Let's just see how the situation will be after Barcelona faces the next two matches against Levante and Villarreal. If their performance is poor, the competition might not be as exciting as imagined. Moreover, Barcelona will also face Atletico in the Copa del Rey semifinal. Hopefully, they won't become too bad towards the end of the season.

On what basis do they really want us to blame the refree for bad officiating? No officiating is absolutely perfect but with the help of VAR, poor officiating is becoming minimal as all the official can not get it all wrong. Barcelona should accept the lose, prepare and come back stronger.

You can't always decide what the referee is thinking at that moment, and so this is a problem for all the teams that every now and then happen to be overwhelmed by some imprecise decision of the referee, but this should not be a reason for frowning on the part of these teams but a warning to be more careful when playing with a referee like this.

Barcelona lost this match because of their own mistakes and we saw that Flick did not fully consider the emphasis on composure from his players in yesterday's game against Girona. You are right that they were too hasty in that game as a result their opportunities were not effective. In fact when Barcelona won a penalty against Girona yesterday, they had enough time to turn the tide of this match but i saw they selected an inexperienced player to take that golden opportunity as a result, we noticed that Barcelona could not equalize the score line from there. To be honest, Girona's player scored a very extraordinary goal in the 86th minute and they found victory in the last minutes of this game.

They should not have played in such a bad condition and Girona proved that they can fail a strong team even when they are weak. Girona players tried in the last minute and scored a goal to consolidate their victory. Barcelona players were not busy playing well in this match and they considered Girona a weak team and set themselves up for defeat. They thought that Girona would not be able to control Barcelona in this match and the match was in our hands but Girona tried their best and scored goals with struggle and won the match in their favor and Barcelona embarrassed themselves in this match and is regretting their regret. It was the effort and thinking of this player that won the match otherwise this match would have ended in a draw.

Silver Lining for Barcelona is that they are not going to play at UCL whereas Real Madrid did and barely managed to beat Benfica on the first game, which is going to tire Real Madrid out for a few weeks while Barcelona is resting, that is a benefit. Barcelona should be able to win the next few games, and Real Madrid will have some hard time and difficulty and will get more tired, so we do not know maybe they will also win games but they could potentially have a risk of being too tired and not put their 100% in the game.

I don't think one is significantly superior to the other. Both teams compete very well against each other. Because Barça suffered a defeat in their last match, they're perceived as worse than Real Madrid, but that's certainly not the case. This ranking can change at any moment. Both teams are among the most valuable and strongest in Spain. The balance can shift completely in an instant. I like both Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Most times I find it very irritating to understand how some teams actually feel when they complain about a referee, I still don’t think there is anything wrong with the Officiating of the game, Barcelona lost because they were horrible the way they performed, it was a shame for them to miss so many good chances and opportunities to have beaten the team in that game, but unfortunately for them they lost the game against Girona, Barcelona should move on from that game, and focus on the games ahead, it was a terrible performance from Barcelona and they should stop talking about the referee, because it’s shameful and irritating from them.

I agree with you, they should forget about the ref and the officiating after all that penalty was suppose to kill the morale of Girona if the ball had found the back of the net but they missed it and several other opportunities. It won't go off their mind for losing this game and now the prayers they'll have in mind is for Madrid to either lose or draw their next game, is never going to be easy because they'll make sure of winning their games because the last time Madrid took the number 1 spot they lost it without occupying that position for a longer period of time and now is like a gift Barcelona gave them. Osasuna will be hosting Madrid which might be a tough game but I still expect Madrid to win and with the champions league game after this Osasuna game I don't expect much goals in that encounter so Barcelona need to pray harder for Madrid to lose or draw that game on Saturday.

Okay because Barcelona has come down to second place the Spanish la liga wont be much interesting as expected right? It's alright my joy is Real Madrid has taken over the first place in the Spanish la liga standings and i pray they should be consistent as i will be so pleased to see them win the league and never to go trophyless like they did last season and for Barcelona i think they have lost it all this season if by chance Real Madrid win the league title, because there's no way they are beating ATN 4 goals and above so they should just take of the thought of the cup on their mind.

