I never bet on Politics, I do like betting on "events" such as the Eurovision Song Contest for example and have made some good money there - simply because it cannot be compared to "usual" sports betting and the bookies dont have as much information - value all the way Smiley

On which site do you bet on competition like song contest etc ? There may a gambling for the miss universe / Miss USA contests too ? Although I think it will not be easy to predict the winners of such contests but I may try my luck.

I am not sure of all crypto sportsbooks that have politics betting, or specials like Eurivision, etc. But I know that 1xBit have some politics. However, I have never used their sportsbook and cannot make a recommendation about it.

When we launch our Bitcoin betting exchange at exbet.io, we intend to offer politics also. Apart from US politics, which country politics do people think would be interesting to offer markets on?

Let see how it would turn out. There use to be directbet which list elections but they are gone now. I wasn't betting on it during that time but I believe they still exist during Trump won. Election in the corrupt countries would really be something to talk about and people are very passionate defending their candidate. Maybe election in South American countries, Middle East and Far East countries. I guess every month will have a battle of candidate here in gambling section.

I came here because the title is the topic that makes me curious.
I never bet on politics, I'm really confused about how to bet on politics

How does political betting work?
Are there really sites that provide political bets?
Are there any special countries related to this (politics)

I want to know about political gambling, can this really be profitable?

Politics used to be quite popular market in most betting platforms. It is based on political events such as elections, policies, resignations, impeachments, etc. Check through some popular betting sites, I think you will see some.

Wow, very impressive. I just learned this that the stakes in politics are huge.

I left betting in politics only related to the election, apparently there are many more that can be wagered in politics other than the election.

I will try to see more about betting in politics, thank you for the notice.

I never bet on politics but if it's as predictable as some of you are saying maybe I should try.  Roll Eyes

There are sites like https://www.betmoose.com/ that allow you to bet on any event. You can already bet on Trump becoming the next president Cheesy

Onehash used to have politics from other countries but I don't know what happened. The only sportsbook I know that currently have politics line available is Fairlay.
Most sportsbook don't have lines available on politics because the election is still few months from now. They usually add these events when it's a few days or a week away.

Some good suggestions there.. in the end I guess it is about making sure there would be enough interest from people to bring enough liquidity to the exbet.io betting exchange. Betfair has a reasonable selection of politics markets, and not just elections based, but also about Brexit at the moment - which month it will happen, if it will happen etc. So there is a lot of potential market subjects apart from pure elections betting.

Brexit is very complicated to understand for someone not from there actually. I'm not from there but what I do know is that changing treaties can take a very long discussion for all the European nations. Passing the law itself is going to take years. I heard brexit years ago, had they already got freedom?  Election has the shorter time period which is good.

It's an excellent point you make. People only rarely want to bet about something that could tke months (or even years) to get a result and possible payout. Ante-Post markets on Superbowl winner, or Champions League winner are about the longest market terms.. and they don't take as much money as people expect, at least not until the last few weeks and months.

However, even with something like Brexit, there are a lot of markets that can be offered which resolve in days or weeks or at least a few months, for example:

- Will UK leave with no-deal by Oct 31st?
- Will the Withdrawal Agreement be passed in UK Parliament (this summer, versions I, II, and III)?
- Will there be a general election in 2019? (not directly Brexit, but related)

The question is, how many bettors are interested in betting on this stuff? Maybe lot sin the UK, but not so many outside...? US politics probably has the biggest interest internationally, and we see this in the fact that Betfair has a lot of US Politics markets despite not being available to people inside the US.

I remember seeing Hillary Clinton at 1.4x odds as next president of the U.S. for the longest time, thinking to myself that was easy money all day long. But I never actually bet on it, and now I'm glad I didn't, of course! Don't think I've ever been so wrong about something in my entire life. That's why I don't bet on politics.

The odd thing was, the site I was looking at didn't even have odds for Donald Trump, just "Republican Candidate." I guess Trump was too much of a wildcard.

Adding dates on the betting statement would indeed make it better, everything is unsure of course. But for a politically updated person, they know about lobbying. No-deal is mostly what they'd do here. Pretty obvious EU is making sure that consequences is very real for United Kingdom. You'd rather be sticking to elections.

if you have a good feeling on it , you should follow it because there is a good chance that it will come out and besides if it comes out and you dont place a bet , you will only feel bad inside but if you place a bet , win or loose you wont feel bad at all because you already follow what your mind says to you  .  we should often bet on politics so that we can be more familiarize with it   . politics is really interesting , we should support it so that many sites will open politic betting

Yes, problem is, the more precise you make the bet with dates, the more you risk it becoming uninteresting (too precise, too hard to have an opinion) for people. It's kind of like Player Props... # of passing touchdowns for Tom Brady in Superbowl is interesting to a lot of people. But # of penalty flags thrown on cornerback X in some mid-season game is less interesting.

I have never bet in politics. Because I really don't understand politics. So, it is very difficult to bet there.
Though many say betting in politics is very easy and can be profitable. I don't believe it's easy, for me it's easier to gamble dice or poker.

^ Which part that you don't understand? Just give a try because that was very exciting and give a thrill whos gonna will win at the end. Well, the first time I bet on politics was last 2016. During the presidential election in my country. I bet 5 thousand dollars because I get mad when there is someone who will discriminate my favorite presidentiable so fortunately my presidentiable won the election and he is the president of my country now. Nevertheless, I also earn from it and I feel so happy.

I think that particular election had the highest number of gambling participants. Everyone taught it was a very good chance of making money, no one saw Trump coming at all. I had a bet on it, though not an online bet, but it involved a whole lot of money and I lost.

I don’t have regrets anyway because I understand that gambling is just that way and the worse thing with that bet, was the way everyone believed the election would be in favor of Hillary Clinton.

I don’t bet very of often, I only participated in the election between Trump and Hilary and that was my first and last bet on politics.

Do we really have a lot of people here who bet for politics?

Sorry in our community this is not usual because the truth is we really don’t care about whom will be the winner because same thing happens every elections and that is corruption will be in position in the end

Maybe not unless the betting will be for the abolishment of politicians?Or politics? I will surely bet half of my funds

My case is also alike like at times the good candidates or party loses and others win . This just goes beyond thinking and in many countries where manual votes are taken into consideration their is high chances of manipulation happening internally .

Politics seems predictable most of the time but looks like few people actually bet on it. Example, you know Joe Bidden has probably 50% chance of winning the Democrats primary. What stops you from picking and betting on that? Do you bet on politics and what are your winning stats.

Some time around October 2016 after the Access Hollywood tape was released, a certain betting site gave 108 to Trump winning the election. I believed strongly that Trump was going to win despite everything thrown at him. I had $5,000 and wanted to pick the odd. Somehow, I didn't follow through. That could have given me over half a million dollars in winning.

How often do you bet on Politics? Any reason why most people don't really bet on Politics? Do you know any trusted betting site that offers good odds in American Politics?

Top gambling sites only offer this when there is an election on the country where they have a lot of members like the United States, here in our country it's hard to do betting because if these so many survey site that predicts who will eventually win, and the worse part is they are always correct in their surveys, no local online gambling site will dare set up a bet here.

The surveys are usually right if those surveyed end up coming out to vote. I guess the surveys can be wrong if the losing side in survey succeeds in persuading many of his/her fans to vote... This is probably why the surveys are important to politicians and their supporters.
