OP if you change your point of view you might consider gambling as a fun game while not thinking too much of how the society will gonna judge you. And also, online gambling will not affect your image if you are inside of your house playing it alone. Local gambling may affect your life while you are protecting your reputation and i know a lot of people but guess what, they didn't bother anyway as long as they enjoy what they were doing.

I do the things what I love to do no matter if it is gambling or flirting ut the subject of this thread which affected your personal reputation at some point of your life but no matter did you cared about it or not.

Nonetheless, you are the protagonist of your own life no matter what the society gonna tell you, gambling, fame, money, sex, reputation it doesn't matter cause at the end of the day you are still the one that will gonna make your decision no matter what it is because it is all part of our life. The most important thing is that no matter how hard the lesson in your life at least you learned.

That's one of the benefits of playing online. Though I don't consider myself a gambler since I only dabbled a bit, I can imagine people I know giving a dirty look had they found me in a casino or out on the streets playing whatever gambling is available.

I totally agree with you that everything we personally do is our right, as long as it does not harm others and violates the law, then we have the right to do whatever we want.

I kept it a secret because I don't think this is something that should be told.

This is only true if you are a responsible gambler and you are not spending beyond your limits, which is also true from my end. So there's no ruined reputation even if you gamble from time to time. A gambler's reputation is only being ruined if he is affecting someone else's life already or has debts that has never been paid or any of that sort.

Most of the people surrounding me doesn't know that I was into gambling, because I use cryptocurrency. Few people who are close to me know that I was into gambling. In specific whenever I feel bad after a loss I used to share it to them. They are the one who console me, don't think much about it. Someday we'll get a chance of winning.

Not really, because I only see gambling as a part of entertainment only so it's a normal thing to do.
Nothing really complex, we're just doing it because we wanted to be entertained but for others, it really changes the personality especially their human behavior.

Don't do gambling if you lack dedication on what you're doing, if you think it's a sin then you're wrong because you have a different perspective on gambling. You should see it as entertainment purposes only, if you have enough money then it's fine but if you're using your money for daily routine then it will literally change and be an emotional person.

No, it's not harming or affected my reputation, as long as you keep it yo yourself and moderate it, you know your priority and your family, you are ok with it, the key is moderation, do not spend more time and only gamble what you can afford to lose.

There's more to life than gambling, and if you have a good control people will admire you for this.

It depends on your work and your background if you are a preacher or a law enforcer it will definitely harm your reputation but if you are an average guy, you can play all you want, just don't get too much of gambling, you will affect your personal reputation if you are a chronic gambler and you gamble all day and all night.

in my case, my personal reputation is not affected, my friends and my family knows that I gamble just to have some fun and at a minimal time, and only with spare money, I don't have to explain this to other people as long as you place your family first and you have a good time management you are ok.

When we play offline gambling, and our neighborhood knows that we are gamblers, they will give a bad image to us. Usually, it's happening in a society which has a deep bond in that neighborhood. They will not permit their family to have a relationship with us, and I guess some of us have those experience.

People will see that a gambler has a bad temperament, cannot socialize with other people, and another bad word about gambling. They will say and ask us to stop gambling, and even they will advise us to leave gambling forever.

People will talk about playing gambling is a sin which we don't have to do for our life. I see in here, some of our people have got that bad image, but gladly, some of them can realize and slowly can leave the gambling forever.

If you mean that my public image is somehow stained simply because I gamble, I don't think so. Affected in such a way that I'm being labelled as a gambler, yes. But being a gambler does not necessarily mean you're a bad guy or one who's leading a good-for-nothing kind of like. From where I'm living, some frown at gamblers, some are gamblers themselves, while others do not care.

Gambling = sin is a wrong equation. But gambling while your children have nothing to eat, gambling with all your savings, gambling and getting drunk, gambling all the time, gambling until morning or very late at night, and so on are definitely a sin. I suppose gambling has earned a bad name due to a lot of undisciplined gamblers.

There could be reasons why you created such a topic, it's either you experienced this yourself, or you know someone who did.

Anyway, I'm the type of person who is an occasional gambler, from time to time, risks money that I can afford to lose. If ever I would be willing to progress more, I could, but I'm not addicted. I think people who are concerned about the outlook of their activities is that they may be seeking the approval of others. Imagine, if you don't have anything to prove to someone and you are just doing what you love and continuing what you do, the "personal" reputation wouldn't be technically considered.

People are concerned due to

• They are ashamed of what they are doing and wants to keep it to themselves
• Addiction is something they don't recognize yet or not acknowledged the problem he/she has
• They judge others and think other people judge them too.

The list above are the most common problems people concern themselves with that are not that important. If you are doing what you love, then go, but if you start bothering people, let's say you are a gambling addict and you start asking for money, then check yourself in the mirror and make sure that to re-analyze your decisions again.

The majority of voters had said No, then, they are right. It can't affect your personal reputation because gambling is only entertainment.
No one knows if you are online gambling enthusiast because you are at home while gambling. Besides, being a gambler there's nothing to shame with because that is your life and they have nothing to do. We had a different lifestyle and since gambling isn't a crime then, who cares if you gamble.

Agree with this. Don't let your gambling activity ruin your image if you have such kind of a profession. It does not mean that you should stop gambling if you have a "more decent career", but you should be more careful not to expose your gambling hobby. You might lose your job because some companies or offices follow such strict regulations on their employees.

Live a secret life like what we have seen in the movies. During the day you are a teacher (just like the example above). And on the night, you are a bad-ass pro-gambler.

yes only if you are a popular or reputable person on your place and if you tell them that your gambling or if someone discovered that your gambling but if you will only keep it as a secret and you only gamble anonymously/privately , know one will ever know  .

 in my case i am not a popular person or a reputable person so i dont care if people around me will see me playing a gambling  . infact im verry proud to tell them that im playing a gambling  .
