Immediately he came on there was some good visible changes in their play coupled with Mbappe’s late, that was what stamped their win beyond a reasonable doubt.

Real Madrid had a very poor second half despite leading 3:0 and i’m sure most people who watched the match would agree with me; even Mourinho knew this and you could see it on his face that he was not very happy with the performance of that second half and if it happened to be that they were playing against a better team than Rayo, they probably would have gotten punished for that performance.

As far as La Liga is concerned, Barcelona will always be a threat to Real Madrid, and it has been that way for a very long time now. Real Madrid is always a threat to Barcelona whenever they want to win the league, and the same applies to Barcelona. They are the only two strong teams that always try to fight for La Liga. I think Mourinho’s primary goal is for his team to win, so he selects the best lineup to achieve that. Give it time, Mourinho is in not rush on how to manage Real Madrid, and he is definitely not to impressed with short term player performance, if you can prove to be consistent in the long run and also prove to be better than the alternatives then there is no reason for Mourinho to not play you in his first 11.

The only thing I will say is that if players act like the team is ineffective without them then the best thing to do to put them back in their place will be to bench them for a while, even if it's just for a single game, it will serve to remind them that they are no irreplaceable.

I don't see anything wrong with the strategy Mourinho is going with. Vinicius is an important player and physically fit and can score goals when needed. Vinicius has scored 1 goal and assisted 3 in 5 matches. Arda Guler has been playing well this season and has scored 1 goal and assisted 2 goals. There is no logic in using both players together. Mourinho is making his decisions based on the players' abilities because some players need to be rested as reserve players. It is better to use the players who are less performer in part-time rather than using them full-time. I don't see the talent in Arda Guler that would allow Vinicius to be benched and used for more matches. He will have to play well to get a place in the starting 11.

We can't expect a team who are not intentionally investing in their team strength to match Madrid who are strongly making effort to meet up with Barcelona who have taken over the top standing.
