Frankly, I was quite surprised to find out  that Barcelona lost to Atletico Madrid ... It wasn't because of the loss, but because they conceded four goals without reply. This is still the first leg, but I am doubtful that  Barcelona can turn things around in the second leg, even though they have the advantage of playing at home. It's pointless to have good  ball possession if your defense coordination is poor. Barcelona may win the second leg, but scoring more than four  goals seems like a very daunting mission.

I think Barcelona surprised many of us yesterday. Even if I considered that they might lose, I thought it would be by no more than one goal, but I definitely did not expect 4-0. Now I think Flick can calmly focus on La Liga and the Champions League because Atletico are strong enough to hold such an advantage in the second leg.

Atletico Madrid 4 Vs Barcelona 0 FT
The first leg of the Copa del Rey semi final is still a shocker to most of us, what a score line, sometimes I wished it was a league match that this happened. Barcelona dominated the game with the ball as usual while Atletico Madrid were busy scoring the goals, it's like, ok Barcelona you can keep the ball while we score the goals, fair deal. Ademola Lookman and Alvarez combined to score goal number 3 and 4 among themselves. 4 goal at HT, mehhn this is really incredible and looks like a dream still to me, if it were the other way round, it won't have made waves like this though. We await the return leg at Camp Nou.

What a disaster this is for Barcelona. How could they be so humiliated by Atletico Madrid with such a crushing defeat? It was truly shocking to see the final result, a 4-0 defeat. Can Barcelona pull off a comeback in the second leg? I think it's unlikely.

After watching the Copa Del Rey semifinal first leg between ATM and Barça I feel very disappointed and ashamed of our performance, the first half tactics was just off and the boys were not giving us what we know they can do, injuries are not an excuse it shouldn’t have been 4 but it’s good it ended at 4 it could also have been worse.

I feel sad but somehow the Nigerian in me wants to rejoice with Ademola Lookman, his addition to ATM has really improved their game and has helped Julian Alvarez break his goal drought.

FIFA impose ban for Athletic Bilbao to sign new players for the three windows and unable to register new players until 2028. It means Bilbao will unable to sign players for the next 2026 summer,  2026 winter, and 2027 summer window again. I thought that it was UEFA, but the report said FIFA.
I was curious whether it was true or not, then i went to FIFA's registration ban site, and i found Bilbao there. So this ban is real.



I'm feeling curious what kind of reason trigger them to impose ban to Bilbao. I've heard a rumor Bilbao unable to fulfill their players right, but i'm wondering whether it's related to the Nico's transfer? Curious to see further explanation by them. any opinion regarding this?

i think most soccer fans were wrong in their predictions last night. the game was a nightmare for barcelona from the start. after the first half ended 4-0 with goals coming one after another, i started to wonder where the game was headed, but thankfully it didn't get any worse. in the second half, atlético madrid defended brilliantly, holding onto that incredible score for another 45 minutes and putting their stamp on a historic match. still, simeone should be worried about the second leg. when barcelona beat psg 6-1, i'm sure almost no one believed they could advance before the match.

There were rumors that Diego Simeone was about to get sacked after around 13 years as an Atletico Madrid coach. Such wins as this one against Barcelona are a proof that Simeone should be kept at all cost by Atletico, despite the lack of consistent results throughout the season so far. I've always had the feeling that Barcelona is about to suffer a humiliating defeat with Hans-Dieter Flick as a coach. Their defense is far from perfect and the own-goal proves this. Barcelona had to sign better defenders, but they are just too focused on developing a more attacking style, I guess.

From my own point of view Barcelona is already out of the competition because Atletico has four goals advantage over them. Don't forget that Atletico is good at playing a defensive game. All they need to do in the second leg is just to go and park their bus and Barcelona will struggle to score a goal talk more, of two or more.

I didn't expect a poor performance from Barcelona and a porous defense which gave Atletico the chance to penetrate and got fout goals in 45 minutes. A clean sheet for that matter.

I don't think Barcelona is coming back from this one, the goal margin is much, so I think they are out for this cup competition. Atletico Madrid on the other hand did a very good job, they not really interested in possession,  but they took their chances when they get it. I could have been more than 4 goals like you mentioned. Anyways a big shout out to Ademola Lookman for his performance,  I think he really fit the style of the team and I pray he continues to do more and even go on to win trophies with the team.

Barcelona did not perform well in the defense department in this match, and Barcelona had to concede four goals from the beginning of the game until halftime. Atletico Madrid performed quite well, and they exerted a huge defensive influence in the defense department until the end of the game. Barcelona was in extreme danger in this match, because the next game Barcelona must win by a large margin, otherwise they will not be able to reach the final match. And there is another chance, so Barcelona must win this chance, otherwise they will be knocked out of this series.

The players were able to implement the instructions given by coach Simeone from the early stages of the match, which made it easy for Atletico Madrid to win the match. Despite Barcelona having the majority of possession, Atletico scored four goals. Barcelona players may have thought that Atletico Madrid would easily defeat the team, but the own goal in the 7th minute of the match was a bad sign for them. In the following period, they continued to defeat Barcelona defenders with great attacks and scored goals. Bacelona missing some of their key players will surely have a negative impact on the balance of the team and that is the major reason why the whole fix against Atletico looks a bit odd when you look at it on paper. On a normal day Atletico at home is a very difficult team to beat. But one funny thing about football is that! When it seems like everyone is analysing the game towards one direction, then the match turns out with entirely different result. So the 3:1 prediction is a bit too unrealistic because the key scorers are not going to be on the pitch.

I think Barcelona suffered a lot, and in fact we saw what happened to them, they lost a match that everyone thought was easy in a very bad way, the quality of Atletico Madrid was incredible, i really liked the approach they had, it was really poor and not up to expectations.

