I said it earlier that Real Madrid wouldn’t be able to win this game considering that they played a game during the midweek in the Champions League, and now they’re still going to face the same team in the Champions League, so I knew it was going to be a very difficult game for them and they obviously had to rest some players, well it didn’t work for them, as I predicted they are going to drop some points in the La Liga title race, but right now if Barcelona win there game which I’m completely certain they’re going to win the game, if Barcelona win there game then it’s game over for Real Madrid in the Chase for the Title.

I don’t know, I can’t figure out the reason for Real Madrid’s poor performance. They were attacking the entire match, and I think they should have scored at least two more goals, but despite that, they ended up drawing at home. That’s bad, because they ruined my bet. I had Real at -1 handicap, and they spoiled my parlay where all the other selections won. So once again, Real have disappointed me. And I can say that with this kind of performance, they have nothing to hope for in an away match against Bayern.

It seems Real Madrid will have to let Barcelona  take the trophy because with a performance like that, I don’t think they’ll be able to close the gap with Barcelona. Against Girona, Real Madrid have the home advantage, but unfortunately, they let that  golden opportunity slip through their fingers. At first I thought that when Valverde scored, it would mean victory  for them, but, funnily enough, it didn’t take long for Girona to level the score and it was as if to prove that Madrid’s defence really  was porous.

To be honest, given that performance, I doubt Real Madrid will be able to turn things around in the second leg of the Champions  League and in the worst case, they might even get thrashed, as Bayern Munich  will be playing at home

It was already very difficult for Real Madrid when the gap was 7 points. Now it's likely to even reach 9 points if we don't see a surprising result in the Barcelona - Espanyol game as well.

I just can't believe it... Real Madrid can't even win against an aimless team like Girona. This season is about to be kind of a copy of the last one. The difference is that they can finish the season even further away from the leader.

My question is that what is wrong with Real Madrid? This team is not the same team we use to know, i know that Real Madrid need a midfield that can control the midfield for them but losing too manny games is unacceptable, all these players are bunch of incompetent players, they don’t fight for the badge and i blame Perez for signing them, I have said it before that some players don’t deserve to be in Real Madrid, players like Camavinga, Ceballos and others who are not performing well don’t deserve to be in the team, at this point a coach is not Real Madrid problem, the problem of Real Madrid is the players.

Mbape and Vinicius can never work and Real Madrid made a big mistake for signing Mbape, Mbape is one of the best players no doubt but Mbape has never turned up for his club, when he was in PSG they did not win anything because he did not press and do what the coach want and after he left they won Champions and since he joined Real Madrid they have not win any trophy, Real Madrid is about to end another season without trophy making it two seasons in a row without a trophy, the most painful thing is that they keep missing chances that they can score goals. As a Real Madrid fan don’t think there will be a ramontada against Bayern Munich, Real Madrid might concede more than the first leg.

when the poll in this thread was posted, i voted for barcelona to win the title, and my vote still stands. i did reconsider my decision at the start of the season, but right now i’m proud of myself.

real madrid quickly responded to the goal barcelona scored early in the second half, and there was no goals after that. so we can say that barcelona’s championship in la liga is now guaranteed. since 2022, there’s been a pattern where either real madrid or barcelona would win the title, and it looks like that pattern is about to be broken this season.

In essence, Real Madrid's current situation is unfavorable in any competition. As we know,, in La Liga, Real Madrid is already quite far behind Barcelona,  and in the UCL, Real Madrid lost in the first leg to Bayern. So, this is clearly not a good thing for Real Madrid. I watched Real Madrid’s matches against Bayern, and I really liked how Real played. They created a lot of chances that they should have scored, but that night Neuer was outstanding and made a huge number of saves. That’s why I think Real should beat Girona today, and they should do it quite comfortably. However, I think a lot depends on what lineup Arbeloa chooses for this match. If he decides to rotate the squad, things could turn out differently, but I believe the match against Bayern is only in five days, so he will most likely go with a strong lineup to secure the win, even though Barcelona currently has a big lead.

