I don't think Perez's decision to appoint Arbeloa as Real Madrid's manager,, especially just because he's able to lead Real Madrid to the round of 16 and top the table, is enough. I think that's a clearly negative consideration for Real Madrid's future. So,, I think Perez needs to be more selective in making this decision. If Arbeloa can lead Real Madrid to the La Liga title and reach the UCL semifinals, I think it would make sense to appoint him as Real Madrid's permanent manager. Undoubtedly the Athletic Club were very lucky today. They managed to secure 3 points from the match in the end. As Elche played badly defensively today, I thought the match would be a draw. But Guruzeta scored from the penalty in the 89th minute of the match. And Athletic Bilbao won the match 2-1.

Well, this is not an excuse for any club, especially Barcelona, both teams were given a level playing ground, don't let us have an excuse for a poor performance that ultimately cost them. For Girona to have held them goalless in the first half should mean something to you, and the fact that Girona also equalised shortly after Barcelona's first goal in the second half should again mean something. Barcelona could have the possession, but were they able to utilise it effectively by penetrating the defense of Girona often? That's where skillful playing lies. You might hold the ball more but not allowed to go through, so what's the point? For me, they got what they deserve and they would not have done more than their capability against the opponent.

Real Madrid's performance has been going well recently, so they will have to fight with more excitement in the next matches than in the past matches. If Real Madrid can collect their full points, then they will definitely be ahead and their confidence will increase. The performance of Barcelona have really declined of late, and since this period of the season is the key period when they should be consistent the most, but they are not, it's really killing their title ambition. In my own opinion, the main reason they lost to girona was because of their poor defence, because if their attack is failing, at least the defense should have held their ground and secure the goal scored, so their defense is what they must improve if they want to stand a chance of winning this laliga title this season.
On the other hand, real madrid that wasn't doing well initially has really improved their game at this period consistency is needed the most, but nothing is 100% certain as for now, let's just watch and see how things plays out.
