Real Madrid continue to chase Barcelona for the lead. The gap is still 1 point after their win over Valencia. By the way I can't say I'm very impressed with their game in that one.

Next time they are going to host Real Sociedad which is in 4 days. They have been winning in the La Liga for 8 weeks in a row! It is better than Barcelona's recent form. I expect it to be 9 weeks with this game...

It is clear that both teams have not been in their best forms this season especially in European competitions, Barcelona is struggling financially with their debt in hand, Even if Madrid has a good form of 8 weeks winning run, they still struggle in their style of play, they tend to rely on Mbappe's individual brilliance, I also know that Mbappe is always dangerous ingoal scoring, a world class player,he is currently the top scorer in Laliga as well as the Champions League, but other world class players like Vini jr, Rodrygo are also good at this.I think they should have their say, Madrid should forget about individual brilliance and use the quality players they have .

Madrid should be recording this  2025/2026 Laliga title as theirs as Barca are having a slack.Barca has  4.5billion euro in debt, they are also having issue in registering their players, this is an opportunity for Madrid to claim the title even after losing the supercopa to their rivals

Despite their display in this tournament, Barcelona is still standing in a good position to lift this laLiga league trophy, because Villarreal and Atletico Madrid will not make them to over come Real Madrid and Barcelona to start toping all the clubs in the laLiga league table.

Despite Real Madrid closing the points gap with Barcelona, I don't see them lifting the La Liga trophy because currently Barcelona is the best team in La Liga and considered the favorite to win the La Liga trophy honestly I don't have doubt about this. Real Sociedad has remained undefeated in their last six matches and will like to maintain that streak against Real Madrid. Although Real Madrid is the favourites and and their performance has been improving, but we'll see if they can overcome Sociedad.

Barcelona on the other hand are way better off but you can never tell what the future will present as they are various factors that can actually influence their steady performance and one of them is actually the possibility of injury on the squad although am not wishing them any but it's a possibility and it's a fact.

Real Madrid and Barcelona chances to win the title are not far from each others. Maybe Barcelona looks fit right now but they have their bad moments. Same goes for Real Madrid. It requires more time to get a clearer view.
For the third and fourth places, they will be shared by Villarreal and Atletico Madrid. Villarreal has an advantage over ATM. The other places might change hands over time.

If Real Sociedad wants to keep their winning streak, then they should be praying to face another team and not Real Madrid because they won’t have a chance to keep the winning streak going with Real Madrid as their next opponent to face in the La Liga. As much as they want to keep their winning streak going, they’ll also need to remember that Real Madrid wants to close on the gaps between them and Barcelona which is very very important for them to stand a chance for the La Liga title. This will be a rather tough match for Real Sociedad to prevail on and a chance for Real Madrid to earn another three points as they battle for the top place on the table.

On the one hand with this result (if the score does not change) then certainly Villarreal will shift Atletico in position 3 and that is a very good thing for them because with this condition their chance to be in the Champions League next season is increasingly open.

The score changed very close to FT and Villarreal conceded, so Atletico Madrid still maintains the third place on the Laliga table.

Champions league! Villarreal displayed a very poor performance in this season champions league and they were eliminated, so I hope they increase their champions league performance even if they later qualify next season which I think they will.

It was a little regrettable when Villarreal conceded a goal in normal time with only 2 minutes left but it doesn't matter because I don't think even if 3rd place can't get them now but it's only a matter of time if Atletico is still doing the same thing and Villarreal is still in good form like this.

Their condition is still very good now even though in the previous 3 matches they had lost momentum but with a big win against Espanyol yesterday this made their confidence increase and I am quite sure that Villarreal can be more than this.
In addition, they also still have 1 match left at the moment because they have only completed 22 matches in La Liga but for other clubs including Atletico have run 23 weeks so this is clearly an undeniable advantage for Villarreal if they can make good use of this situation.

Real Madrid's issues with Vinicius Junior's contract might be coming to an end. The rumours are they will make a U-turn and give him what he wants. This apparently can jeopardise Real's chances of signing up Jurgen Klopp as the manager, as apparently one of Klopp's main demands is/was that Real sells Vinicius Junior this summer, as he doesn't see him in his team.

Jurgen Klopp never said he won’t be needing Vinicius in his squad and there isn’t any public disagreement between this two either , I guess it’s all speculation and has nothing to do with klopp’s arrival.
Vinicius is the main player in that club at the moment, loosing him is more like losing their back bone , it will cripple them for a while..forget about available suitable replacement.

They can’t afford to loose him so they have to consider his request else clubs are ready  to sign him with even more than what he’s requesting from Realmadrid  .

I don't see many, perhaps only two, that is if they are even interested in him. Players, especially attackers are now very expensive and clubs are also trying as much as possible not to breach the financial fair play rules or run their accounts dry due to reckless expenditure.

It true that Barcelona may be leading Madrid in the laliga table but that doesn't means that they can't bounce back. As far as am concerned the title race is still open to either Barcelona or Madrid to win looking at the points gap only one points separate these two teams and this is just week 23 in the Laliga fixture so you shou not be too comfortable saying that madrid may not win the the league despite their recent performance that has been impressive.


I have to give kudos to the Madrid players from the way that, they have been able to play after the departure of their former Manager Alonso, because it's not always easy wit a team when ever there is a change in management of a team. But we did not experience that with Madrid as the players adopted well to the new coach and his tactics.

