Clarification on Aureus (AUR) Wallet Behavior and False Malware Reports
To the Bitcointalk Community and Administration,
I want to clarify the recent reports against Aureus (AUR) and explain why the malware accusations were mistaken.
1️⃣ Aureus is a Strong Layer 1 Project
Aureus (AUR) is a fully independent Layer 1 blockchain using SHA-256 Proof-of-Work, the same secure algorithm as Bitcoin.
The network has a real hashrate of 123 TH/s, providing strong security and decentralization.
All operations, including peer-to-peer connections and wallet encryption (wallet.dat), are standard for any Layer 1 blockchain and are not malicious.
2️⃣ Why the Previous Report Was Misleading
The report by Zaka1221 relied mostly on Sandbox behavior flags, which often produce false positives for blockchain cores due to P2P networking and encrypted wallets. Zaka was report me in replay #1919
No malware was detected: 0/60 Antivirus engines flagged the code.
The report ignored external audits and reviews, such as SatoshiLabs (Trezor), which fully reviewed and approved the code.
https://github.com/satoshilabs/slips/pull/19743️⃣ Purpose of the Report Was Misunderstood
The report focused more on the appearance of suspicious behavior rather than technical analysis.
This is common with new Layer 1 projects, where automated behavior analysis may mistakenly classify normal blockchain operations as malware.
These false positives should not overshadow the verified legitimacy and security of Aureus (AUR).
4️⃣ Conclusion
Aureus (AUR) is a safe, audited, and operational blockchain, not malware.
Any Sandbox flags are false positives, reflecting the wallet’s advanced security features, not malicious intent.
I encourage the community and moderators to review the technical evidence and consider restoring accounts and removing any incorrect “Scam” labels.
