At this stage in La liga last season it was different, there was no six points gap between Real Madrid and Barcelona, the competition was fierce as at this period last season, the difference in points wasn't six points, after the big defeat Atletico Madrid gave to Real Madrid. This season that we were expecting a change of performance from Real Madrid to something better, it became worse. Real Madrid has to win all their league matches this month and that includes winning El clasico to stay in touching distance with Barcelona anything less than that is going to be a wider gap. Real Madrid can close the gap between them and other teams easily except Barcelona. El clasico is happening this month, Real Madrid

But as we know, Barcelona won both seasons, and that advantage wasn't decisive (the teams traded the lead in both seasons, if I recall correctly). The situation for Real Madrid is difficult but not critical, indeed, they need at least a draw in El Clásico - if they lose, it is hard to imagine Barcelona squandering such an advantage. Mbappe prefers the left flank but he hasn't been playing their for a while even while he was at PSG, he was also asked to play centre forward and France plays him in similar role so he should be accustomed to it now and not always drifting he plays perfectly well with his teammates at France, I'm still wondering what the problem is at Madrid.

Vinicius Jnr is now a shadow of himself, maybe they can start playing Mbappe on the left and then any striker as centre forward until Vini or Rodrygo is back.

One thing to keep in mind is that both favourites may not start their strongest lineups. After the international break, many managers will want to rest some key players so they can be fully ready for the UCL. Barcelona have been scoring plenty lately, but I don’t think we should expect another big win here, especially if Raphinha is unavailable. I still expect both teams to win, but I wouldn’t assume Barcelona will score heavily like they did in their previous games.

I expect Barcelona to win, although I'm at the same time expecting Getafe to be a pain in the ass towards Barcelona. I mean sit back and make sure that they're frustrated asf. I'm not sure Raphinha is absent and even if he is absent, Gabriel Jesus can do the trick for Hansi Flick. I expect Raphinha to get little time though from the second half of the game.
For Real Madrid, I expect them to win and there should be goals from the both sides. Villarreal are not in some good form but they have the capabilities to see a goal scored in that game. Jose Mourinho do not want to play around, I see him winning this game at home ahead of their Champions league fixture against AS Roma.

The fact is that, Mbappe is an outstanding player that can play in both positions and still bring out his best. The most important thing is that being a finisher is favouring him and that's why he could score more goals than other top strikers last season in Laliga, UCL and this year's world cup. I believe that France coach has seen that he's better off being a striker than a winger. Ancelotti did that miracle. Kudos to him.

But in the club he is played as a striker, which is why we see an unbalanced situation in the attack. I think Mourinho should do this experiment with Mbappe, make some changes in the position and test the performance of the team.

Mbappe's conflict with Vinicius Junior is mainly about this issue, both start running with the ball from the same side, as a result, neither player's performance is as expected. Vinicius' performance is especially deteriorating. Mourinho needs to solve this problem quickly, otherwise they may have to remain titleless this season.

I don't think so. Madrid and Barcelona players have up to three days to take rest from their International break, which i think that's enough for them to play in the upcoming match fixtures. Eventhough, they may not be playing full time, but that's enough.

I have my bet on Barcelona with over 4 goals, and Madrid over 3.5 goals, which is giving me 3.35 total odds. Rotation may happen, but winning their upcoming games must be their priority because unable to take three points will make them closer to their opponents.

The gap is 6 points apart. Even if Madrid wins the El Classico the will be 3 points behind Barcelona. It might look feasible to achieve but the pace at which Barcelona is running with this season I'm finding it hard to believe they will want to lag behind any time soon. 7 wins in 7 matches should send a strong message to the other rivals of the Laliga title contenders. The season might still be fresh but the momentum and confidence Barcelona team has built already will make it even harder for Madridto win the El Classico not to mention reclaiming the top position.

Hmm.. this Real Madrid and Barcelona league saga is getting more complicated by the day, because despite the lead from Barcelona, all I can tell is Real Madrid still have at least 60% chance of winning the league that's if they work more harder, because six point lead is really nothing, as we all know Barcelona can never go the whole season unbeaten, so it's now left for Real Madrid to put in more work, because if they should keep playing this way, then I admit they won't even have 40% chance of winning the league, so they still have hope.