Agreed, initially I had Barcelona as a slightly better performing team than Real Madrid but seeing them lose twice in the last 5 weeks of La Liga and also suffering a crushing defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Copa Del Rey, made me reconsider. For now I see Barcelona and Madrid as equal forces, with their own strengths and problems within the team. And this also makes the competition more interesting because going into the 25th game, we still don't have a clear picture or choice of who will come out on top at the end of the season due to the tight points gap. If Barcelona can stabilize their defense, they will come out on top and if Madrid improve their consistency, they will also come out on top.

From the beginning of the season I knew that the race for the laliga title were going to be a tough one between these Madrid and Barcelona. For now no team should be written off between the two because, from the start of the season these two teams has been able to dominate the league, as each one of them will climb up and coming down for the other. One thing that we have to consider is that form and injuries plays an important role in the performance of any team.



Looking at the performance of these two teams Barcelona was dominating due to the lack of form from the Madrid players before the sack of Alonso, Madrid is now back to form and Barcelona is now the one struggling with form this league is still hard to predict.

It's big surprise from Girona as they are weak in this season but just won against a strong club Barcelona. It's a win for Girona with three points for their club but it's a big gift for Real Madrid in La Liga title competition with Barcelona.

This makes La Liga more exciting but not only a title race, the race for two other positions in top four are very interesting too with participation of Villareal, Atletico Madrid and Real Betis. Villareal with 45 points as same as Atletico Madrid but have one match for playing truly have good advantage in the race. While Real Betis with 41 points don't lose their chance of finishing this season in top four, and they will keep fighting for either a third or fourth position with enough challenge in last 14 matches against both Atletico Madrid and Villareal.

These lapses in concentration are fatal for losing precious points which then when added together always manage to ruin the other excellent performances that have been made previously. From a first glance it seems to me that the championship and the matches that Real Madrid will have to play are simpler than those of Barcelona, so this is an excellent gift.

They were not really going through financial and other problems. That topic is inflated by the media every single year and they say that Barcelona is now finally broke, but when you look at their lineup in the first game of last season, mention one player who was not a global superstar. It would have had consequences if their lineup had been full with semi good players and others that would usually be fore sale, but that was not the case. They had a squad that was packed with superstars everywhere.

I have heard a few interviews when players were asked about legal threats against the club or financial issues and it was not only about Barcelona and the players answer that they couldn't care less. I think that is true. A club like Barcelona will usually never risk to not pay what they owe someone because that would lead to massive reputational damage and issues when they want to sign new and expensive players. They pay eventually and you can see that Barcelona has no issues in keeping players like Yamal, Raphinha, Pedri, Gavi. If all these problems were real that are discussed in the media, I doubt that all these great players would just stay there and wait until it goes wrong.

When the season kicked off, Villarreal was one of the teams at the forefront and if i can remember correctly, i think there was a time they once top the table after which they moved to third position before they got dethroned by Atletico Madrid in the third place. It's funny how Atletico Madrid won Barcelona by 4:0 in the Copa del Rey but suffered a 3:0 defeat to Rayo Vallecano in their last La Liga match. Today's match between Levante and Villareal was a very tough one because Levante's defense was so tight that Villarreal was only able to score one goal which helped them to go 3 points ahead of Atletico Madrid who previously occupied the third position. Levante only won 4 matches after 24 games they played in the La Liga till now; they risk relegation if they don't improve quickly.

Arbeloa is not experienced enough. Still, I'd say he's doing better than I expected. The team continues its winning streak in La Liga. Madrid did not make any mistakes in this important match of the champions league. Benfica wins at home to Madrid. Anyway, the margin of victory is very small. But winning against a team like Benfica at this moment was a difficult  task for madrid.

They played quite well in the Benfica match. Maybe they didn't score many goals, but scoring enough was important for them. The team's performance wasn't bad; they would have been much more tired if it had been a more difficult match. At least the fatigue is certainly a big advantage for Barcelona.
We can't say that Barcelona's fixture list is easy either. They will be playing back-to-back matches against strong teams, so there will definitely be a drop in their performance

Madrid definitely does not want to lose points and lose the top spot  in the table again. But it is not guaranteed that  they will win all the upcoming  matches.

The difference in points between barcelona and madrid is only 2 . This is a very small difference. If madrid loses a point in one match , they will also lose the top spot in the table. On the other hand, Barcelona has been performing  badly in two consecutive matches. If this tendency continues , they have no chance of winning the title.
