Teams only do that to players that do have a replacement and not the one that without him, the team won’t farewell and will miss winning important matches or important trophies that will make them look weak that season. Atletico Madrid are not in a good position to make it hard for Alvarez to enjoy his stay in that club, so selling him out would have detrimental to their own success last season. Olise is a very young star footballer. He can play at a high level for at least another 7-8 years with his current team; he hasn't even reached his prime yet. His quality will improve even more as he gains more experience. Would you want such a player to leave the team?