And the reason that before he joined real madrid mbappe position is left winger were he prefers to play but in real madrid he plays center forward and the same position that mbappe his good at is also were vini is also playing that is one of the challenges that they are facing in real madrid and in this situation I don't know how they will be able to make corrections and we are still waiting for Mourinho because since is the head coach his decision should also influence the performance because the fans are already losing hope in him because they saw him making the club better and that is not what we are seeing now.

And it seems they don't want to let the two of them go but there should be a better way of handling things so that they will be able to function well because the way it, because of all this mbappe is limited on his current position to be able to perform well as usual, so better still they should either bench one.

The center of the pitch is always more crowded that the flanks, and with Mbappe pace he will be able to utilize the flank but running past the winger and then cutting a bit to give him a better chance at netting the ball at the back of the goal keeper... I miss the former Vinicius Junior who actually knew how to utilize that left wing position, and the same person who actually lifted his team to winning the Champions League against Dortmound...The Vinicius Junior that we have now is just a matter who is just occupying space..Infact he is no longer effect in that position again ever since his surgery...I will like to see Mbappe try out that position in their subsequent matches instead of his traditional No 9 role..

But I don't think so, Real Madrid could surprise everyone with a smooth win, how do you think that? Can they win easily against strong teams? What did they do in their previous matches? They lost against Atlético Madrid, they couldn't win easily there, but if we look at the current form, Barcelona is in better form than Atlético Madrid, not only than Atlético Madrid, but Barcelona is in the best form compared to all the other teams and they are currently at the top. And so in the end I think Barcelona will beat Madrid. Where you think that Real Madrid will surprise everyone with an easy win, it will be the opposite, rather Barcelona will beat Real Madrid by 5 goals. In the next El Clasico we are going to see a very bad defeat for Madrid by a big margin.

A six point gap is no small matter, but it is certainly possible to close it. Real will realize just how important it is for them to win every match, they will be more focused, whereas Barcelona might start taking games too lightly, believing they are vastly superior to Real and all the other teams in La Liga, and Barcelona could drop points. A single defeat for Barcelona would cut the gap between them and Real to three points, so things could change very quickly.

They can see how poor they’ve been from the start of the season, so coming back from this international break should be a bigger challenge for them to fight for the top spot of the league. 20 straight win is doable for them but if their biggest opponent also maintain such consistency, it is as though their effort has nothing to speak for them yet. 20 straight wins for both of them will still be a tied challenge with only the El-Classico to decide if Real Madrid were able to reduce the point gap or Barcelona increase their point gap with them. We still have a long season from now and both teams still stand a very good chance for the title.

Laliga is still open for any team to win it, Barcelona has been wonderful both last season and this season and from their performance it looks like they might win it again but for now we can't just conclude, Real Madrid can't also be written off because of how they have perform so far but there is still every possiblity that either Real Madrid, Barcelona or ATM is going to win the Laliga tittle this season.

Although Real Madrid need to improve if they must challenge for the tittle but if Barcelona can keep this top form and win Real Madrid in the coming El Classico games than they have high percent  chance of winning the tittle over Real Madrid and ATM.

Vinicius junior is completely a different player. He has become weaker and more slower than before, even dribbling one on one dribbling has become an issue for him. I don't know if his bad form is as a result of lack of confidence or just physiological issue. But your idea of putting mbappe on the LW position might not be possible, because what will now happen to Vini. Vini would have to benched in order for mbappe to start in that position. Do you know what the outrage will be from the board, because a €30m+ salary earner is warming the bench. The players in Madrid have strong power , that they can influence the coach decisions just like how we witnessed Xabi's drama, so Vini won't allow that to happen.

Real Madrid have to focus on closing the gap rather than thinking about the El Clasico as the game that will decide everything, i understand the fact of winning 20 straight games, but i don’t think El Clasico should be seen as the game that will decide the title amd if Barcar are ahead on points and they continue winning, Madrid cannot depend on beating them once to close the entire gap that left out currently, they will still need Barcar to drop point in their games for them to meet up while.

Playing in a position different from the one you've played in for years is very difficult, and succeeding in that position is even harder. But Mbappe is one of the best players in the world and a player who can play very well in both positions. We can say that he has shown his potential.
It's difficult to shape players according to the team's needs, and it's a great achievement for the coach to discover this potential and change the team accordingly
