I believe yourself. But there are lots of money as you said already $3000. So in this case I think you should increase trust level. But if you use bank method to exchange would be nice. OP are trying to exchange $3000 worth of bitcoin. But he is in a hurry. The amount is also big. If there is no escrow buyer will not interested I think. On the other hand, he can easily  bank transfer for security or exchange website I already suggested.
