It's a pity to see Girona that surprised everyone with an amazing performance and almost won the La Liga title two seasons ago have been relegated this season and they will be playing in the Spanish Segunda next season. I thought Girona would beat Elche and escape relegation but they were unlucky Elche denied them a chance to play in the La Liga next season.

I don't feel sorry for them, because that's what you get when you sell all your key players and choose to start from scratch. Their core players, who should have been a great asset to compete in La Liga, have mostly moved on, destroying the foundation they've built. If they had at least a few players to stay, they might have performed better, but they didn't.
They've now been officially relegated for their mistake, and they need to learn from it if they want to return to La Liga.

I think we all don’t understand how much that Girona owners have, this club is owned by the same company or people managing Manchester City so they definitely have lots of money to spend without having to sell their best players but they had to sell this players due to the new rules implemented in the Laliga under Javier Tebas and this has actually been what happened to all the clubs in the league and also the reason why even the top clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are not competitive in the champions league for like two seasons now.

If this rules weren’t there I was actually expecting the club to be heavily invested in by the owners to set it on the path of success like Manchester City but now they can just pray they actually come back early to the top flight division to stay a little bit competitive

It is time for Simoñe to find a new approach for Atlético Madrid. His side has conceded a lot of goals this season. Conceding 39 goals in La Liga during the 2025/2026 season, although they scored up to 61 goals in the league. But it is not enough. When a team concedes much, it affects the goals they score, to be worthless. Next season will be very demanding. Since Simoene came to Atlético Madrid, nothing has changed yet. This team deserves a major trophy. I was not happy when Real Sociedad won them in that final.

Atletico Madrid was once a club with good defenders but gradually they have lost that ability to defend very well they manage to score goal in some goals but you still concede exactly the same number of goals they scored which is not helping the time. The manager has to make good changes in his defense and improve the performance of his team because if he keeps using one style of play it's going to be more difficult for his team next season. The number of goals they scored this season is ok but looking at the total number they conceded it's more than half of whet they scored. About their only opportunity to win a trophy that they lost, they should have learnt their lessons not to underestimate any team in the finals.

Barcelona with Flick is quite good this year. They won the La Liga trophy and the Spanish Super Cup. Although they failed in Europe, this condition is quite good. I read that even Barcelona players received individual awards. Goalkeeper Joan Garcia won the Zamora Trophy. Then Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres will share the Zarra Trophy. It seems Flick must immediately improve the team's condition to compete in Europe. They have to bring back the glory days like when Messi was still playing at Barcelona.

They always failed in Europe and that is only thing that flick needed and they can do there best to win it next season. They always struggle every season to win champions league they just have problems when is time to win the ucl trophy.

Well, in all aspects Barcelona are super brilliant wether it's in league competition or it's in domestic cup but unfortunately when it's come to UEFA champions league competition they drop the donation and lose against ordinary team of the tournament. Such a in previous they lose against Inter Milan and now lose against Atlatico Madrid although in twice elimination refree was the cause of lose like due to poor decision. I don't know why this always happens with Barcelona.....

Besides that Barcelona are also responsible for this reason like they didn't deliver any good progress in continuous function til the end.  So they should also need to feed this gap othwise it will happen again and again. However I hope next season will better if Barcelona bring nay good striker for Robert Lewandowski replacement.

Let's see how the summer transfer happens and who gets who but the end result is that we are going to see Mourinho go to Real Madrid and that alone tells me that Real Madrid will not be doing good at all. Like everyone assumes, I assume that they are going to do very terrible and they should not be expected to win at all we should be expecting them to do very badly and not really that good at all because Mourinho has been terrible for a long time.

Honestly, even though I lost my bet on this match, I really enjoyed watching it because I found it very exciting. Villarreal has now earned three points from Atletico Madrid, and Villarreal certainly closed out the La Liga season very well. This season, I think Villarreal performed very well. We saw Villarreal finish 5th last season, but now Villarreal finished 3rd. If Villarreal continues this performance, there's potential for an even better performance next season

Result of 5-1 loss is totally unacceptable. And when it comes to relegation, it is heart break that comes with drop zone that makes European football so brutal but interesting. Mallorca gave their all with little to no means and seeing them lose is like huge injustice on basis of their structural efforts. This is not first time Girona has gone through this cycle and team has ideal boardroom stability to rebound even better. But second division is pure meat grinder, unless these clubs can immediately reconstruct their teams, it may take years to get back to first division.

