It was really unexpected performance from the Real Madrid team on first half, although they have the most match position in this match and as well they were playing aggressive but something is missing on their performance.
I thought against Espanyol, Real Madrid  attackers will played smooth roll but they only meet on short on target what is also done by Espanyol. Its Pretty sad that if this way the next time pass there is a high prove ability of draw in this match. Even then I still believe that Real Madrid team will win this match by at least one goal. Real Madrid dominate the whole match, but I don't understand what their problem is, they never managed to score a goal, and even lost the match. This is the first defeat for them in a long time, it seems that Barcelona will really have a chance to join the championship race, especially if Real play again. I wouldn't get my hopes up for the latter though, because that rarely happens

Real Madrid are so relaxed in the game that they hardly pushed attack despite the opponent sitting back in their own half. Although Real Madrid would have been a goal up from Vini wonderful curl into the bottom corner, but Mbappe happened to foul a defender before the strike, so the goal was chopped off.

Real Madrid were so relaxed in the game, they played as if they are leading the table with 20 points, they are not serious so long as this game is concerned. Espanyol is battling relegation, it was supposed to be an easy win for the leaders but they decided to be complacent towards that and it has cost them 3 points.

The defeat experienced by Real Madrid certainly gave a significant impression to the bettor, Yes, an unpredictable defeat because they faced a weak team where Real Madrid lost points, even though they managed to launch many attacks but none of them managed to finish into goals.

As a Real Madrid fan, I don't want to sound too demanding but I think Real Madrid players are finding it difficult to maintain a good run of form and if nothing is done about it, it'll likely deny the club the opportunity of retaining the Spanish La Liga title this season. After a goalless first half, I was expecting Real Madrid players to intensify their efforts in the second half so they can break Espanyol's defense and score goals but it turned out that the home team came in to the second half with higher determination of winning the game which was why the won. Real Madrid dominated the game no doubt but I think Espanyol showed more winning mentality tonight which was why they were rewarded with all three points.

The Real Madrid players performed the worst in this match, although there was enough danger of attack, they could not succeed in attacking, it was their own failure. I did not see any similarity between these three players, Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, they attacked from anywhere and as they said. These attacks were usually in vain.
Their number of attacks in the whole match was 21 and the opposing team Espanyol only attacked 6. Despite having so few attacks, they were successful, but the failure of the Real Madrid players blinded them, and each player showed the most interest in scoring with their own feet and many balls from outside the box were aimed at the goalposts, which went outside the goalposts but the attacks were in vain.
 However, I want to say that if the Real Madrid players' violent attitude is not eliminated, I think it is normal that they will perform badly even against such a normal team.

Yeah it was a bit of a surprise for us after Real Madrid's consistent play in the last few matches but today they had to lose, of course no one thought this would happen but luck is on everyone's side. This defeat will open up opportunities for Atletico Madrid and Barcelona to catch up like Atletico Madrid need 2 more points to take over while Barcelona need 7-8 points. Basically so far we can't say who is closest to the title because each team is in an unsafe position, being 1-4 points behind is not something impossible to catch up.

By the way this week Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will fight each other on February 9th well, this is an important match for both teams and the winner will be at the top of the standings, Real Madrid have the advantage of playing at home but still there is no guarantee they can win easily moreover, Real Madrid has a busy schedule in the next 2 weeks including the Champions League and Copa del Rey.

I definitely agree with you if there is any team I don’t actually give full support to in a league competition it is Real Madrid. Currently they have the best squad in the world base on individual brilliance but seriously they don’t have the cohesion of a team to play good football. The team seems to be lacking chemistry and I can relate this to the Galacticos of Raul, Young Ronaldo, Kaka and the rest of the them, They couldn’t win titles like the way many would have thought just because of the hype around them.

For now I think the league has just been thrown wide open, should Real Madrid lose their next game then it will mean by Barcelona will be just few points away with Atletico Madrid ahead of them. For now I think the odd will still have Real Madrid as the favourites because even with the inconsistency they seem to be better than the other teams.

Real Madrid have not played this bad in a long time. They did not play the match as people that are playing a weaker team instead the match was just as dull as anything. I think at this point, Espanyol deserve the win since Real Madrid did not play like they wanted the win. Espanyol even missed several goals that would have made them score more goals than they did score, although Vinicius Jr also had put the ball inside net but such was disallowed, it was a fantastic finishing, similar to the goal scored by Mo Salah earlier today against Bournemouth.  This match just made the league title a little opened for competition between the majorly Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid and by extension Barcelona.