Barcelona were completely destroyed, Dieogo Simeone's pressing game was effective in making Barcelona unable to do much. It was a massacre and I must admit Barcelona played badly, not like usual, no Raphinha, Eric, Kounde, balde, Cubarsi, Yamal even Olmo was very messy.

Leg 1 result in my opinion has locked Altetico Madrid. In Leg 2 with Barcelona's mentality like this there is no chance of catching up. Alvarez, Lookman and Griezman are a deadly combination.

What a night that was though... Who could have thought Atletico Madrid would play this amazing and win against Barcelona by a huge score? I mean we are talking about a Barcelona which are having a superb season.

But last night they were so clumsy with finishing. Their defending was like the worst of its kind in this season. And the first goal Joan García conceded was just due to an unbelievable error... I wonder whether they will manage to come back from here.

Barcelona lost by a huge score of 4-0 in this match, and it was clearly completely unexpected. Because in this match, many thought that Barcelona would be the winner, but it turns out Atletico Madrid is currently in absolutely crazy performance. Because how could Barcelona be defeated by them with a landslide score, and what's even more unbelievable is that Barcelona was unable to score in this match. So that's what makes me quite confused and amazed by Atletico Madrid...

Furthermore,, with the crushing defeat suffered by Barcelona in the first leg, I think they will have a hard time recovering in the second leg. Because the aggregate is clearly very different. So in my opinion, in the second leg, Barcelona just needs to play more aggressively and from the first minute, Barcelona must put maximum pressure on Atletico Madrid's defense. And what should not be forgotten is that their defense must be further improved, because an attacking strategy clearly must be accompanied by a strong defense as well.

Barcelona's Copa del Rey exit was quite painful as the heavy defeat they suffered in the match showed they were unprepared. The defensive performance was poor in that match as they failed to contain Atletico Madrid's attacks, although the red card for Eric Garcia cannot be ignored. Lookmam's presence really gives Atletico Madrid more strength as I saw his performance stand out and he's adapted quickly to the club. Lookman's presence significantly boosted Atletico Madrid's attack, and their acquisition was a no-appropriate, as he made a significant contribution despite only playing for Atletico Madrid for two games. This decisive victory would take Atletico Madrid one step closer to the final, as they only needed to avoid a 5-0 defeat in the second leg. Barcelona's chances of beating Atletico Madrid 5-0 are slim.

I never expected Atletico Madrid to crush Barcelona in the Copa del Rey with a score of 4-0. I thought Barcelona would score many goals in that match, as both teams were relatively evenly matched. I saw Barcelona's defense as being truly weak, which ultimately resulted in Barcelona conceding many goals to atletico Madridd. Lookman, Griezmann, and Alvarez played well in that match, scoring goals. I lost my bet on that match because I thought Barcelona would win. In their last La Liga match against betis, Atletico Madrid lost, so I thought Barcelona would be able to beat atletico Madrid. However, Flick needs to train Barcelona's players to perform better, because of course, Barcelona still has a chance to advance to the Copa del Rey final, although it will certainly not be easy for Barcelona to win that match and score many goals against Atletico Madrid..

Next, Barcelona will face Girona in La Liga. I think barcelonna has a great potential to win. What do you think?

Barcelona looked like as if they played with a rotated lineup. But no, they lost 4-0 with the main one. Yeah maybe there were some injury problems but still they had a strong lineup there.

One who didn't watch the match can just think like Barcelona played better because of ball possession etc.. However it is the opposite. It was such a great performance by Simeone's players which left Hansi Flick desperate. Still nothing has ended though...

Barcelona mostly get punish when they meet teams that can turn defense to quick counters because they mostly press high with the their attackers and defence sometimes then find it tough to return back and defend properly. Diego Simoene has read them very well that's why he instructed his players in that tactics instead of playing possession game. You could see the difference Atletico Madrid had in playing against teams that use low blow strategy and those that press high. Lookman was very impressive yesterday, he contributed lots to Atletico's success in that match, Simoene won't regret signing him, we're yet to see the best of him at Atletico, wait till he starts banging lots of goals, Simoene can be a clown so I'm not surprised about such displays.

You got the fact, lookman gave his best yesterday and that is what we called talent, I believe he has a lot for his team, Barcelona losing to Athletico Madrid was very surprising to many of us, Athletico Madrid scored those goals in the first half, they weakened Barcelona with that band there was no way Barcelona could make a come back in the second half, that was an unfortunate one for Barcelona and bettors that banked on them to win, you have spelt out the areas Barcelona got it all wrong, their defense was not effective to handle such pressure but that is how football is sometimes, the would have learnt too, I regretted betting on straight win in favour of Barcelona, when I know that any match involving Barcelona and any team use to produce goals, is either Barcelona scores or the opposite happens, unfortunately I lost my bet.

Of course it is a big disaster for Barcelona where they lost to Atletico Madrid by a huge margin despite being a strong team. It is really a shame to concede 4 goals. If Barcelona could have scored, it would have looked a bit better but the way they lost now is definitely a criticism. It will be really impossible for Barcelona to come back after conceding 4 goals because it is not that easy. Atletico Madrid will not let them come. Atletico Madrid will try their best to keep their score and attack better and stronger. And I think Barcelona will definitely lose in the next leg because it is not possible to concede so many goals but Atletico Madrid will qualify for the final.

Barcelona was considered the most worthy to win the Copa del Rey. Since the team was in very good form. But we saw a strange performance of barcelona in the first match of the semi-final. In that game, UEFA helped Barca rob PSG, but it's not happening in La Liga.
