Barcelona has shown significant form at the start of the season and the victory over Madrid in El Classico has previously made them favourites to win this season, but the defeat from Real Sociedad in week 13 has changed the situation in La Liga at the moment because Barcelona difficult to maintain their consistency in the league afterwards, so slowly Madrid and Atletico were able to catch up and even started to leave Barcelona at the moment with a difference of 5 points, Barcelona chances of winning La Liga are still open but Barcelona need to show consistency in winning to close the gap in the remaining matches, in addition to hoping Madrid and Atletico will experience a decline in form in the second half of this season.

If Madrid are to win, they need to beat Barca's high line defense and if Barcelona are to win, they need to cut through Real Madrid midfield and defense. I expect goals in the match.

The question is: Would Real Madrid take advantage of the fact that Barcelona isn't in their best form lately?  Barcelona won Madrid during the beginning of the season when some key Madrid players went on injury and were able to defeat Real Madrid on that advantage during their first encounter; therefore Madrid should take advantage of the fact that Barcelona is currently not in their best form and should keep winning every encounter they have going forward.

It's nothing new because in the previous seasons if I'm not mistaken, when Real Madrid was firmly at the top of the standings, but in the El Clasico match Barcelona still managed to beat Real Madrid, and vice versa. So about the results that occurred this season for me personally, it is still a common result, because basically, to maintain the top position throughout the season is not easy, moreover Barcelona still has financial problems and  not only the player injury factor.

But, if the question is, will Barcelona return to the top of the standings, I think the chance will always be there but it certainly won't be easy. Every team can certainly experience ups and downs in their performance, as happened to Barcelona and Real Madrid. At the beginning of the season Barca performed brilliantly, unfortunately in several matches they struggled to get full points to maintain their position at the top of the La Liga standings. On the other hand, their rivals Real Madrid experienced a few obstacles plus several players suffered injuries. However, Real Madrid is a big team, they have qualified players in almost every line even though some of them are injured. We can see the current standings, Real Madrid is at the top, five points ahead of Barcelona. Barcelona has only one win in the last five games at la liga, which is the reason why people did not expected them to do well. The fact that they managed to win against Bilbao wasn't something expected, not because Barcelona is usually bad team or anything, but because they looked like they were just in a rump and because of that they were on a bad momentum. However, with this win over Bilbao, they are looking better now and that is definitely a benefit.

So, can they beat Real Madrid? I still do not think so, I still think Real Madrid will win, but at the very least I believe we are not going to have an easy recovery here, Barcelona may still play very well and they could make it very difficult for Real Madrid to win the game as well. Yes, that's right. After Barcelona defeated Real Madrid in the first El Clasico everyone would have said that this season's La Liga would belong to Barcelona. But in reality, the opposite is true, after defeating Real Madrid Barcelona's performance was inconsistent which made Atletico and Real Madrid succeed in overtaking Barcelona in the standings. Indeed, La Liga is still long but with the mentality that Barcelona currently has, I am sure they will have difficulty overtaking Real Madrid, especially since Real Madrid has now found its best performance. At the beginning of the season people saw Barcelona as much more potential to be a candidate for champion because they played much better and even the wins they got were much more promising. But now everything is different and Barcelona is starting to experience a decline in performance so that they were thrown to third place in the standings and Real Madrid is back in first place. That's a significant difference and maybe we never predicted this to happen because we saw Barcelona playing much more consistently at the beginning of the season.

This is not just a normal competition, if you are talking about sunday El Clasico the final will be very tough, previously Barcelona dominated with 4 goals ahead of Real Madrid, not this time around, we don't expect Madrid to fall for the second time in same season. Absolutely right. If I am not busy on that day or have any friends pass by to what the match with me, I am definitely going to do GG or over 2.5 on the live match after watching 10 -15 minutes of it.
