Many DLT based Internet services are already out there from successful projects like:
DNS: https://www.namecoin.org/
Storage: https://filecoin.io/
Computing: https://golem.network/

With the rise of IoT and capabilities provided by 5G, Web 3.0 can benefit from a decentralized communications stack that enables real unique addresses to all these connected things.
There are also many discussions and studies for BC - IoT use cases:
https://medium.com/coinbundle/blockchain-internet-of-things-iot-be58703617c9
https://www.i-scoop.eu/blockchain-distributed-ledger-technology/blockchain-iot/
https://www.i-scoop.eu/blockchain-distributed-ledger-technology/blockchain-iot-distributed-ledger-technology/

What else other than the IoT transactions can make use of BC? How about a fully decentralized Internet transport protocol?

"Internet transport protocol" do you mean logistics or else? Can you be more elaborate please.
For logistics there are plenty of them out there, the first that came in my mind is CargoX.

Transport Protocol means the infrastructure itself
That maps to the Layer-3 (Network) layer of the OSI model

Here I meant the protocol responsible for data communication.

Would IoT be accepted to run over a parallel Web 3.0 decentralized protocol which caters for all its needs while traffic is decoupled from the Internet until a fully Blockchain-run communications stack becomes prominent?