Real Madrid still has the opportunity, I agree with you about this, basically the competition is still ongoing and the league is still long until it can reach the end point, Barcelona's current advantage is only 1 point, it is very natural that many people say that it is very possible for Madrid to actually retaliate in the upcoming El Clasico match, who knows about that, it's just that Madrid is not stable now in my opinion.

Atletico Madrid had to stumble as they lost to Real Betis at their own ground which must have been very embarrassing. Antony's only goal in the 28th minute was a nightmare for them in this match. Since the beginning I have seen the great potential of Real Betis to be able to beat the host and sure enough it happened in this match.

This result makes them further away from the 2 teams above and at the same time makes them closer to the team below them, especially Villareal also has 2 matches yet to be played. It seems that Atletico Madrid will drop positions if Villareal succeeds in the 2 matches they will play.

A great win for Betis for sure. They finally get the win against ATM in away game after 15 years. I like the way they played. Pellegrini's tactic is really working here by putting ever one to do maximal defense aka "parking bus". His tactic really frustrated ATM.

It is not certain who will lift the La Liga trophy. You and I don't know that. It can be Madrid or Barcelona, one of them will surely be the champion. Real Madrid are the doing their best to stay on Barcelona's tail, not closing the gap will only mean one team, that the title will be harder for them to challenge. For me, Real Madrid can win Real Sociedad. I never thought they could win Valencia so easily. I wont be surprised if they win Real Sociedad.

I mean, without having to undermine team effort and how much chances the team has got to create to give Mbappe the chance for a good finish, Mbappe has being the shots that saw Real Madrid to several 3 points this season while, Vini Jnr isn’t getting enough playing time. Klopp in Real Madrid… well, his an experienced manager and could be capable of some good. I think all that he wouldn’t want with Vini Jnr is his protesting nature but even that is worse in Mbappe once he gets too comfortable in a team.

promise444c5 you claim that Vinicius Junior is the most important player for Real Madrid, but that is not what the numbers suggest. So far he has scored 6 goals this season and he was labeled the best player in the world not too long ago. I think those statistics are quite poor. He is arrogant, he is egoistic, he lacks morals, he is expensive and he rarely scores goals. I don't see why Real Madrid should be dependent on him. I think it is quite the opposite and when you think that many other clubs would want him, I doubt it. Great coaches like Guardiola or Klopp don't like characters like Vinicius Junior. They actually hate it.

As logfiles says it wouldn't be possible financially for many clubs anyway, and if those clubs who can afford him have the choice between several players, they would rather get another attacker who is a better team player and who understands how to work for the benefit of the team instead of for themselves only. Vinicius Junior is done. He will score a great goal from time to time, there is no doubt about that. But he will be stuck where he now is as he doesn't have what it takes to be recognized as the best player in the world for several years. He had his moment and that's it. Yamal, Raphinha, Mbappe, Haaland, Olise, Kane, Musiala,... the list of players who are better than him is so long. He is a wing player I know, but still an attacker and as such he should have much better statistics. He gets outcompeted by dozens of players.

For some times now, Real Madrid play, has been on the shoulder of Kylian Mbappe, and this is not new any longer. He has placed himself to be the one that give the team a 3 points in every single game they played.
Imagine that Real Madrid go trophiless this season, what are we going to see with all the efforts that Mbappe has placed on this team. Are we going to say the team is not ready for a trophy with him.

Diego Simeone has mentioned leaving Atletico Madrid this summer after managing this team for fifteen years, and one of the reasons is because he probably doesn't see a future right now with this team. While he has done as good as he can, and even had periods where he took the team to league title, it's clear that no matter how much the team spends, they are far away from Barcelona and Real Madrid levels and it's tough to do better.

He probably wants to just go to a team where he can finally have some budget that can fight for a title better. This is why I hoped that he would go to Manchester United, but with Carrick doing this great, it seems like that may not be in the plans neither. So I am not sure where he will go next.

Yes,, I also agree that Real Madrid's players performed poorly in that match. If Real Madrid could have performed better,, they would have scored more goals. But we have to understand that Real Madrid's performance is currently lacking. Therefore, their performance is less than optimal. Furthermore, speaking of Real Madrid's upcoming match, I think Real Madrid will likely struggle to win this match,, as Real Sociedad's performance is clearly better than Valencia's.

Therefore,, I think Real Madrid's potential to lose this match is quite high. But I think Real Madrid's players will definitely fight harder and won't let themselves lose this match. Of course, Sociedad will be a tough opponent for Real Madrid. Last month, Real Sociedad defeated Barcelona and looking at the results of the past matches, it can be assumed that they will not be easy for Real Madrid to win the match. Real Madrid is winning matches and is ahead on points but from their form it can be assumed that they will probably draw or lose against Sociedad. I would not be surprised if they win. You have already stated the obvious creeper, it is going to be extremely difficult for Atletico Madrid to contend for the league’s title this season and based on the huge gap between them and the second position holders which is Real Madrid, it is going to be extremely difficult for them to make any statements now. Every club including Real Madrid and Barcelona are on top of their games right now so it will be difficult for any club who’s even 5 points behind them to catch up with them because even the Real Madrid seems not to give up despite the team facing some serious challenges with their performance. Atletico Madrid coming third isn’t still bad and it is an avenue for them to reflect back and come stronger next season for a better opportunity.
