The problem with this hypothetical situation is that it will never happen. Ethereum price, or other coins/investments, won't simply continue to decline straight down (well unless something so obvious happens like the coin is a scam or the company is shutting down).

There will always be people who will be buying at certain levels and these people buying will trigger bull runs where the price then continues to increase (even if for a short period of time)!

This is beautiful in decentralization. It is the users who decide whether the coin is alive. I am sure that the society associated with Ethereum will not let the price fall all the time. Vitalik has proven many times that it is worth trusting him, so I'm sure Ethereum will succeed sooner or later.

There is absolutely no doubt about that, Ethereum is still a very strong project and they have very great community that will stay behind it, Ico might have dealt with it a little bit, especially the way scammers abused it which makes Ethereum not to have much reliable projects to produce and discouraging lots of investors, but with the new concept of Ethereum 2.0 and the great features they are planning to add to it, I know within me that 2020 will be a very great year for Ethereum and the ICO market generally.

It would be a loss for those who would not see this present value of bitcoin as a proper entry point or those that are selling their Ethereum right now because of last of distrust that they have in them, I just hope there would not be too many regrets in the future.

There is just no one will keep buying ETH anymore to make its price of up if all investors who bought ETH while the price was less than $1 are selling them to quit now that they knew its not going to survive the competition due to the newer platforms that are just scalable than ETH. The platform is just going to die because of a bigger project like EOS and TRX.  

I personally don't see the ethereum platform demise coming anytime soon. The bearish trend on the market is general as both bitcoin and a substantial number of altcoin has been hit and ethereum happens to be one of the altcoin that is declining like others. I believe that the market would recover before long and ethereum would join bitcoin in the uptrend.

We see ETH 85 USD as all time low after bear market. A journey from 1,400 USD to 85 USD.
After 85 USD forces 360 USD and now trading around 174 USD.
Almost 2X from all time low. But far far away from all time high value 1,400 USD.
This is crypto, everything is possible, so ETH can go back more depending on the market conditions.
By the way if it breaks 100 USD, I do not want think about other alt coins in the market, as ETH is one of the strongest coin in the market.

Price declines are not unique to ETH. if they use NEO or WAVES, it is even worse when those altcoins are even more discounted than ETH. Up to now, the foundation of Ethereum really works very well and their smart contract is still highly appreciated.
About bear market, it will soon end and be replaced by bull run. Don't worry, the market never drops forever.

Thats not true ,failed and scam project is not really affect the price of ETH the ICO did. Thats not true ,failed and scam project is not really affect the price of ETH the ICO did. Since more of the ICO accepting ETH as investment and too many of them has been successful most of developers sold that raise fund and exchange it to fiat and each of those ICO affect the price of ETH more ICO success more declining of the price  of eth will be experience.

It didn’t continue declining because from the fall of below $100 now we are near $200 again  if bitcoin passed $10,000 again surely Ethereum will break 200 as well

It seems unlikely that ethereum will continue to experience price declines, because ether is the second crypto that most people make investment assets and have the largest capitalization at this time apart from btc, in the last 24 hours btc and ether have raised prices although not too significantly but this shows if the movement The ether is in a positive trend, indeed in trading there is often a decline in prices, but of course there will be certain limits where the ether will again increase in price as long as there are still many people / traders who indeed buy ether for their investment.

The advantage of even holding bitcoin among all altcoins is that Ethereum is such a coin that usually respond to the increase if bitcoin anytime that we have one. If bitcoin lift in price today, you can expect that Ethereum will also rise in price unlike other altcoins that would have to wait for the full altcoins season for them to be able to gain any high profitable value.

Yeah the best way to accumulate is when the prices are dumping and we only need to find the best one before the pump(or much better to buy at least 2-3 for sure profit)

If eth's decline is still under control and the chances of a return are still high, it will certainly be a good opportunity for us to accumulate when eth is still a coin that the community has much appreciated and useful in the market, however, if eth continually depreciates and declines without any resistance, I think we should stop. When most of the projects that fail and in funding using ethereum can indeed be one of the triggers of falling prices from ethereum because we many projects that fail and get so much ethereum they sell the ethereum assets and the amount is not small. so many lists of failed projects and huge funds.plus that this year IEO has become the main interest of investors. and the presence of IEO has no effect on ethereum
