Feeling exited, wondering to share with community so newbies will motivate to contribute themselves. As title said, I have achieved 800 900 merit just now. It was really not very easy task for me since I am not native English speaker. I believe I could earn 1000 merit very soon and once a day I will be a Legenday member. At the beginning even I was not wondered that I might achieve Hero rank. But I never stop my contribution in a result this community help a lot to build my rank. I really appreciate to this community, because I got everything more than my expectation. So I would like motivate newbies, do not stop your contribution. No matter you are not receiving enough merit, just keep continue your good contribution. Hope once a day you will be a Hero Member. - Here is my little contributions for community :

1. As a merit sources I am spending time to find good post and sending merit to them. 2. Reporting forum spam, I have reported 5815 posts with 99% accuracy (5709 good, 73 bad, 33 unhandled). 3. As a DT1 member trying to prevent forum scammer.

In February, you have shared your 500 earned merits story and now it has turned into 800+, excellent job done, mate. I had gotten 2 merits from you on that thread because of pointing out "then" and "than". By this time, your posts quality have increased a lot. Great job.

Hope,things changing for me as well,able to get few merits in the recent weesk compared to my previous posting habit once lot of my posts were deleted overnight,but still lot more to learn and learn feel myself as newbie too.

Does this really matter in any way here on the forum, as long as OP isn't writing an essay or a composition that'll be scored or graded, then this little error you pointed out is inconsequential. On this forum what's of most importance is the content of your posts, as long as the post makes sense and it can be understood when read, then it's clearly acceptable. On the grounds of syntax which has to do with how grammatically correct a sentence is, the post may be wrong, but it's not a problem if it's semantically correct. And I do not see how this punctuation error makes OP's posts either unreadable or incoherent. Op is one of those users whose native language isn't English, the more reason why he deserves some applauds. |

This is very motivational especially to newbies and those who think it's hard to earn merit. All one has to do is to actively discuss, make quality posts and respond positively to members who need help and merit will flow your way. OP has also been a very go fighter against scammers around the forum; basically he has contributed positively a lot in the forum.
I noticed that you are almost making 900 earned merit so i gave you a small push thou not so much I am pretty sure you should be able to achieve the new milestone in a couple of days. Keep up the awesome work my friend. Cheers. |

First of all, congrats OP, not many people on this forum managed to achieve what you did!
I can confirm that these kind of threads indeed help newbies, as I was one of them recently.
Before making an account, i thought that it will be nearly impossible to get even 1 merit, let alone achieve one of the higher ranks as OP, but then i looked at some of the earlier motivational threads, like those from @tranhidung and @fillipone , with some solid advice, and proof that it is possible. After i got first merit, i thought it will be very hard to get 10. After i got 10, 100 merit seemed like a mountain to climb, but now after getting over 100 it is clear to me that nothing is impossible.
Bitcointalk forum might seem as unwelcoming place for a newbie, but there are plenty of higher rank members that regularly help them, as long as they write solid posts.It might take a while, but if you write solid posts, and if you write about the stuff you know thing or two about, merits will find your way.

Feeling excited ! Today I have achieved 900 merits. This is really very important gift for me from bitcointalk community. This post was made on 18 August 2019 and today 3 November 2019. Less than two month I have earned 100 merits even I didn't made much main topics. I am expecting I would earn more 100 merits less than two month so it would be potential for Legendary member.
