I can advise to you to buy alts from top 20 CMC.

For the safety reasons, I agree with you to choose top coins, especially the top 20 CMC. However, you must find out the most promising one.
Then, I suggest to not buy a stable coin, so avoid to buy Tether [USDT]. It has low volatility, no chance to rise significantly.
In my opinion, you are better to consider coins with high volatility or quite consistently in improving. So, I advise you to consider ETH, ADA, XEM, or EOS.

It's best to choose one of the top 20 currencies in the market. Ethreum and Binance Coin are two very good coins at this time, Litecoin is also a good choice, Litecoin is smaller Bitcoin version.

Invest in the top currencies in the market. Those are good currencies and they have confirmed their position. Ethereum and Binancoin seem to be good currencies to invest today.

Exactly, there has been absolutely no indication yet that altcoins will return to their previous states any time soon.
They've been losing a lot of ground versus Bitcoin, so I'd personally wait until you see some indication of them rising again.
