So I am a source and I get source points but I don’t know how many I get.

Is there a list to show how large my source is.

I suppose I could try to figure out but I earn a lot of merits due to posting a lot of good posts.

So I wonder if there is a merit source list that says what each source earns.

There is no list. But if you look at this number:

"You are a merit source. The next X merit [...]"

And add X to the number of merits you sent in the last 30 days (which is 98) - that should be your total for the month.

However if you spent any of your earned merits (i.e. the X was 0 at any point during the last 30 days) then you'd need to subtract those obviously.

Edit: or you could just ask theymos...

This one does not help you to know how many smerits you have as merit sources in total since the day you became a merit source.
Fortunately, it can help you to know how many smerits you currently have are from your source, and how many of them are from your self-earned merits.

if I counted right, you've sent 112 merit and received 35 merit within the last 30 days
X + 112 - (35/2) = X + 94 , X is your remaining sMerit
so if you have no more sMerit left, then I guess your monthly "sMerit allowance" is 94

Its difficult to calculate now, because you receiving source smerit base on "spent smerit of last month". If you spent 2 smerit from merit source today, then you will receive it exactly after 30 days. So it bit difficult for now how many source merit are you receiving.

Try to remember what was monthly budget of you first month when you become merit source. Since I am a merit source I received my first smerit at once. So I know what is my monthly allocation. But it's not typical for all source.

Or you might check PM of theymos when he was add you merit sources. Then you will find which date you have been added. Then you might calculate how many smerit allocated for you. But you need count manually.

Or theymos is the one who could simply answer your question.

Looking over your meriting history data per month (https://public.tableau.com/shared/ZT3H9XYJB?:display_count=yes&:origin=viz_share_link), its pretty much impossible to determine from the outside, since the amounts received and sent per month are irregular and not correlated. It’s better just to ask @theymos.

<…>
When you are appointed a Merit Source, or your allocation is adjusted, the number of Merit Source available merits starts afresh from the top, so that is the moment when you get to clearly see (In the “You are a merit source. The next x merits …" prompt) how many you have been assigned, since the counter is topped-up. Once you start awarding them, that counter will not top-up again unless you take a break from awarding sMerits for over 30 days.

Grin
I had to laugh at this part. I am picturing you trying to explain how many source merits he has and eventually giving up... oh fcuk it, just ask theymos  Grin

I thought merit sources know the exact numbers of source merits at all times. I remember when one of our guys became a merit source in our local section he knew exactly how much he had. But based on this thread he must have known how many sMerits he had before becoming a source so it was easy for him to figure it out.

I thought so too. The remaining number is always known so if one keeps track of which sMerits they spend (source or earned) it's fairly easy to figure out the total allocation.

I was given a reply  via pm I am 25 a month. Well philipma1957 is 25 a month. Thanks for help as I  realized I could not do it any other way. My issue was I was giving out around 20 or 30 merits a month. Getting 20 or 30 from others plus the 25 as source.  I used to give 1 merit a post so my merits were growing faster then I spent them. Thus I had a hard time figuring what I was getting as a source.

I think all sMerits of Merit sources are numbers divisible by 5 (the number's last digit is either 0 or 5,) corrects me if I am wrong.

Or you might check PM of theymos when he was add you merit sources. Then you will find which date you have been added. Then you might calculate how many smerit allocated for you. But you need count manually.
Even using this method you can't be accurate unless you spend all your monthly points.
I was given a reply via pm I am 25 a month.
I thought that the minimum is 50, there seem to be some sources getting thousands of sMerit (131 merit sources & 21045 sMerit per 30 days.)

I think I've seen source amounts as low as 10 sMerit per month.

See Most generous recent merit senders for a pretty good estimate of who those sources are.
