When you do a contest you can put a lag in there or a latency, doesn't have to be because of the internet connection or anything, you can put a latency in the results, so you can actually gamble let's say at 14:59 but your bet still may not be considered in the contest that ends at 15:00 (times are just for example) hence if you actually put that in there then people will have to play even earlier to get away from it and if they play earlier than their opponents they are racing will see it as well and at least it will be a fair race, however if you don't put it there then someone may come in and do a huge bet on the last minute without anyone noticing. That's how you can eliminate the last second snipers, you just have to put some small latency like 30 seconds and it will be fine.
Actually we don't put latency on bets but the actual leaderboard page only updates every 15 minutes. So even if you do try to snipe the 1st position right at the end you won't know excatly how much you need to wager to do so

Just under 1 and a half hours left of todays daily leaderboard. Current rankings are shown below We will keep running daily leaderboard contests until Sunday. If we don't see an increase in volume or players by then we will close the site and return any investments or balances. Good luck

Only 9 users in 10 top wagered gamblers!!! Seems that the gambling website has not been successful to attracting gamblers. If we don't see an increase in volume or players by then we will close the site and return any investments or balances.
Even if that does not happen, you shouldn't close your website. You have been online only for a month. You should be more patient. This behavior will cause those who have already joined your website leave you too.

Too early to judge like that, it was their 2nd wagering contest and it was the first contest with lower rewards. Not surprising enough if there were less players compared to the first one that has higher rewards. Bear in mind that it is also a new site dice site, it is not easy to attract gamblers because there are so many other dice sites out there. Give the site more times and lets see what they can do to attract gamblers.

Also the more people that wager the higher the prize is as it is progressive.

They really need advertisement. The most important thing that can makes a gambling website successful is how developers promote their website especially in these days as there are many gambling websites. I have visited their website. It is really convenient for those who interested in dice game. But the problem is almost no one is aware of existence of this gambling website. Look at the OP. There are only some short paragraphs without any photo or any other thing which is attractive for people. Even I didn't know they have a Twitter account as nothing about that can be found in the OP.

Are you trying to suggest them to have signature campaign? The wagering contest is basically one of many ways to promote the site. You can compare with the one you are promoting through your signature. Which one has better traffic every single day? As I can say there is no big difference on both sites in case of the traffic, there are only 1-2 online users when I visit the site. BTCdice even had more users when they ran the first wagering contest as far as I can see. If it is true that BTCdice is going to close the site if the volume does not increase till Sunday then I can say that the owner of BTCdice is a type of person who do not want to struggle or easy to give up or maybe he did not do some researches first about this bitcoin gambling industry especially dice game where the competition is just so high since past few years.

Are you trying to suggest them to have signature campaign?
Signature campaign is a great way for promoting every website that is related to crytocurrencies. But it does not gurantee the success. I guess even if the owner of BTCdice runs a signature campaign will give up after 1-2 weeks and only wastes his money. Also, a signature camapign won't be helpful if bticointalk is the only place for advertising. Check the OP. Can you find a Telegram group, Facebook page or Twitter account? BTCdice has only created a website and then created a free thread on bitcointalk.

Just keep on spending that money on marketing instead of competition and you may actually get some people in here but considering they are spending investment money it might create a challenge. At one hand if you spend investors money but manage to get a bunch of people then they will make a profit on gamblers and will be able to recoup that investment, on the other hand if they fail then they won't be able to pay investors back. Hence, it is a big dilemma what to do, maybe they are doing the correct way, maybe they are not doing it the right way, nobody can really know. Maybe you guys should hire a consultant who is known in bitcoin casino world so you can get some pointers from them and do what they say since they already done it and managed to run a casino.

Both competition/contest and marketing are needed for a better result. Competition without advertising or advertising without competition wont be effective way to make the site survive for long time. So it is better if they can do both at the same time. There are many advertising strategy by using social media (twitter, facebook, telegram, discord, etc) and I think it is cheaper than signature campaign, at least they should spread the word as much as possible in this online world.

If we start a twitter, facebook and telegram profile we wont bring players with it. The "marketing" we are doing is giving daily contests, which are always +ev by the way. Look at Primedice, yolodice, stake and bitsler. All with daily or weekly contests and the prizes are NEVER plus ev yet people still play them. I don't see why people wouldn't also play on ours. This forum used to be enough to attract people to a site. All dice sites from 2012-2015 used this forum exclusively and grew from that. That's why I said previously there obviously aren't many gamblers left here. People could support the site by inviting others to join with their affiliate link. But they won't because then they have extra competition in the leaderboard. They don't think that it would actually benefit them long term because then the prizes will be bigger and the site grows.

What I mean by marketing is something like advertisement not competition/contest on your site. I call it as promotion, advertisement is a way to make your site noticeable for new people. Indeed there is no guarantee that it will be effective but as an owner you should do your best. Many other old and big sites are still doing advertisement till now to try to get more and more players. If there is no more gambler in this forum, those old and big sites would have stopped their promotion and advertisement in this forum. Wondering, if you do not want to do social media advertisement and you think that this forum is not useful anymore because there is no more gamblers left then how and where would you promote your site?

The site offers low house edge, but it cannot be compared to the old and trusted gambling sites. Moreover the site needs to be more aged, before someone can invest a long amount in the site. Nevertheless, let's hope for the best and wait to see more and aweosme contests and promos from the site.

It is not really "getting advertised" when you do a competition still you want people to know about it, it is more like creating an awareness and they are totally different things, they look like similar things but they are actually quite different. One is saying people "hey come check our website out we are good" and there is not wrong with that, that is advertising and everyone is doing it with their signature/twitter campaigns and topics and all that. The other is "hey we are giving out extra money, you may even go +ev with this" and that is creating awareness for your competition and that is really something different. Quite similar things but the purpose is different, you are not promoting the website itself as a whole, you are not creating enough awareness for your competition among this community to participate. Doing both must be needed as per current level of competition we are experiencing among gambling houses.
