A friend of mine who is a holder of ethereum and xrp once told me he has lost confidence in the altcoins because it has nothing to offer and the altcoins always follow the suit of btc. The rate at which it is going down has brought fear to him. And I believe he is not tge only one thinking tge same way. If we are to open a floor for people to share their experiences and thought about altcoins, you will be amazed. But one thing I always tell him and I believe it goes for all those who share the same thought with my friend is that never lose confidence. This is not the first time altcoin market has done this. There is good days ahead and the market shows. I believe this is the time to buy and hodl more of altcoins like eth and xrp. Enjoy it while it last because it may be too late some days ahead.

Many altcoins holdere are converting their holdings to bitcoin due to the high dominance of bitcoin. That is the real deal, people would always be deceived by what they see or hear. The cryptocurrency market is so unpredictable to the extent that if you don't have enough patience you would always lose to your holdings to panic selling.

Tell me, which altcoins have you invested into and held for a long term. It's easy to talk and make up all these stories. How can a person not lose confidence when he bought at $1000 and it dropped to less than $100?  

One should understand before investing in altcoins that the price of the coins will drop in the starting because for the first few years its impossibe to make profit out of any business. It takes time and hardwork and most importantly patience with rigorous marketing. But many give up after 2 or 3 months including the investors and the team members. When people loose confidence because of this they decide to sell all their crypto assests including eth and major cryptos which cause a drop in the price.

Forgive me if am pessimistic, altcoins are going down and it's not getting much better either
This stories of hope is just what it is a mere stories. And don't build your empire on stories of hope but on more realistic things.
I think altcoin are being dumped for bitcoin these days my thoughts though. We are seeing differentiation in price of bitcoin to alternative coin

I'm holding altcoins and I was able to sustain the status of my portfolio through bigger part for bitcoin. Your friend probably gave up since those two coins didn't moved that much and he might be expecting something in return while bitcoin is stabilizing.

XRP didn't moved and instead it has went down.

ETH moved but it struggles to maintain higher position on $200.

It is always better to hodl whenever you see a rapid fall in any altcoin like what is happening to ethereum now.

For top coins, I agree with your opinion to hodl whenever a rapid fall happens. While for new altcoins, I am not sure to hodl, learn carefully what is happening. If the project is not promising enough or it is likely to be dead coins yet a low interest from investors, then you may consider selling than losing everything.

Patience and persistence is very key for any individual who wants make it with altcoins. 

Yes, especially for long term investors, patience is a must and don't be easily influenced by others.

I believe that the market is like a wheel which is moving from up to down, back to up and down again. We are still facing the bear market until now, but the situations will change soon. Maybe we don't know when it comes, but we don't have to give up because we already decide to stay in the market until the bull run comes. That is why it is now worth investing in those altcoins that will bring stable profits in a year or several years. Bitcoin is the first good cryptocurrency program, but a program. This is a universal coin, which nevertheless slows down in development as a means of payment. Behind altcoins are specific projects with a specific business. This direction of cryptocurrencies will still be modified, however, they have a good perspective. In the future, this market should more and more resemble the stock market, now you just need to invest your funds correctly, and in some cases, change the cryptocurrency in time.

Im also 100% in for altcoins,i do have few bitcoin but im not holding btc for long term,i have many good altcoins with good potential and im sure that the present altcoin market condition is just for a while,it will never last forever,a patient dog will always eat the fattest bone.

It will be wise to be smarter in todays market,this is nothing comparable to 2017 so i will advice you guys to pick good altcoins only,do not pick coins with no working product backing them up and when the next altcoin season comes shitcoins might not even favoured from it at like in 2017

There are two school of thoughts here:

[1] Those individuals that crypto is a get rich scheme. Buy a token, recommended by someone and hope that it will go to the moon.

[2] Those individuals who are very smart, playing with their money is a big risk on them. So they would rather hold the coins for so long and wait for the market to go on a massive bull-run and book the profit.

It's really up to us. We have a choice here. We are no longer in the year wherein we are going to see x10-x50 coins in the market. Be smart, just saying.

1. Do not rely on a single crypto coin or token
2. Always add more to your portfolio because good projects will always get into the space

Your friend,,, and 99% of the crypto world,,, is a speculator. The problem is with the initial setting of expectation. If you hold thinking, I will sell when the price is x100 or whatever, then I am sorry but prepare to be disappointed.

If you think crypto is all about going up and up, then prepare to be disappointed. History shows things happen in cycles. And with altcoins, some times the bubbles never recover.

So you guys have to start thinking about long term. The altcoin as a product and a technology. Not as a profitmaker.

Market generally now is down and even BTC is trying to force itself up while its move bring down the alts but that still doesn't say the alts like ETH and xrp or some other are useless , regardless of their situation now because looking at it from Technical aspect , it is very much require to dump more and that will also be a good sign tonpump when it finally touch bottom on monthly chart before we see a boom move and that can be a sudden move .

The best thing to do right now converts your altcoins to bitcoins if you want to minimize your loss. Because the price as this moment is not stabilizing and there will be a chance to drop this current price to lower than its current price.

But if you still insist that someday the price will return to normal then hold on to that courage because anything is possible in this industry who know the Altcoins that you currently holding may double the price by the next month.
