC will be sticking with PoW.

Ethereum, being the world's second largest cryptocurrency by market cap, has all the potential of replacing Bitcoin in the future. It's more than just a cryptocurrency, being a platform for the development and execution of smart contracts (aka dApps). With ETH, it's possible to launch alternative cryptocurrencies without the need to start a Blockchain from scratch. It's also possible to use the ETH blockchain for other purposes such as voting, proof of identity, verification of documents, and more. In contrast, Bitcoin's only use is for finance where it cannot be implemented in other areas by its own.

Given all of the benefits Ethereum provides on top of Bitcoin, it makes me wonder whenever it'll be able to replace the pioneer cryptocurrency within the future? As long as, Ethereum keeps progressing in development and mainstream acceptance, it'll be much closer to Bitcoin every step of the way. What are your thoughts? Huh
We will be dependents to the big investors with regards to the future of ethereum as they are the source of demand and once the demand of ethereum will surge then it will surely replace bitcoin.

But right now big  whales are favoring bitcoin so the chances to replace bitcoin in the next five years is very difficult, let's just hope that they will change their mind as soon as possible as I saw also the potential of ethereum.

Your opinion is more about technology, but you do not know that this market is more about manipulating prices. Everyone knows that ETH and EOS are technologically superior coins than bitcoin. But here we are not interested in technology, it is only a very small part of the growth. In fact, the market is working on a pump and dump price so people can make money every day. Sharks will figure out how to manipulate and make the most money, while small fish like us look at the chart to predict sharks' psychology. This is a vicious circle of people, who invest in technology will often die.

It has a chance to recover but by substitute it would never be happen because bitcoin was the most famous until soon. There are a lot of information of bitcoin than ethereum so it would not be happen.

I think if eth replaced bitcoin someday, then maybe the world has started to use blockchain technology in many services in life and apply them in so many fields, because bitcoin can be viewed like exchangeable currency, and eth as exchange currency in a huge ecosystem where many companies thrive on that platform

Eth will not replace Bitcoin, it needs to be remembered, Ethereum can be a payment tool other than Bitcoin, but to replace it will not be able, Bitcoin has always been the first choice for the world
