This is why I got from their whitepaper: The Pixels project contains a premine which totals 15% of maximum supply. This premine will be distributed to ensure no single person can be a point of failure. At the Pixel project we are aware of the trend for projects to launch with no premine or funding whatsoever. While this may be acceptable for projects with no real goals or expectations, there is little motivation for work to be done, nothing is free. We believe the opportunity costs that the developers sacrifice in order to work with Pixel need to be rewarded, and therefore should be.
To be honest, giving 15% to the core team is quite a lot even if you made it as a form of motivation but still, it is ridiculous, who do not sacrifice their own time and sweat building their own dream? The team needs to reconsider this issue, there will be no reward if this project fails. Giving 5% is already much let alone 15% from all of it. other than that, this project looks interesting for me. I wish the team can make a change regarding this premine

Thanks you for the question. So to prevent a single person from controlling every aspect and financial decision of the project it has been divided equally among the four founders. This loosely translates to each of us controlling the aspects of Marketing, Design, Operations, and Blockchain management. This allows, me for example to use the shares I manage more efficiently, I can just go out and purchase marketing related things without having a full board meeting. However, as stated the main purpose is to prevent a single point of failure/control. As for the the 15%, as stated in the whitepaper i'm aware people think its "a lot" but its really not. People have to pay for their dreams. I cant go hike mount Everest without a boat load of money. everything costs money. Its already cost fiat just to launch and will always cost that to maintain it. Financial incentive has to exist to motivate employees to spend quality time on the project. And there needs to be enough to hire additional qualified professionals as the project grows. I've seen many chains with no premine or funding die because everyone got bored, and I've seen many die bc they ran out of funding. This is not a hobby chain.

Came back to look at the progress and saw this in my terminal "Your Pixel node is syncing with the network (48.73% complete) You are 2692 blocks (0 days) behind the current peer you're connected to. Welcome to our 8-bit Dreamland!"
Not sure how I'm more blocks behind than the block explorer says have been mined.
I scrolled up a bit and found that it went from "New Top Block Detected: 1608" to "New Top Block Detected: 5251" in 38 seconds.
I'm also noticing the pool that I am connected to has been removed from the OP but without any information. Though, that shouldn't affect my wallet.
I should add, this only seems to be affecting pixeld. Pixelwallet shows correct height and says I'm synced.

A rogue miner with several MH hit the network last night and mined 2500+ blocks in a very short period. We hope to have this fixed the evening EST

15% goes to developers with simple premine print. How much % goes to regular users?

A great little gem of a project been mining since day 1, watched them successfully overcome an early chain attack. See a lot of good people in the community.

Pixel developers will release products as fast as is reasonably possible. These products are(but not limited to): Pixel dev created arcade style video games. And a platform that will allow other developers/game-creators to monetize their own games using the Pixel token.
developers monetizing their own games, please can you explain me how does it work? and how about the players? can you create a game who allows everyone earn their coins when they are playing a game?, of course the coin who I mean is your coin (project pixel)

Just noticed Pixel and it looks promising. Good case use, a bit different than the rest of the crop, great and helpful community. Working GUI and CLI wallet, working remote node for those that don't want to wait for sync of own node to finish. Join Discord server now and start enjoying Pixel RPG minigame. --> https://discord.gg/AfjJx7v