It's a shame,, my friend, that our prediction was wrong, as the match ended in a draw. This is incredibly heartbreaking,, in my opinion. Real Madrid should have secured all three points, having already fallen so far behind Barcelona,  but they wasted that opportunity and only managed to secure one point. This was completely unexpected. Furthermore, Real Madrid's performance in this match wasn't particularly good, even worse than in the previous match. If Real Madrid's current performance is limited to this level,, I don't think they have much hope. The gap between Real Madrid and Barcelona could widen if Barcelona wins tonight. If that happens,, Real Madrid will likely fail to win the La Liga title again this season.

In my opinion, Real Madrid's performance has not recovered since being defeated by Mallorca and Bayern in the Champions League. The proof is that today, Real Madrid drew against Girona, even though they were playing at home, and they should have easily defeated Girona. I predicted that Real Madrid would win today's match, but it turned out that Real Madrid couldn't beat Girona. Now, many Real Madrid fans are certainly disappointed because their team couldn't get all three points against Girona.

Barcelona has certainly received a breath of fresh air after seeing Real Madrid fail to win against Girona. It's not broken yet, Real Madrid might be weaker this season but there's room for a change and if they can't win it this season there's a possibility of them winning it the next season just that they need to take their time to appoint a suitable manager like Barcelona has done and it's working well for them.

 Maybe if  Xabi Alonso didn't underperform and was forced to resign, maybe they've been a better position to win the league, changing different coaches that are inexperienced really affected the club and another problem was injuries and team selection but I believe that Real Madrid could do better next season.

I always believed Real Madrid would win the Champions League based on the previous H2H but it was all ruined when they lost to Bayern Munich at home --- which made it worse to lose again to a weak team that made us less confident of a comeback in the second leg because the challenge was much tougher at the Allianz stadium.

Madrid is already far behind barcelona. They lost against Mallorca in the previous match. Now real madrid has failed to win against girona. It will  not be possible for madrid to reduce such a big point gap. If barcelona can win against espanyol today , they will be ahead of madrid by a big margin of 9 points. I actually think that Real Madrid is no longer chasing the La Liga title because they realize it is already impossible due to the huge point gap, and that has decreased their motivation, making them unable to win the match against Girona. Now, Real Madrid should just focus on the second leg of the Champions League, even though they are only 1 goal behind on aggregate, because that is their only hope. In my opinion, for La Liga, everything is already over for Real Madrid this season.

Okay, assuming Madrid wins El Clasico, the difference is 4 points, yes, it's close enough to be able to catch up again, but 4 points with 3 matches left (because El Clasico is played on matchday 35) and also Barcelona only plays against weak teams at that time, it's quite unlikely for Barcelona to lose. Real Madrid draw against Girona has given Barcelona even more motivation to win against Espanyol at Camp Nou. Barcelona will not waste the opportunity to widen the gap with Real Madrid to 9 points and accelerate the completion of the trophy work this season. If they manage to beat Espanyol, they only need four more wins (including against Real Madrid) to secure the La Liga trophy. Espanyol have had a bad record against Barcelona in their last 5 meetings. This is an opportunity for them to stop Barcelona from winning them consecutively.

Losing points in two consecutive matches is not a good sign. Their points gap with barcelona is increasing. They also lost in the champions league match. Fans are disappointed to see the Real Madrid performance but I will tell them that Real is a team that can turn around even from a bad position. This has been seen many times in their history. So don't think that this season's hope is over. The performance was bad, it is visible, so in the long run they can't win the title just by luck. If their performance doesn't improve consistently then there will be a problem. On the other hand, if Barcelona keeps winning regularly, the points gap will increase quickly and that is absolutely true.

When a gap is created in a competition like La Liga, it becomes difficult to cover it. However, I think Real Madrid's opportunity is not over yet and they need to improve their performance quickly to win the title. However, their future now largely depends on Barcelona's results.
