Hi,

does anybody else with an email account at Hushmail.com not receive the authorisation email from Blockchain.com currently?

I've been waiting for 2 days. I've already checked with both the Hushmail and the Blockchain support. Both say 'there is no problem from our side'.

It's the first time the email is delayed for such a long time.

-snip-
First time I am hearing about this email service. Did you not do some little bit of research about where to open an account on? We have much secure ones like protonmail or even Gmail for that reason. Many of them like Yahoo have problems receiving authetication emails so I guess thats what might be wrong here. Since you are also thinking the same, why no try changing the email or make a new account after creating a new email?

Not sure why you use them in the first place though. Wink

Can you try to use the Wallet ID Reminder? Since it will ask you for an email address to send you the ID.
Just to see if you receive the email.
(I suppose you already checked if by mistake you haven't added the domain to a blocklist or a filter? and you're able to receive emails from other domains)
If you don't receive it, it comes from blockchain.com, the thing is if there are not a lot of people with the same problem "All is fine" for them.

...
Hushmail is popular among the paid services

Most of their users encountered such common problems with blockchain. I suggest you to use their mobile app, so that it will not always require you to ask new login authorization when you're going to access your blockchain account.

Thanks for your replies, guys.

Can you try to use the Wallet ID Reminder? Since it will ask you for an email address to send you the ID.
Just to see if you receive the email.

It doesn't come through either.

(I suppose you already checked if by mistake you haven't added the domain to a blocklist or a filter? and you're able to receive emails from other domains)
If you don't receive it, it comes from blockchain.com, the thing is if there are not a lot of people with the same problem "All is fine" for them.

Hushmail support has already confirmed that the blockchain.info domain has been added to my allow list so that it should be able to come straight through to me and not go to Junk or get dropped.

I suggest you to use their mobile app, so that it will not always require you to ask new login authorization when you're going to access your blockchain account.

I will definitely do that, thanks. But first I have to regain access to my wallet.

Sorry, missed that one. Yes, it works. I receive emails from the Blockchain support (support@blockchain.com) and also from other domains I've tested myself. It's just those automatically generated emails from blockchain.info which do not come through.

You have waited too long, if you have your seed with you, you can access your funds right away by entering them at https://login.blockchain.com/#/recover

or better yet, switch to a new wallet as blockchain.com is not a good wallet to store your funds even if it's just your 3rd wallet for convenience. I recommend electrum for better security and more features. also a big plus is you won't have to deal with the common problems of blockchain.com

You can also import your blockchain.com wallet to electrum by following this guide https://bitcoinelectrum.com/restoring-your-standard-wallet-from-seed/
Then make a new wallet in electrum and send your funds there for better security. (Don't forget to verify your electrum file!)

Here is a site containing a good overview of wallets https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

h4ns, did you try to change browser? Maybe a blockchain.com have some problems with the browser you use and when you click on login button the request simply is not sent, even though you think so.

Among other things that can be a solution to your problem, you can always restore your wallet with seed by making new account. Maybe you read it, but if not here is some info about possible problems and solutions regarding e-mail problems : I am not receiving my authorization email

This is the best option.

If you have your seed you don't need to bother to login in blockchain.com wallet to access your funds
Just recover your funds in any other wallet (Electrum, coinomi, mycelium, etc) using your seed

Be very careful in this process, as your seed will be exposed in the process, so I recommend moving your funds straight away to a new wallet of yours, once you recover access to them.

A good option would be to insert your seed in https://iancoleman.io/bip39 (in offline, download the page)
Then you scan the privatekeys QR codes using coinomi, or just paste privatekeys in Electrum.org wallet. This way your funds will be transferred to a new wallet in which the seed hasn't been exposed or used in blockchain.info wallet. Much safer and you will be using better wallets than blockchain.info

Did you tried their mobile wallet which may work, because I did used them and login to mobile wallet seems much easier but not sure they were asking for Authorization for new device logins.

Just try many time if this was the only option or you can import to other wallet like others said.

We are talking here about seed which is generated in the online wallet, that seed can hardly be more exposed just by typing it in Electrum, provided the computer is virus/malware free and that Electrum is not fake.

Using of iancoleman tool is the last thing to try, what if a user has a large number of addresses (private keys)? Scanning every private key is time-consuming, and I think that change addresses should be considered in this process.

If the customer support fails to resolve an e-mail authorization problem, then the only way is to recover wallet by seed. Only problem in such wallet recovery would be in the fact that any imported address will not be recovered.

I agree that it is probably ok to use the same seed on electrum, but I think it is good to tell him the correct security procedure, which everyone say out there: If your seed is exposed ( typed anywhere) just discard it an use a new one.

I think it is good to tell him that even for educational purposes. I would do it anyway. What if his computer is infected with a keylogger? His seed is somehow safe from hackers now, even using an online wallet, because he has not been hacked so far...

Using of iancoleman tool is the last thing to try, what if a user has a large number of addresses (private keys)? Scanning every private key is time-consuming, and I think that change addresses should be considered in this process.

Yes. It is time-consuming and last resource. He can access the change addresses there using External/Internal set to 1. But I agree, last option...

If the customer support fails to resolve an e-mail authorization problem, then the only way is to recover wallet by seed. Only problem in such wallet recovery would be in the fact that any imported address will not be recovered.
Personally, I wouldn`t even bother contacting their support. I tried once and nobody answered me..

2 days waiting is too long.Im not familiar with hushmail email provider though.I had read up above that you do already tried it with other browsers.
Why not try to make use of gmail.com or yahoo?

Heres some links from Blockchain about this issue https://support.blockchain.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000937726-I-am-not-receiving-my-authorization-email

This is a good decision of yours, just avoid web wallet because this is also high risk and you don't have your own private key.
For free wallet, the safest wallet, as of now is electrum if you have a clean PC to install. Here is the right link and make it sure you did not download a phishing link of electrum wallet. https://electrum.org/#download

If you read fully the discussion, something that a lot of people don't bother to do, you would notice @h4ns is already using Electrum since. And I doubt he needs any of your advice posted. As usual in this forum, people post real shits just to make their post longer but 75% of the text is useless, out of topic, and sometimes posting wrong information. :/
