This days I do more of staking then mining due to the high cost of mining, and since the market have been down for some time now I have decided to close down my mining farm and go into staking to cut cost.

Im staking right now and have already sold all of my rigs and then move some amounts to staking some promising coin.
My personal reason is the mining is facing a difficult situation when almost the majority of coins are getting more and more difficulty on its network and that makes my incomes was decreasing a lot.
That's why i have been decided to sell all of the rigs and then try to do more effort in trading and staking.
I like POW but i don't like how it was going so difficult to be mined by small miners like me in the past.

I did not do mining or staking, i am more prefer to trading and i do it everyday because i think trading is easy to do.
Mining need a big cost and electricity.

PoW (Proof of Work)

PoS (Proof of Stake)

The most popular consensus mechanisms.

Proof of Stake protocols are gaining traction.

What about you, personally?

Are you mining, are you staking, or are you doing both? And why?

I told my friends that few projects are already leaving POW behind nd moving to POS for a reason that is unknown but i believe these projects devs must have a good reason for switching if not?why would they switch?

My experience with Prove of staking is easier and convenient than Prove of work to me,the reward is no doubt very low than mining PoW coins but all the same you can upgrade your POS rewards by buying more coins to add to your wallet for staking,if you have the money to build a mining farm why not consider POS instead? its more easier than POW

Actually i am into both POW and POS coins but they both have one advantage over the other, for example i have seen many projects that are still alive today all because of Prove of Work, these coins are profitable when mining and this is what keeps them alive, they have no real use cases, its almost the same for POS coins as well. So this is why i am not surprised that ETH want to start using POS as well,if its profitable enough many ETH haters will have no choice but to embrace ETH

Either mining or staking they are both good ways of earning in crypto space and they both have their advantages and disadvantages too so its all on you to chose the one that suit you very well, for me i like POW better that POS mining because i find setting up a mining rig a big headache for me especially when things start taking different turn like GPU not displaying etc

If you are talking about mining online, but don't have any mining rigs perhaps that's too risky dude.
But staking your coins are much profitable, in fact, there are some altcoins minting, even you're not
making any trade in the platform still your coins staking like KCS, Pundix and Anyone.

I prefer to mine coins for several reasons. First of all, they are bringing much more money, because POS coins are not profitable for me. Especially in todays situation, when the market is raising, mining altcoins is getting more and more attractive.

I'm more into Staking and investing for the very long term. I don't have the capacity both Tech, Electricity and all that's required for mining so I will stake with the less cost of the two. Staking is more cost effective to me likewise investment.

One thing is for sure I am not mining, I can't mine, I don't have the power voltage for it I however might stake if staking is investing I will stake but with full brain storming my phobia for losses still exist

I am not mining. Due to the fall in prices mining is no longer profitable.
While staking becoming more and more popular. Why?
Because altcoins are so cheap, it is so easy, everyone could stake and it costs nothing! No energy, no mining rigs, just profit.  Cool

staking because the capital needed is quite cheap, it's just that for staking of course, what makes it difficult is to find a good coin because not all coins staking is feasible, for mining at this time the conditions are not good

I think that PoS is the future for all altcoins because they can´t ensure such hash power as Bitcoin has. But it doesn´t make any sense for Bitcoin to switch from PoW to PoS.  Wink

I'm currently only staking and holding cryptocurrency.
The main coin that I stake is Steem, I get quite a good APR on that, plus it also increases my influence on the platform.

I'm just a blogger, but I've staked so much on Steem that my upvote is actually worth something by now, even with the Steem price being so low.

I'm still mining occasionally, though to a much smaller degree than I used to mine because my electrical costs have changed and it's now mostly unviable for me to mine most crypto profitably now. I've tried staking in the past, though I found mining was much more interesting than staking and profits were relatively low even though you don't need a whole lot to start staking coins as others have said here. I'd definitely start mining again if I moved to a place with a cheaper electrical rate or if I had access to cheaper electricity, though.

I have never been involved in cryptocurrency mining, but this direction is interesting to me. And maybe in the future I will mine on POS

Due to the fact that in the near future it is planned to launch POS for Ethereum 2, I began to study this area and I liked that the POS protocol has the ability to punish those who try to sabotage the network. There is no such possibility in the POW protocol.
