I mined some coins on the pool, downloaded the windows wallet and it doesn't work:

what's your system? XP, win7 or win8?

Thanks for your reply, I am using Windows XP

Maybe something incompatible between windows XP and new version of QT, could you use new version of windows: win7, win8 or 8.1?

Unfortunately I only have access to a windows XP computer. Is this my only option? I have a bunch of coins and the pool is telling me to withdraw.

Could you try to install windows 7 on virtual machine?

Exchanges:
We will consider adding the coin to an exchange after a few days. This is to prevent people from dumping before the coin even gains momentum.
If you want to add Genesiscoin to an exchange, please contact us.

How would you "add the coin to an exchange"?

I don't believe you can control it, any exchange can add your coin right now if they so please.

I know if they want, they can add this coin to exchange every time but we hope they will respect our plan.

You can instal Linux Mint along side windows. The option to do so is right in the installer. Can instal from usb.

Anybody able to get the wallet to work yet?

I added the conf file, but it still says no block source available. Sad

No problem here with the wallet qt in windows xp.

I have Windows 8, so maybe that causes problems. What did you put in your conf? I have:

Code:
rpcuser=genesiscoin
rpcpassword=genesiscoinsecretpassword
rpcport=44669
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
server=1
listen=1
daemon=1
addnode=123.18.212.164

Got the same conf.

Where did u put the genesis.conf?  It has to be copied to the same directory as the wallet.dat.
Maybe open it as windows7 compatible?

Lucky you! I just got 1 block at lunch, the rest all orphaned.

Everything is fine up to now. Should not get ex in 1st week.

Rename it to the correct one: GenesisCoin.conf

Put it in right location %AppData%\Roaming\GenesisCoin

I tried renaming the conf, open the wallet in W7 compatibility and it all didn't work. I have a lot of wallets and never had this problem.

I can't get this wallet to work. The conf file is properly named and in the proper appdata folder. Never had a problem adding conf files for other wallets before. I have disabled antivirus and firewall. I have added nodes manually via the debug window and it tells me the nodes are already added. Still it won't sync or acquire an active connection. This is on both vista and 7 machines.

Ok, please restart your wallet again. We've refresh our node. It has more than 20 active connections now. Sorry for that inconvenience.

Also getting this no block source available error.

Tried everything mentioned above, still no luck. Would like to be notified if this problem gets fixed.
