Gambling just for fun?

There are some people gamble and lose. if you ask them why do you gamble? They will answer you "just for fun"
They know they are loser in long term and no strategy works, but continue to gamble for fun.
How can enjoy something that you know you will lose? Is losing money really enjoyable? Isn't there any other entertainment you can enjoy?
I think these people are still hopeful of winning back previous losses or they are addicted. Gambling cannot be just for fun. There are many free games too.

The reason why we are in gambling is not just to have actually but to win prizes. It seems to be useless for me to be here, spending time and losing money without having any chance to take it back. Many people will think like that after they lose some money in gambling. But in the other days, they will think that "maybe I can play gambling again this time and see how good my luck." I think that is normal to happen in many people because once they come to the gambling, they will come back again in the future because gambling itself is very attractive and it seduces other people to come.
It is hard to stop the fun things that we've already get, but we can stop it in anytime if we want.

Just for fun is just a statement, but the inner mind always agonize for a win. Not only win, the earning is the big thing that makes the common people spend good time on gambling even after loses. In simple terms, mentioning it just for fun is a way to pacify thyself out of the loses. Think of gambling without money or an earning possibility, none will say just for fun anymore.

You are right, I think a lot of gamblers who use the terms playing for fun, either do not know the meaning of this or they just use that to exonerate themselves from being classified as gamblers playing for money. I don’t understand the shame in being known for a gambler, its not the same as stealing. Just a hardworking individual that are working hard to make a living, but because of what the community has made gambling look like, everyone would now be claiming to play for entertainment and within them they are after the money.

Like you said, let’s take money out of gambling and see how many gamblers would be left, if they are truly playing for entertainment, there are a lot of free games, why choose crypto games that still involves payment.

Gambling for fun is just what the responsible gamblers are doing, when it affected you when you lose, you are not gambling for fun, but you are gambling for money. In order for you to gamble for fun, you should not risk a decent amount of money, it should be a small amount of money that you are willing and ready to lose, that definition if you follow that, you should be having fun in gambling, even if you lose.

Yup, losing money is never fun. They say they are doing it for fun because they fell that others are going to judge them if they tell the truth. That not true though because most people are open minded about what their friends are doing. But having to tell them that you are losing money because of your addiction sucks and so they use this lie.

That applies for sports betting but not to games like dice, slots and others where the expected value is negative. There it is just fire and forget.

I admit that the form fun of gambling is from the win you get. I am not hypocritical that when I was lose I will certainly be sad, fun that I get if I can profit from gambling. but I realize that there are gambling players who don't care about winning or losing. they play and spend their money, their time because the sensations they get when playing gambling makes them happy.

  me and my friends also play poker and dice game  on our place, we only do it for fun but we dont include betting using fiat or cryptos   not because we dont have some spare cash but because we dont want someone to loose for just a game

When people gamble their money and the results are positive, that is when they find it fun. But if they gamble and subsequently lose, they will try as much to feel the satisfaction of winning.

Although I do not want to eliminate the possibility of people gambling due to the enjoyment they feel, most gamble with a primary goal in their mind- which is to win and to earn cash quickly. The endless cycle continues until a person drains his/her earnings and starts to look for alternatives in finding cash to gamble again.
Unfortunately, while it may seem that they are enjoying, they do not see the negative implications that arise from this.

Yes, I think it is high time a clear definition of fun is made opened for everyone understands. There is no such thing as fun in gambling and for those who claim to be entertained, I am sure they are also aware that this is only temporary because by the time all what they came into gambling with is exhausted, they wouldn’t need a soothsayer to make them understand that they have made a great mistake.

Let's face it, we all love the thrill and it can get fun but we should be able to recognize if we really are having fun or just using that as an excuse to cover an addiction.

Addiction is already on a different level. That is already bothersome and beyond reason. Addiction might mean someone cannot anymore control the urge to gamble. That could cost him his job, family, wealth, and everything including sanity. Most gamblers who are really fond of gambling are not on that level yet, perhaps short of it.

There are gambling games that are not fun, but people are still playing solely out of the hope to get rich very quick. A lot of people bet on a lottery combination every single day. There is nothing fun when you just wait for the result which is 99% not on your favor. There are also other types of gambling that are really fun, like poker or sports betting. There are also games that are not really fun and are just made to kill one's time. I would consider slot machine games to be this kind. 

I admit I do play lotto every now and then. I don't see it as fun though, more like "Oh, I got an extra $0.5 lemme try my luck". I think it's similar with mostly luck-based games like dice and roulette, the "fun" part is the anticipation if you'll get a prize or not.

I understand it might not immediately be the case with card games though I think the prize is still a motivation. Typing this while listening to people are pulling an all-nighter gambling noisily outside - at a wake.  Last night tonight, they've been doing this for 2 weeks, hard to believe they kept coming back everyday without hoping of striking it big at least once.

The intention won't be to lose although when it happened the individual just catching fun through gambling, don't get affected like those gambling because they want to make money. We have those who have Investing as a hobby, they just invest for the fun of investing just as gambling is a hobby to some individuals.

I think some people gamble for fun, and they don't think about the losses because they only want to get entertainment from gambling. Besides playing gambling, some people want to invest in gambling because they think that investing in gambling will give them a nice profit. Gambling will be fun if they can control themselves and not getting deep into the games. They can leave the gambling anytime without any hard feeling so they can prevent from addicting to gambling.

If there is a game like dice and poker, there will always be winners and losers. How could you possibly play those games without winners and losers? Winning and losing do not only mean money. It could simply mean winning or losing the game.

But that is not what gambling is all about. If you play dice or poker or any other games offered in casinos or gambling houses and there is no bet involved whatsoever, it means you are not gambling at all; you are simply playing. If that is what fun for you is all about, then you better stay away from gambling. All gambling involves the possibility of losing.

Nothing wrong with gambling as long as you can afford to lose the amount you’re betting with. Gambling can be seen as a hobby, most hobbies cost money.

This can be compared to an online game where usually non spenders envies and mocks people who can afford to buy expensive skins or boost their stat quickly because of money. I absolutely agree with this. Indeed there are people saying that they gamble for fun while they are desperately try to win a lot of money with this activity, or want recover their losses, like OP said. Such people not only misinform others, but they fool themselves too. The reality check for them is that they should honestly answer to themselves whether gambling is beneficial for them or not, regardless of the outcomes in terms of money.

To be honest, they are just saying "Just for fun" as their comfort word. They can't think other reason than that whenever someone or even themselves ask why they are playing gambling. Gambling guaranteed you already that you're going to lose most of the rounds the time you enter the game, and there is nothing you can do about it once you hit that "roll" button or once the game begins, there is no turning back.

The only thing that you could do is to hope that you might btr lucky to win the game and could win a big amount and call it a day, because don't let your greediness fool you.

Well I think that the degree of adrenaline that the game produces is often influenced, and if there is fun in it, it is something different from the common thing and more if there is money involved, there are many who play online for free because they like it, but if you play and win it already becomes something more fun, maybe the losses take them many times as teaching and it is better that way and not fall into vice.

whats fund ? you mean to say fun ? what about if those loosers are freaking rich and they can just giveway their cash in exchange for thier happiness when they are playing a gambling  .

For those who are saying crypto gambling is fun, they sure had a huge fund and doesn't even bother if they lose such amount of money,

you can include me on that list because i can also say that gambling is fun but i dont have a big capital and im still afraid to loose even if i will only play for fun and not for the profit  .  there are some that also plays for fun but like me , they also minimize thieir play because money is hard to loose  for a comon man that are not rich .
