Not saying the scam is this thread, but lately, scammers offering escrow do so for a few well know bitcointalk members...then...others say, hell, if

they are on board, when asked, they waive escrow....the original well know bitcointalk members also don't get the devices but do get their BTC back

via escrow and pay the modest fee...so not out anything. rinse/wash/repeat

just keep this in mind if you see folk do escrow through any sales thread...follow through on such and don't be talked out of such...at worst you will

not get the item and get all your BTC back minus the escrow fee

just a word of caution seen this scam on the altcoins thread and other places on bitcointalk

so ..again..just follow through on escrow on anything you buy on bitcointalk IMHO. Don't be talked out of it.

Also, PayPal CAN BE reversed, so don't assume that works either if they offer it as an alternative

Most buyers don’t even know what the word “escrow” means. Using the word “escrow” in a post is meaningless. The scammer will attempt to build trust with you and eventually try to convince you that escrow is not necessary. If the buyer puts up a big enough fuss, the scammer will just move along to the next victim.

Same thing happened in another thread.  The guy offering 25% discount on Bitmain products.  Well known member took the deal and did escrow. Then when I responded, poster said he was unable to front the money, and I should just "trust" him.    
   Escrow deal fell thru, no one else took the bait.

yep..also just everyone does escrow and if he delivers..no harm..no foul...he is golden as a bitcointalk user in the gaining of trust. as a result...

win/win ...if he does not deliver you pay the fee

for having a little bit of hope on the deal and the escrow...what the heck we all need a little hope...for a loss of the fee...

if he offers (or anyone) offers great deals and tries to convince you no escrow..well...that shows something to avoid as well...

I am not accusing anyone of scam's per se on this thread or the OP..I'm telling folk how you probably should approach this whole endeavor until

the OP gets some kinda track record with his NEWBIE status (though if legit no fault of his own)

due diligence don't ya know....if legit this is the path with trust rating for the OP to get a legitimate framework under his account for more such sales

you need a process...and the above process though not perfect is how I would approach this on this thread or any thread

I used to do escrows and get involved with sellers like this.

Oh yes we will send one upfront to you. Let me have your shipping address.

So sometimes i would get gear. Test demo and buy it then.

Legit guys would be happy to send gear to me.

And sleazy guys would vanish.

But this year I was doxxed on badbuyer dot com

An anonymous person said I was a bad buyer on eBay.

He or she did not have  any info on my eBay account.

But they posted my real name phone number and address.

At this point I decided to not do escrow or offer to help any new people like the op.
I realized that some scammers are serious enough to do a dox on me because I was hurting their scams.

If the op has gear to sell and uses an escrow fine.

But if the op is a scammer you use a legit escrow the op has your name and shipping address.

You may get doxxed later on.  Escrows can’t help you with that.

I recommend that you be really careful about giving your name and number  and address out to a new seller.

To the op if you are legit you could come to Howell NJ USA and met me in person with the unit.
I will shake your hand and drive away with it. 

I will bring it to an undisclosed location test it demo it and handle the sale of it for you.
I understand if you say no as you may be far away from Howell NJ, USA. But if you are near Howell NJ USA
