Cucurella swallowed Yamal during the entire game, he didn't let him get a small chance, that was the first kill switch. They left Huijsen and Konate handle the Raphina, that was how they were able to limit the attacks. Barcelona defense was difficult to break, he used his attackers to do the job but they set up Mbape many times for offline, so he couldn't do much and that was how he used Camavinga and Bellingham to clear the defenders for Mbape to score 2 goals. It was a smart game.

Against PSG it was already apparent that Barca midfield struggled when put under pressure, making it easy for opponents to break through their defense. In the Clasico Flick didn’t seem to address this instead he employed the same tactics against Madrid. Flick should have learned from his mistakes and developed a Plan B for situations where the team is under pressure. It appears that Barca has grown too comfortable playing against weaker sides and they seem caught off guard whenever they face intense pressing as seen against PSG and Madrid.

Real Madrid poor performance can be partly attributed to Vini. Without him Madrid play is more fluid, with attacks coming from the left, right and center. Furthermore, Vini doesn’t contribute defensively. On top of that he creates too much drama and spends too much time complaining which disrupts the team's focus. He also tends to be overly selfish with the ball dribbling excessively & being too slow to make a decision which gives opposing defenders ample time to recover. I think Mourinho is actually fortunate that Vini is suspended following his red card.

El Clasico is definitely different from other matches. Although the expectations were high for Real Madrid, Mourinho was not able to fulfill those expectations, but Real Madrid certainly had high expectations for the last El Clasico match. When matches gets tough, you'll see the importance of a central forward. I maintain that Madrid won that match because Mbappe was always positioned to convert opportunities. Yamal and Raphinha are great guys at the game, but they cannot make up for a proper CF. January is around the corner, they can get serious with hiring Osimhen or they should keep hoping on Alvarez which Athletico Madrid is not going to release to rivals, it's their call to action.

I know G.Jesus is there, but he's not very dependable, they need a very ambitious striker, someone very passionate and less injury prone.

This is how narratives are formed because apparently, I have been seeing this everywhere. This is how the football world believes the saying that "Messi is talent while Ronaldo is hard work". Making it seem like Ronaldo doesn't have talent and Messi doesn't work hard either.

Barcelona has played Madrid about 8 times and won 6 of those times under Hansi Flick, but apparently, they can't do well against big teams. They lost to PSG, who are the best team in Europe for the past two seasons, and the world acts like Barcelona lost to just any team. They have gotten to the Semis of UCL and lost to Inter, lost to AtleticoMadrid  in the next season of the UCL due to a red card and even won the second leg, but apparently, they are not good against big teams. They have also won Bayern Munich during the Flick era. I always tell people not to fall for the popular narratives of football fans because it's not always accurate.

It's true that Barcelona has weaknesses, so do most teams, but losing to big teams is not one of them. Teams lose matches. PSG is the only team I can think of in the past two seasons that has won all their games against big teams, and just this season, they lost to Monaco.

It's great to win against a strong team. Real Madrid must be enjoying the win and looking for an opportunity to improve themselves. Real Madrid's win in this match was very important, especially for the new and experienced manager Mourinho. He will at least consider this success as his own because Real Madrid strategy in the match was different from all the other matches. having players like that changes the whole game, Paris Saint-Germain has the chance to go further and see outside the box with these fantastic players, i think they still have the chance to find other players, who can still lend a hand, these are the best teams in Europe and they are proving it every time.

hating on him does not really count if he gets the work done and so far, he is trying his best to improve the team in his own way. every coach has his style if managing a team and for a team like real madrid that houses a lot of stars, it takes a lot of dedication and effort to bring them right on track as a team. one thing about him is that he is always straight forward regarding his view. if his boys plays bad, he will be open about it and that is very instrumental in the growth of any team.

I was even surprised to see the Barcelona players, who are usually so good at capitalizing on opportunities, end up squandering so many chances. But perhaps it was because Real Madrid’s defense managed to disrupt the Barcelona players so effectively. However, my guess is that it comes down to the mentality of the Barcelona players, which simply isn’t as strong as that of the Real Madrid players.
We saw several times that Raphinha consistently took shots that missed the target. Or when he forced a shot even though there was a wide-open space. And what’s funny is the panic among the Barcelona defenders, which even led to Mbappé scoring an accidental goal. 

There were several chances for both teams and those chances were missed by Madrid and Barcelona players. Rapinha had a good finish and she had a few more chances that she should have taken advantage of. Lamine Yamal received a free ball that was very easy for him to put into the net but his shot went wide of the goal post. Basically, it was the first El Clasico match of the season and then both teams were under a lot of pressure to win, which is why there was a bit of a mixed feeling in the performance on the field. However, I hope the performance of both teams in the second El Clasico match will not be as mixed as it was in the El Clasico match, there will be more competition.

I don’t think what you’re saying is the case as regards Barcelona’s preparations for the game against PSG, Infact I think they were preparing for the el Classico more than the PSG game. The starting lineup of that game says it all, it looked like Flick didn’t take the champions league game that serious.

In a way the loss against PSG may have destabilised the Barcelona team and it showed Real Madrid how to play against Barça. Any good attacking team will always score against Barça, that’s one issue they have yet to resolve. The el Classico is never an easy game no matter the form of the teams.

They simply lacked preparation in their defense against teams that are strong rivals for them. Against PSG they were quite good at maintaining possession and even creating several good scoring opportunities on the attack. But their problem was their inability to finish effectively to score goals, where they still seemed to struggle greatly to capitalize on the good chances they created. And in yesterday’s El Clásico Barcelona faced the same issue, where they had plenty of golden opportunities while attacking Real Madrid’s defense but they squandered many of those chances. The most glaring aspect of that El Clásico match was the defensive errors by Barcelona that led to them conceding goals. We can see that the two goals Real Madrid scored were the result of Barcelona’s poor defense which led to those two goals. The first goal occurred because Gerard Martin failed to clear the ball and the second goal happened because Cubarsi failed to block Camavinga’s run allowing Real Madrid to score as Barcelona’s defense was wide open. Hansi Flick should have recognized some of the defensive mistakes they made in those two games so that they can compete on equal footing against other strong teams. If this isn’t addressed immediately other teams will see it as a weakness they can exploit to defeat them.

This two teams showed that they are not the best team in the world. playing against weak teams doesn’t make them better than any other club in the world. PSG who are the best team proved their strength against any team, even Arsenal with stronger defense in the world was unable to stop them in the Champions League final last season.

I don’t think striker is one of the main reasons for Barcelona this season. You said they lack top strikers, yet they can score five goals against weak teams. Raphinha is good enough to replace Lewandowski, even with Lewandowski is their squad last season, they failed to win the Champions League. But Gabriel Jesus is not an option for them, he’s not the best player to play for Barcelona. I think signing him is just like a waste of money.

Just as Barcelona started their season unbelievably, I thought they did not need any replacement for Lewandowski. However they lost two most important match against City and Madrid. Yet, Barca tried their absolute best to buy Alvarez to replace Lewa , but atletico madrid was not willing to sell. This Argentine star could have become worthy replacement for lewa. In winter transfer window Catalan club might make new offer to bring Alvarez.
