Barcelona has named a strong line up for the first game of the season withe two of the new players (Gundogan and Romeu) making their debut.
I expect a routine victory for Barca despite playing away from home or what will be home for this season.

With the injuries rocking Madrid, Barcelona has a chance to take advantage should they slip up early on in the season and would have to handle their end of business to make that happen.

I've reviewed the line-up and formation Xavi used away from Getafe. Admittedly this is a bit different as it seems Xavi has put Oriol Romeu in central midfield instead of defensive midfield. Xavi also didn't play in a 3-attack formation today where Pedri got the job as an attacking midfielder. I don't know if it will work or not, but I think Barcelona will win this match.

Hopefully Barcelona won't have too much trouble winning their first game. Ilkay Gundogan and Oriol Romeu are getting their debuts soon and I hope they really can be expected to do as well as their coaches and fans want them to. Regarding the final score, my guess is 0-2 for Barcelona's first win this season.

At first the normal expectation would be that Barcelona wins this, but I have to say that I am also a bit surprised about their formation and the line-up in general. This doesn't make the quality of their squad much lower per se, but I think it is kind of unexpected and the players might not be used to it. I don't know, but it is one of these Barcelona games. They control the ball essentially all the time, but can't turn the possession into dangerous attacks or goals yet.

It was definitely a decent game, I feel like it has to be something like this all game long every game if you ask me. I get that it is going to be tough without a striker, but sometimes they will play like this and even with Benzema or Mbappe they will still have their good midfielders score. Looks like they played alright, obviously a team much lower level than them but at the end of the day they still got the win.

Hopefully they will do well enough in the future and keep playing like this. Ancelotti has a tough job, won the league and UCL a year prior, lost both last season, and now has no striker this season. All those looks like they are getting worse, if he can turn the ship around, that would be a good thing for them.

They have done a very decent job by beating  Athletico Bilbao in their opening match. I thought they weren't going to win that match because when I saw they gave them 2.18 odds,I was even scared of adding them to my ticket,but they won with the odd,and this winning has so many points to prove. They proved that they could still win games without their main striker who just left to another team.They also proved that they don't really need a striker to rely on in the team anymore,atleast every body is capable of winning games,and I would say that if Ancelotti keeps on building that pattern and giving them that mentality that any player in the team can score,it will really be good for the team because they will win games without hoping on any particular player on the field to score,everybody will be placed with the responsibility to score goals.

You know, Getafe really seems to have managed to provoke some of the Barcelona players with their tough game. Some of the violent fouls committed by the Getafe players made several Barcelona players emotional which in the end Raphinha made unnecessary mistakes. It seems unsportsmanlike because I think it's wrestling in some segments, but it's a successful strategy for Getafe.

Raphinha was shown a red card after his elbow hit Gastón Álvarez in the face, this would completely change Barcelona's chances of winning the game. The first half was nothing but Raphinha had some good chances.

Getafe which will be Barcelona opponent, doesn't seem like a great opponent for Barcelona because statistically in the last 5 matches (Barcelona vs Getafe) Getafe never won. But yes I would probably agree with you sir, Barcelona may will be have a slight pressure there to get the three points, also considering Getafe probably won't let Barcelona steal points from them so easily.

In the first half the referee had to issue 4 yellow cards and 1 red card which indicated that this match was very tough and full of drama. I saw several times that Getafe players committed strong fouls on Barcelona players such as Lewandowski, Raphinha and also Ilkay Gundogan, but the funny thing was that the referee seemed to ignore it as if nothing had happened. Damián Suárez, Carles Alena, and several other players seem to have really followed the coach's instructions where at first it was just a way to intimidate the Barcelona players, but in the end this has made the match no longer fun to watch.

I don't know, maybe this is the best way not to lose to Barcelona which is a team that is superior to them. To be honest that I don't see this as an interesting match, but very boring.

This Barcelona team have started with this struggling system at the beginning of the season and at the end it would be them celebrating as champions, but is not going to be that way this time around.
Being the reigning Champions I expected something different from what I'm seeing now, still playing draw till the second half with a red card is something Xavi needs to worry about because this is going to be a big blow for them if the home team get a goal at this time, but if Barcelona gets a goal it will end as a draw because I don't see them defending till the end of this game.