What a poor finish from Atletico Madrid to end the season and a good finish for Villareal to wrap up the season. Atletico isn't in their peak form and they have been a disappointment of recently. Of course, Villareal performance was superb this season and if Villareal improves their performance, they will still end up on third position like they did now because I don't think that either Real Madrid or Barcelona will allow them overtake them on the second position.

He will be the manager of Real Madrid next season even of a new president comes in, he'll only get to leave if he finally gets sacked or doesn't make them competitive as said by the club president before his appointment.
Bring Erling Haaland will mean selling some of your best value players also. I don't think Real Madrid are ready to sell, Vinicius and also Kylian Mbappe already.

Playing bets and losing sometimes is really frustrating because we all have that hope of coming out winners, we do see more losses than winning in gambling and it has been the reason why some do quit gambling.
Last night, Villarreal did something I never expected, with the forces up front Atletico Madrid have as one of the best teams in La Liga this season, I thought it was going to be a game that both sides will score and either end in a draw or Atletico Madrid get a win but conceding 4 goals at half time made the coming back impossible.
It was a good fight the home team gave Atletico Madrid, they surprised them completely, like every goal came very fast, before counting 1 they went on to score again. This is the type of performance I expected of Villarreal at the start of this campaign but they relaxed a little bit before they could speed up they had already dropped points. If they continue they way they ended this season I believe next season won't be that hard for them but this Villarreal team reminds me of how Girona did some seasons ago but the next season they became one of the biggest flop of that particular season so I'd only wait to see if Villarreal will continue with this good form next campaign.

It's not surprising to see such a  result at the end of the season. Especially  with the world cup just a few days away. At the moment, the big  teams do not give their full effort unless it is  an important match. Atletico madrid didn't make much of an effort to win  this match.

Most of atletico's players are now  worried about the world cup. And this match was not important for them either. They have already qualified for the champions league. Atletico madrid are still 9 points ahead of fifth-placed Real betis in  the points table.

Girona did not qualify for la liga. It is a pity. Because the team  managed to perform in the champions league last season. It was  completely unexpected that they would fall  so quickly. Girona  finished a very bad season. It will be difficult for them to qualify for la liga again.

I don’t like betting on matches at the end of the season that no longer matter. In those games, the home team usually has a better chance because they are playing in front of their own fans. I thought it could either end in a draw or with a narrow win for Villarreal, but I could never even imagine Atletico conceding five goals.

When I logged into the casino website yesterday to maybe look for a live bet and saw 5–1, at first I thought it was showing some kind of corner-kick statistics or something similar. But when I realized that it was actually the score, I was pretty shocked.

Maybe one of the reasons was that Musso was in goal, but honestly, I don’t think he is bad enough to concede that many goals. Although Simeone did rotate the defense, I still don’t think that should excuse them. A defeat like that is unacceptable.

I didn't bet on the Atletico match, not an important match, but I was quite surprised by the final score, how bad Atletico looked here, at least losing by 2-1 or 3-1 is acceptable. It was a game to avoid betting at least if one was aiming to bet on a side to win. Like you mentioned, the result wasn't going to change anything significant. They both qualified for the Champions League anyway.

Yeah maybe 5-1 is a too heavy loss for Simeone's students but I don't think he even cares about it. He is staying for another season as well. Who knows maybe it will finally be his last year there unless Atletico Madrid surprise people by winning the La Liga.

I know there form is kind of poor right now but losing to your mate 5-1 is a tard disgraceful, well it's the end of the season so expectations are low.

The initial mistake of trying several things including rotating players which led to the loss of key players made their performance completely destroyed this season even though in the last 2 seasons they were one of the challengers to Barcelona and Madrid and were always hailed for their performance but this season they were destroyed.

It's been too quick a transition for Girona and it's due to mistakes they shouldn't have made.
They already had the chance to be a dark horse club but they didn't seem to expect it and made some new moves with players that turned out to be a blunder.
This season they had to return to the Segunda because of their mistake in rushing to destroy the club for financial reasons.  For another thing the club promoted this season was Racing Santander, I haven't heard of this club for a while and they are finally back in La Liga.

yes there is a verbal agreement, i believe, but Mourinho is certainly an excellent coach, and certainly has a lot of power, those at Real Madrid will have no problem handing the team over to a coach they have already met and who has won a lot in Spain, it could happen without any problems

There's only a two-point difference between 19th-placed Girona and 13th-placed Sevilla. So we have to say the race was very competitive until the last week. They would have stayed in the league if they hadn't drawn with Elche, and if they had managed to beat them, they would be in La Liga right now, but they failed to do so and are now relegated. The decline of this team in a few years should be a lesson for other teams. After a very good season, you have to be careful.
