I am suggesting that they go and partner with many big cryptocurrency exchanges that we have so they can reach the bigger audience and can get more monetary response. I am sure that given the correct approach, the cryptocurrency community is not going to say no to this very good endeavor. The recent burning of a big part of the Amazon rainforest should be a big concern to us all without exception as we are all beneficiary of this thing called as the official lung of the planet Earth. We live and we can die all because of the Amazon.

They should first focus on getting rid of the leaders in their government that are slapping away the help that was provided for the fire fighting efforts that was needed in the Amazon.  Angry  The Amazon rain forest provides a large percentage of the world's oxygen and this makes this a global treasure that needs to be protected from corrupt governments.  Angry

Educating the local farmers and rewarding them for not burning and cutting down the trees will not be effective, because the funds will eventually dry up and then they will just burn it again.

Implement strict penalties for people who are clearing areas for farming without permits and you will see a more regulated "burning" of the forest.  Wink

It's pretty meaningless when on the higher level you have multi billion dollar corporations bribing politicians so that this can happen. These politicians do not care because they live far away from where the fire is rapidly destroying more and more nature. All they have always cared about is to be corrupt. The whole country suffers from the leadership of these criminals.

When you see the politicians close their eyes for what's happening, you know they are in it. It's disgusting to see this happen. Retarded world we live in.

Bitcoin donations directly can't be stopped. Donations through ShitPay can because you are begging them to process your transaction, but they spit right in your face and say no.

It is not the small-scale farmers who are responsible for this. They are mostly settling in already cleared areas, where most of the vegetation is already cut down. On the other hand, it is the large agribusiness lobbies (with direct links to president Bolsonaro), who are destroying the rain forest.  They cut down hundreds of thousands of virgin forest in one go. And their feel emboldened by the statements of Bolsonaro, who views the forest as the biggest obstacle to his "development plans".

It's not just corporations, small-scale farmers burn the forests too, and they don't even have to bribe politicians, because the current leadership of Brazil thinks that any environmental concerns are just communist propaganda or something. This is why some countries have actually pulled out their funds that were donated to prevent fires. So, this blockchain crypto charity will be absolutely useless, since it's a political problem first.

Binance is known to collect donations for various charities, so it would be cool if they took the initiative to set up a rainforest charity fund. CZ with his influence could gather a million without too much effort.

Bitcoin donations directly can't be stopped. Donations through ShitPay can because you are begging them to process your transaction, but they spit right in your face and say no.
If you're referring to BitPay blocking a $100k donation, then it's not really the fault of BitPay. They have changed their terms to comply with legislation. In this case it's the fault of the person donating.

Every compliant payment gateway would have blocked that donation and ask for more information. I can't wrap my head around the fact that someone doesn't read the terms before sending such a large sum of money.

It is a good step they are taking and it means blockchain and bitcoin is been use to solve problems. If they can make more of publication all over the internet and send this letter to owners and developers of the major coins we have currently in the cryptocurrency world I can assure that many of them will be over willing to help because contributing to This Amazon rainforest will bring bitcoin and blockchain in the mind of people that may not have seeing good in it.
