Never heard about zencart how did you implement it to your webshop?

What CMS you are using is it WordPress?

The website of ZenCart looks dead because I can't access the website: zen-cart.com

You should avoid dealing with a third-party service for your bitcoin payments, you could add the same address for all payment with a contact form with the right information about the product. This is one of the multiple options you have to avoid another service takes your money first.

If you don't want to use your address and want to get a service for this, i would like to recommend bitpay https://bitpay.com/ecommerce

If you don't want to use your address and want to get a service for this, i would like to recommend bitpay https://bitpay.com/ecommerce

A better alternative now is to use https://btcpayserver.org/
it is all open source and doesn`t require KYC.

Bitpay is now demanding KYC for customers and merchants.

OP, you should avoid those shady services such as zencart (never heard of).

Can you past the transaction ID, or the public address? So we can track if it is already confirmed or not. It may be a wallet bug, not syncing.

The website of ZenCart looks dead because I can't access the website: zen-cart.com
https://www.zen-cart.com/ - You can't access this link? I just googled Zencart and was able to check their website, and it looks like the same thing OP is talking about (a payment processor).

and then i see the transaction its confirmed in blockchain explorer.
but i dont received any BTC in my electrum bitcoin wallet
If the transaction is confirmed on a blockchain explorer (for example, blockchain.info), it's likely an issue with your electrum wallet. Make sure you check the address so it's the same as the electrum one, and you should either restart your wallet, or re-sync it. If this still doesn't work, import the seed into another wallet (mycelium for mobile works).

If you don't want to use your address and want to get a service for this, i would like to recommend bitpay https://bitpay.com/ecommerce

Great recommendations, Bitpay has recently added mandatory KYC for transactions over 2,000 USD, so if your store is selling expensive items, it'll be better to go with the open-source payment processor, or deal with the KYC issues and pick the mainstream one.

Hi! I think this thread should be moved to Beginners and Help. Anyway, can you post your website, and transaction address? ,You should also try to contact the customer support of zencart.

For the future business persons who would like build an e-commerce website/ online shop with bitcoin payment, you should test it first of it is working and you should also research and weigh in different opinion before using a third party services like zencart.

checking the transaction ID alone is not enough.
start by checking if the address that the transaction is paying to actually belongs to you. you said "put my master public key in configuration module", if it is the zencart's module then it might be their fault. master public key has no additional information for which derivation path to use or even what type of address to use. they might have gotten a wrong address from it. in which case you have actually received the coins but you are looking at a different address inside your Electrum wallet.

i use electrum wallet to receive payment in my webshop, i use zencart.
I notice it has a few plugins for accepting crypto, which plugin do you use?

and then i see the transaction its confirmed in blockchain explorer.
but i dont received any BTC in my electrum bitcoin wallet
is the receiving address in that confirmed transaction exist in your electrum?

start by checking if the address that the transaction is paying to actually belongs to you. you said "put my master public key in configuration module", if it is the zencart's module then it might be their fault. master public key has no additional information for which derivation path to use or even what type of address to use. they might have gotten a wrong address from it.
I think that exactly what happens here, a derivation path issue
if I'm not mistaken electrum is using BIP44 and maybe the module is using BIP32

@OP if the problem is derivation path, don't worry... your coin is not lost
you just need to figure out how to get the private key of that address and import it into your electrum

Have you contacted them via the support forum at www.zen-cart.com/forum.php to see if anyone else is struggling with the same thing? Well, that would be a good start, I hope you get it all sorted soon.  Wink   Also look into the alternative software that were posted in your thread.  Wink

When I opened the site platform of https://www.zen-cart.com/ it was good and the interface also looks good.
Did you try to contact their services about what happened to you transaction to their site? And I think you can
can create a topic to their forum so that some of the members their can give or might help you out to resolve your
problem issues.

Zen cart people won't be able to help. I suggest the OP provide us with the address where the funds were sent, confirm that the address is a part of his wallet (how to do that?), tell us his electrum version and the information for wallet type and script type under wallet menu > information. It wouldn't hurt if he also provided us a link to the exact zencart payment plugin he used.

Checking the address on a block explorer is a good idea but electrum seeds can't be used with other wallets.

Were you able to verify whether the address indeed belongs to your wallet? ( In electrum console: ismine("1YourAddressHere") -> Returns either true or false).

Also, what version of electrum are you using ? Are you connected to an electrum server ?
It might be just a connection- / display- issue.

Maybe next time better use erc20 wallet for received your payment, you can use eth as payment platform your product because is easy and transaction need short time.

What ?
Why would OP want to accept some shittokens not being used by anone in his online store ?

The time it takes for a transaction to propagate is the same.
And the confirmation times is different, yes. But 1 confirmation on the bitcoin network is worth way more than 3 confirmations on the ETH network, security-wise.

To hythan7idx

I tried to find electrum on zen-cart docs and forum but it seems you put a wrong setup by adding the Electrum master public key to zen-cart.com
According to their forum thread the required public key is for google recaptcha not for putting any BTC wallet master public keys.

Or possibly you use other zen-cart modules like coingate? or Coinsnap? Which is not safe to use.

I got source from here: https://www.zen-cart.com/search.php?searchid=2209457

Better to move on and switch to BTCpay as suggested above or other self and hosted payment gateway for your webshop.

if I'm not mistaken electrum is using BIP44 and maybe the module is using BIP32

the main problem is that the master public key (or basically any extended priv/pub key) doesn't have any information about the derivation paths, address type,... his MPK might be for a Bech32 set of addresses which use both a different path and a different address from a legacy address type. so there are multiple BIPs and paths depending on the combination.

by the way BIP32 doesn't define specific values for paths.

I thought you can see a difference on extended keys for different paths
afaik extended prv/pub key for Bech32 starts with a 'z', zprv/zpub
while for legacy starts with 'x', and for p2sh starts with 'y', or am I wrong?

The wallet module you installed on your zencart shop, hope it is a trusted one and not the one someone has already changes the address, because if you say that the transaction has been confirmed already, then I see no reason why it should not reflect already, I know that I do get some delays sometimes when money is being sent to me, there was a particular transaction that took almost 12 hrs before I could even receive it, but then, I know that the reason for that was confirmation.

I don’t know how long you have been waiting, but maybe you need to give it another 24 hrs and see maybe it would reflect otherwise, you need to find out yourself If the fault didn’t come from you, maybe wrong address or maybe you have just been scammed.

afaik extended prv/pub key for Bech32 starts with a 'z', zprv/zpub

extended keys don't exactly have the path itself. they have 2 things, 1 byte indicating the depth and 4 bytes indicating the index of that child. so for example if you had this:
Code:
xpub6FHa3pjLCk84BayeJxFW2SP4XRrFd1JYnxeLeU8EqN3vDfZmbqBqaGJAyiLjTAwm6ZLRQUMv1ZACTj37sR62cfN7fe5JnJ7dh8zL4fiyLHV
all you could tell from the path is the following: m/X/X/X/2 where X are the values you don't know. all we can tell is that it is from "depth" 4 and the index is 2.

as for the starting string, you are correct. i wasn't thinking about the 4 version bytes at the start. it could work as long as wallets do use it.

"ERR_SOCKS_CONNECTION_FAILED" indicates that the browser on your PC is configured to run through a SOCKS proxy of some description... VPN? Antivirus/AntiMalware? Tor? Something else? Huh

Might want to have a poke around in your browser settings to see what exactly your browser is trying to connect through... and then check that as to why it is failing to connect.