This Barcelona team have started with this struggling system at the beginning of the season and at the end it would be them celebrating as champions, but is not going to be that way this time around.

The first game of the season for Barcelona was quite interesting
Raphinha had to take an early shower but now both teams were down to 10 men after Jaime Mata also picked up a second yellow card and had to be sent off following Raphinha.

60 minutes on the clock now and the score remains unchanged. Is it going to be a draw in the end? I think it's a shame if it has to be that way and Barcelona will have to make some noise to make this match go well for them because for the first match against Getafe it would be a shame if they only share 1 point.

Sevilla losing from Valencia at home, Real Sociedad could not beat Girona, and Villareal losing from Betis in last moments of the match today.
Barcelona is struggling against Getafe and both teams have red cards, so anything is possible in this match.

Barcelona Winning last season La liga, not the championship you need to correct that typo error, Barcelona's general performance since the last season has indeed been remarkably incredible and I hope they will continue in the same trends in the new season,  scoring and winning with 1:0 goals I the last season is ok but playing 0:0 at 80+ minutes in the opening leg in the current season against a smaller club in the La Liga Getafe is a bigger challenge for the club starting the season on such note.
Anyways,  the match is not ended yet but currently, the odds are not in favour of Barcelona,  since Getafe players are already locking their defence to be able to walk away with a draw in the match.

I don't follow prediction pools but Valencia win over Sevilla was expected. This Barca game to finish with less goals is also expected result. Villarreal lost to Real Betis in last minute goal, that was unlucky for them. Maybe we can call Osasuna win a surprise but Celta is far from their good days. Aspas haven't scored in 5 months and without him Celta don't have many scoring options.
Actually there are good opportunities in La Liga for those who follow the league closely.

It turned into even more action than just the one red card. Getafe conceded a red card as well in the 57th minute and it was 10 cards in total for the game.

For Barcelona the draw is terrible as they have had full control over the game but go home with empty hands regardless. But hey they once again finished a game with a clean sheet and that is what saved them the La Liga title last season.

Barcelona had a really poor start more like they did last season , they screwed up the game tonight which they should have defended the competition they want successfully.
They game was tough but they will bounce back stronger and better in the next game. They can not take this mentality unto playing the Champions league else they will not win.

Apparently the match between Getafe and Barcelona is difficult to predict even though initially I was sure Barcelona could win it. Getafe really made it difficult for Barcelona because they defended well, but that doesn't mean Barcelona have zero opportunities. Barcelona's attempts were partially missed today and the game didn't go to plan. Raphinha failed to finish the match because he was awarded a special gift in the first match by the referee with a red card and that has changed many plans throughout the second half.

In the end a goalless draw was inevitable even though Getafe were also sent off in the second half. Barcelona failed to win their first game of the season despite a good form. The referee was a bit controversial, but that's not the reason why Barcelona only managed to get 1 point.

What is clownery? I'm not talking about the score, but about the fact that the teams played a total of 27   minutes of extra time   I see that there were removals of players, a lot of pauses, etc. but what kind of nonsense is this when 90 minutes turn into 117?

This must be from a Real Madrid fan, because Barcelona is always your toughest opponent; however, this is just the start of the season, and while no one wants to lose some points, that's the game of football; we'll make it up in the next games, and I'm still proud we didn't lose the match despite the red cards.

The match between Getafe and Barcelona was quite tense if you look at the final result because Getafe was able to withstand the onslaught of attacks carried out by Barcelona so that a draw was the final result of this match. I thought that before this match started Barcelona could easily get full points in this match, but Getafe, who played defensively, was able to make it difficult for Barcelona players to score goals in this match.

Not a good start but a draw was a big lesson for Xavi to be able to bring his team to victory in the next match. If you look at the statistics, Barcelona certainly played quite impressive in this match, but they failed to score because many golden opportunities were wasted.

Let's not engage in hook-making, because La Liga in any case is a classic championship in essence, unlike the cup, in which trademark it would not be wrapped, whether it be La Liga, Ligue 1, Serie A Well, this is just the first round, and a smooth championship is a long distance, so losses are inevitable and it's better to lose 2 points in the first round on the opponent's field than when it's time for decisive matches. In the meantime, let's pay attention to the fact that Real Madrid broke out 2 points ahead in the confrontation.
