I know this might be a silly question but how do I upload Avatar to my profile.
Do I need to reach a certain milestone, rank or status?

Yes, only full member ranks and above are allowed to have avatars.

It must be no more than 120px wide, 80px tall, and 100 KiB in size. It must be a PNG, GIF, or JPEG image. It must be safe for work.

That only full member rank and up can wear avatar and to achieve this you must gain atleast another 98 merits because you have already 2 by now

How to gain merits.?be active share valuable answers to the questions and be helpful to the community,never get involved in shady and bad moves here .after then?you can wear avatar

Why does this restriction exist?

Long-time ago it was allowed even the newbies can wear avatar but I don't know the reason why.

Long-time ago it was allowed even the newbies can wear avatar but I don't know the reason why.

It was probably abused by spammers, making disposable new accounts only to promote their garbage via avatar and signature...
