I'm very pessimistic toward Real Madrid. They're not as good as they used to be. They have no good midfielder to feed their attackers. They rely too much on Modric. Their attackers are also very inconsistent.

I disagree with saying that El Clasico is only hot when Ronaldo and Messi are there. In my opinion, El Clasico is still hot even though Ronaldo and Messi are no longer there because the rivalry between the two clubs has been going on for a long time, even before Ronaldo and Messi were also very hot when El Clasico happened. Antonio Rudiger and Eder Militao are two strong center backs in Real Madrid's back line, so I wouldn't doubt their defensive abilities. These two center backs have proven their worth in many matches, but you can never expect them to be perfect without mistakes and weaknesses. Real Madrid certainly have problems in defense especially at both left and right back, they are weak without Carvajal on the right, but Mendy is sometimes good on the left.
