I have a friend who wins 15,000 pesos or $300 the first time keno games in an offline betting outlet, he is so happy and very ecstatic about his winnings, I congratulate him and ask him how long before he hit the jackpot, he told me that it took him 7 months and he is betting daily at 100  pesos or $3 so his losses are bigger than winnings.

For lots of people gambling is a hobby, if he’s having fun & gambling with only $3 usually then maybe he doesn’t mind losing. It’s only like going out with friends & drinking beer. If he’s having fun then cool. Obviously when he wins $300 he forgets all those little losses even if he’s still down.

As long as he’s not getting himself into financial trouble then let him get on with it

In gambling we already knew that it’s more of losing then winning so if you still play means you already accepted the reality of small chance of winning .

If that so when we got a win and specially with that amount in which good money,we intend to be happy and forget everything just for a day or so

That's great to hear, so you have won a lot rather a loses and Yes definitely. You can remember your losses after you win. You might compute your losses and your total winnings to have the exact amount of your earnings. That's what gamblers do but some people will just celebrate and forget all the losses and will just be happy for the win. That's what we called totally entertained in gambling.

In some way, counting back the money you've lost can lead to regret. Especially if it amounts to almost the same as your winnings. We know where regret leads. Though in another point, you're right. Counting your losses will make you aware of how careless or cocky you were with your money. I guess it just depends on how you see your losses. If it's something that will push you to gamble more or to make you step back a little.

I think that not all gamblers which do not calculate his losses, it doesn't mean that the gamblers were an addict and needs help. As far as I know, I don't calculate my losses, but I don't addict to gambling. Besides that, I guess that many other gamblers will do the same as me.

Perhaps, we are too lazy to calculate the losses we got in the gambling games because we don't think that is too important for us. The only thing that we want is only playing gambling and have fun without thinking about the details.

Since psychology is a big part of investing/trading/gambling, I suppose that "cheating" a bit on your calculations in order to make yourself think you have been more profitable can be good.
When we're on the red, we tend to be reckless hoping we'll make up for our loses, usually ending up with even more loses. Making ourselves believe we have no loses should help at some level... unless you end up losing everything... don't do that!

Not really, most of the time gamblers don’t remember the losses they incur after winning a big amount because they are to focused on the wining they got one time which is higher that what they bet on the day. In this case your friend bet $3 but he won $300, at first look it’s sure a big win but when you look back and calculate all your bet for 7 months then $300 it’s just nothing however, once gamblers win big amounts the first time won’t really look back at his previous bets, what is important the he won after a long time.

Yeah "amount" that will remind you of the profit or losses you get. the greater the loss you get, the more you will remember the loss.

You are correct there, it will only hurt us if we keep counting our loses, we are not here for business where we need to track our expenses and income.

As I can see to your friends, He was so happy when He found out that he won that amount of money, and didn't notice the total losses He made during the time that your friend patiently doing it. So, if he took it 7 months it means 100 x 7= 21, 000 Pesos were in the end he still got loss of 7, 000 pesos.

Exactly ,when we gamble the fact that most of the time we already accept before playing that losses will be on us so accepting this are already cause for not computing our losses

Your friend was probably happy because he was able to partially win back his losses. If you keep on losing and then win all of a sudden, it is quite normal to be very happy even though if you loss is higher than your total profit. I don't see anything wrong over here.  You friend is actually doing a good thing. Instead of regretting and chasing his loss, he decided to start over again probably.

Well, ofcourse, I would be happy like shit. Not to mention if that pot money was able to fill my losses then I'd rather make a savings out of it then play again. That's would I do if I were on that position.

Most gamblers have the same mentality. No gambler records or even takes note or make a journal of their daily winning and losses to keep track of their winning or losses. For gamblers, winning is everything no matter how much money you have lost before, I guess that would not matter as long as you are winning or you had hit a jackpot.
