What promotion are you talking about? I'm quite confused about what you're saying. Did ledger promote having two wallets?

When they introduced the nano x, there was an offer to buy 2 wallets at a discount (nano x + nano s).
They promoted is as the 'backup pack', to always have a backup in case your first device gets lost or breaks.

That's quite handy, but not necessary IMO.

I haven't tried recovering my seed in Ledger, and I'm just curious with how you are going to input the seed. Too lazy to search unless I need to.

It is horrible.
You have to go through each word and select each letter using the 'left' and 'right' button, then choosing it by clicking with both buttons.
This can take quite some time until you have entered your 24 words.
You don't need to enter the complete word, it will suggest you words which are in the wordlist and match with what you have entered, but it still an annoying process.

It really is. I had to go through it about a month ago when an update suddenly wiped my Nano S clean. It takes 5-10 minutes to get it back up and running again. My main concern was that I didn't know why the device wiped itself clean since I never experienced it before. It had me worried until I restored my account.

It is idea that Ledger is promoting for some time, and I do not see anything wrong in that, except for the fact that for some people is too expensive to buy one hardware wallet, two is just to much.
What promotion are you talking about? I'm quite confused about what you're saying. Did ledger promote having two wallets?

You shouldn't be confused with my post since you post link to back pack bundle in your post :

and they say about it :

Quote
This pack contains a Ledger Nano X and a Ledger Nano S to always keep your assets available and out of harm’s way.
Securely manage your assets on-the-go from your smartphone with the Ledger Nano X, and keep the Ledger Nano S for at-home use or in a safe storage as a backup device.

Regarding some discount form Ledger, why not save some money if they offers something like this every year. But maybe we can save even some BTC if price is go up in next months, it is not same if you pay 0.015 or 0.01 for same device.

It is horrible.
It's the same when using a passphrase. When using a passphrase of sufficient length and random characters (which everyone should be doing) it becomes quite time consuming and a real pain to enter it when needed. There are only two other options though: Enter it on your computer like you do with Trezor, which can expose you to key logging malware, or create a hardware wallet with a full keyboard, which would be both bulky and more expensive.

It's not great in terms of usability, but at least it's secure.

Personally, I don't own that many altcoins but it would be nice to be able to view more than four at once.  If the Ledger X has that capability (I don't own one), it's an improvement.
There is nothing stopping you from viewing all your coins with a Nano S (hell they even added ERC-20 token support Roll Eyes)... If the coin is supported in Ledger Live, you do NOT need to have the coin app installed on the device to be able to view them. Once it is added to your portfolio, it'll show up just fine.

The issue is only with coins that don't have native support in Ledger Live... and tbh, if it isn't natively supported, chances are it's most likely worthless anyway Tongue

That's a weird way to distinguish between worthy and worthless coins.

I wouldn't regard Monero as worthless. It is the only coin which offers a decent anonymity. It is not natively supported by ledger live.
On the other hand, Pivx and Dash claim to be private (which is plain wrong), their transactions an easily be deanonymized. They are natively supported by ledger live.

That's quite handy, but not necessary IMO.
I do think that it's definitely a want, not a necessity. If you would want convenience without having to pull out a cable and put into your phone or PC, it's going to save you some time, but if you don't need it, better invest it in something else.

You have to go through each word and select each letter using the 'left' and 'right' button, then choosing it by clicking with both buttons.
This can take quite some time until you have entered your 24 words.
I can imagine the hardship that you might have to go through with having that many words and manually doing it. I'm planning to do it to my Nano S and I think it would gruesome to go through.

You shouldn't be confused with my post since you post link to back pack bundle in your post :
I honestly got confused with that. Maybe I was occupied with something else in my mind back then. So that is what you are referring to and I got confused with just a few words.

Regarding some discount form Ledger, why not save some money if they offers something like this every year. But maybe we can save even some BTC if price is go up in next months, it is not same if you pay 0.015 or 0.01 for same device.
I do believe that saving that much would be helpful for the future, or not just save, invest in another thing. The best investment, in my opinion, is knowledge/education.

I wouldn't regard Monero as worthless. It is the only coin which offers a decent anonymity. It is not natively supported by ledger live.
Additionally, there are very few wallet which support Monero, because Monero is very different (on technical level) than other cryptocurrency.
I do think that Monero is a secure cryptocurrency and protecting you with its privacy, having that stealth addresses, etc. I don't think people who do not have a technical background with regards to computer terms or cryptocurrency terms, and they would have a hard time understanding Monero.

It was a tongue-in-cheek, throwaway line... hence the accompanying emote Wink Apparently, my attempt at humour fell a bit short.

The main point still stands tho... You don't even need the device attached (let alone the coin apps installed) to be able to view all the supported coins that you've added into your Ledger Live portfolio.

That's exactly the point where I am. I have a Nano S. And I'm thinking I will buy a Nano X to use with all daily movements...
Now I know I'm not crazy Tongue

I'll keep an eye for a nice discount.

Nice.  That would be more than enough for me, and I probably should have bought a Nano X instead of the Nano S.  It was my first hardware wallet and I didn't do enough research before making the purchase, just like when I bought the useless Keepkey.  Oh well.  They aren't that expensive, but I just don't own enough crypto to justify it.
It is really nice, to be honest, I don't really use most of them. Of course, BTC is the most used amongst all the apps that I downloaded unto my Nano X.

For your experience having bought the Nano S, it's also the same with me. I have used Nano S at first then when someone approached me that he will buy a Nano S, I offered to buy with him a bundle of Nano S and Nano X [1], Nano X went to me and I never regretted it. Having two hardware wallets would be too much because I'm not sure what to do with my Nano S now. I'm just using it as somewhat of a "Colder Wallet" if that makes any more sense Lol. I transfer coins that I know that I wouldn't use and just let it stay in it. Nano X is my go-to Hardware wallet, all the time.
