Atlético Madrid suffered a heavy defeat away from home, losing 3–0 to Rayo Vallecano.

Just three days ago, Atlético had dismantled Barcelona at home, but the team we watched tonight looked completely different.

It was truly an unbelievable loss. I don’t think anyone expected them to lose and certainly not by such a big margin.

Rayo Vallecano took this game as a revenge for Barcelona after the 4nil defeat. Rayo Vallecano did their best to come all out for Atletico Madrid and if it has not been done in that manner I believe that with some players dropped they would have taken control of this encounter. Is like a Valentine gift to have secured the 3pt, honestly this ATM players surprised me in the sense that they could not attack and get a better result like they did against Barcelona.
Watching how slow they were in that encounter made me believe that Rayo Vallecano have every right to dominate the game without joking with their opportunities, even at 2nil the host side kept on pressing for more goals, I just hope ATM won't continue with this weak form.

Where is the injustice in your opinion? Vini was clearly fouled in the penalty box by a Real Sociedad player, the referee's decision was correct to give a penalty here, so I hope you correct your sentence about this, because clearly the referee made the right decision.

Real Sociedad have been good in recent weeks but they have not been able to beat Real Madrid, BTW I really like Valverde's goal outside the penalty area.

I honestly didn't expect them to be losing this game. I had thoughts of them winning against since they dealt with Barcelona.

Should we say it was fatigue then, because how did they not win that game. The fight for top four still continues they should gear up otherwise get overtaken by Manuel Pellegri and Real Betis. Villarreal is yet another unserios side who lost to Getefe. Claiming back the top four is a must for Atletico Madrid.

The scoreline between Rayo Vallecano and Atlético Madrid is the real example that football is unpredictable and anything is possible in football. After Atlético Madrid thrashed Barcelona 4-0 few days ago in the Copa del Rey, I believed Atlético Madrid would sweep aside Ray Vallecano because the Atlético Madrid team looks so different after they signed Ademola Lookman, but I was so surprised that Atlético Madrid lost to Rayo Vallecano heavily yesterday.

What else did Atletico do? against the 17th ranked team they were destroyed 3-0 without reply, who would have expected it because they should be able to easily beat Rayo or at least a bad result is a draw.

Their defeat was unexpected surprise for me, and I still cannot understand how the team that is apparently more professional than its rival managed to concede two goals in a row within the five minute window at the end of the first half. Probably their recen ^{and also unexpected} win over Barca put a wet blanket on their mood so that resounding victory ended up playing the low down trick on Atlético.

In my opinion, Betis is currently performing well. In today's match, Betis won against Mallorca 2-1. In the previous match, Betis defeated Atletico Madrid 0-1. I think if Betis continues their good performance, Betis could secure a Champions League spot by the end of the season. I think the next match will be exciting because Betis will face Rayo. As for the idea that Real have started playing consistently well, I’d argue with that, because their wins are still alternating with defeats. But in La Liga they’ve been performing quite solidly. That’s exactly what allowed them to overtake Barcelona in the standings. Now, after a disappointing Cup match, Barcelona will face Girona in a game they have to win if they want to move ahead of Real again.

I saw a news story about Atletico Bilbao being slapped with a ban on buying new players until 2028. If that's true, then the club has everything to lose, with no new signings for several seasons destroying the pool of available players, not to mention the storm of injuries and expiring contracts. The club's financial policy is so unclear that it raises suspicions.

Without Mbappe Real Madrid attack did not seem adequate and strong to me. Real Madrid scored two goals from penalties. It was not because of the skill of any player. Vinicius was able to score two goals successfully and deserves praise for that. He was able to score two penalties efficiently, which was also a tactic. If I have to add the question of fairness, I think the two penalties were questionable. Apart from these two goals, the other two goals scored by Garcia and Valverde were impressive. Real Madrid will play against Benfica in the Champions League play-off match and Real will be the favourite in the match.

I agree with you,  and I just don't know why people always have something to say just to make themselves feel good, how can you even think that the whole game was just decided by one moment, and it's really funny how people believed that Real Sociedad would have won that game, but for me I actually saw a different thing though. You can see how Real Madrid were more confident, they were so organized,  and sharper. See, trust me even without that penalty,  they would have still won because they were the better team on the field.

But trust me am not even bothered  because people always have a way of saying things when the game did not go the way they want. Whatever they say at the end of the day a win remains a win,  whether they won with penalties or not. Real Madrid play a nice game and they deserve that win.

Athletico Madrid are one of the most funniest teams. These will be playing like prime Barcelona against Real Madrid and Barcelona. They just won Barcelona by 4 goals and now they  lost to Rayo vallecano. That's why I don't always rate that team, they are unreliable. That win against Barcelona Should have given them motivation to enter a good form. I won't be surprised if Barcelona will actually make a comeback against them in camp nou. A fully fit Barcelona team will win these guys by 5 goals. Simeone has bad record at Camp nou. It will take maybe another 10 years before Athletico Madrid will win league except there's a change in their system of Play.

I can't understand why Atlético Madrid's performance is so inconsistent. Atlético Madrid's inconsistent performance has often occurred this season. Many people did not expect the result of this match, because not only did Atlético Madrid beat Barcelona decisively three days earlier, but in terms of squad quality, Atlético Madrid is far superior to Rayo Vallecano and Atlético Madrid is in 4th place in the standings while Vallecano is in the relegation zone but Atlético Madrid actually lost badly to Rayo Vallecano.

These events are characterized by poor preparation. It's not possible that every time people complain, the referees immediately take action. i think this time everyone is exaggerating. The VAR system is very important and isn't even used. i think this situation is problematic throughout Europe.
